I am builder a graph that is going to cover an entire month. The user may change the Month/Year but there is no point in choosing a date for the month as it is going to show the entire month anyways. So is there a way to maybe make the DateChooser date always the first and only allow the user to pick the month and year?

I can do this for the year easily by setting the minYear and maxYear to whatever year I want, but I am not seeing a strait forward way of disallowing the user to select a different month?

However, when I grow the container, it doesn't get scrollbars at all (vertical scroll policy is AUTO), and the outer container stretches past the bottom of the screen, causing the entire app to get scrollbars. Imagine we have an object dispatching some event and this object should perform some action on this event. What's the right way of catching this event? May I listen to this event directly in my object or should I let this event travel through EventMap? Example: I have a popup window with form. View 2 RepliesI have recently been using Charles the debugging app. And noticed a very chatty app named skyrocket (a very very cool slide presentation app) sending a lot of data across the wire. It is built in flex by the looks and I was wondering why they had chosen to send their data using base64 and not amf. Is it because they don't want to be locked into the flash platform? Or could there be another reason. Is it to store it as XML in the database as they don't want to be dealing with amf when handing data to other services/clients (iPhone etc).

View 3 RepliesI'm in the process of planning a banner project, where I want to being able to output all banner formats (about 10+ of them) from the same flex project. They will all contain pretty much the same content but with some variation, and because of the size limit I want to load only the necessary assets for each format.
I wonder if there's a way to dynamically load different assets (in form of swf or swc) depending on some setting? I can of course load different swf:s into the main swf but I want only one swf per format. How about launch configurations, is there a way to choose different swc:s there?

On the DateChooser component, it shows the days for only the current month... but i'd like to show some of the previous month's days and some of the next month's days.Is there a property to set on the DateChooser component to show 42 days. I mean, to show some of the previous month's days + the current month's days + some of the next month's days. I'm not sure what this is called...If you look at a typical month calendar, for example for June 2011 it shows:

Is there a property that I've overlooked which shows some of the days from the prev. month and next month in the current month view? Or would I need to extend the DateChooser component and override a method?
I'm building an application that is simulair to a realtime world clock. I want to be able to show the current day of the year and the current second of the year. Based on those variables I will calculate realtime data basd on data that I will put into the application monthly. I have written a script, but it's not very accurate. I think the time part of the script is slipping for some reason. Plus I have to account for leap years.

Is nearly right, but it seems to be a couple of days out - If I run it as at today (Feb 23rd 2011), It gives me 310 days till the end of the year, whereas (by counting on all my fingers and toes) I get 313 days.
does anyone know a formula that can convert the current time/day to the day of the year or seconds?

I am making a site for a tattooist and they need to update the gallery of tattoo images (jpg) about 4 or 6 times a year. I am making it in flash mx.I thought back to things i'd heard about and came to the conclusion that xml might be the best way with this - so the client can open a text file and change the image name and then upload the image as needed to the server.
