View 5 RepliesI've got about 6 buttons laid out, one on top of the other in a list format. In their normal state the buttons are grey in colour, when I rollover them, the buttons flash and turn to orange. Now, what I need to happen is this: I want the buttons to stay orange once clicked and only roll out back to grey when the user has clicked on another button in the list. I've been told that the best way to do this is via adding a listener, however I am a little unsure as to how to go about this. I've checked the flash help file and have a basic understanding of how listeners work...but can't really wrap my head around applying it to this situation. Perhaps I will need to have all the buttons as separate broadcasters?

I have just started using flash. I needed to do this presentation for a client. In one scene I have provided him with a photo-gallery, where some 30 photos are placed randomly ...when playing the movie (published as projector) user will click any photo to watch it. For this I have used swapdepth so that photo, user clicks comes to front. Also applied drag to all these photos.
My code look something like this:

For doing this first I converted the photo to button ...then converted this button to a movie clip and gave a instance name to this. Then I went into the movie clip and applied the above code to the button placed inside the movie. Applying all this to all photos I placed them randomly on timeline. The problem is : code is working fine, it is dragging photos, bringing them to front etc. But I have user to go back and play another scene to continue the presentation. Problem starts here, the last photo clicked by user remains there, even though it is not present in that scene.

I am using a datagrid in flex and need to render each cell with a different style.What could be the best way to set a style to a perticular cell in datagrid/advanced datagrid (flex)?
I think one possible option can be extend the datagrid and override the drawRowBackgroungd function. Apart from this can i use some custom item renderer or some property similar to label function of a series, there it used to return label here we need a style.

View 5 RepliesI'm new to flash and I'm working on an animation project for my class.I decided to do half of it as single cell animation and half of it using tweens and whatnot.The parts that are single celled are moving WAY to fast and are throwing off the flow with my tweens. It's a requirement of the project to have atleast 20 fps, and I don't have enough time to dedicate to drawing tons of more cells.For example, I have one animation made up of 40 frames and it needs to be stretched to about 100 frames.I've tried copying all of the cells into a movie clip and attaching a stop(); method at the final frame in the movie clip, then importing that into my movie and stretching it to the length i need, but it just runs at the normal animation rate and then stops until the timeline gets to where it's time for the next event or scene to take place. It sort of looks like i need to find a way to control the fps of my movie clip independently of the entire movie, but how would i go about that?how i could go about extending this?
