how to tween to a frame label on the main timeline using Tweener?
I can get this to work:

I want to tween to a frame label, but if I put one in there, it doesn't work...

I have a button that is loaded into my main movie at level 2. in my main movie on the timeline I have a frame label called guestbook. I want my button, when released to go to trigger the frame label. on my button i have the script:
on (release) {
_root.gotoAndStop("guestbook");
}
Obvously this does not work because it references the wrong timeline so i tried:
on (release) {
_parent.gotoAndStop("guestbook");
}
thinking that somehow it would see the parent swf and work - haha - me and my dumb ideas of course it doesnt work.do you know how i can get it to work. Perhaps i should mention that the button that loads in at level 2 is inside a movie clip (for reasons of animation)

I am trying to make a button jump to a label in the main timeline from within a movieclip but I dont think i have the syntax etc correct. I'm getting "access of undefined property _root" when I run the following code. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong here? heres the code..

In the main timeline I have several movie clips, buttons and labels that navigate to the appropriate mc's. Inside the movie clip I have a button that will send you back to the main timeline and the appropriate label. I thought that would be relatively easy but it's not working.[code]...

For the life of me I can't figure out how to trace out the current label in my movie's main timeline. This is in AS3. I have a button on stage that spans the timeline of the movie. It detects keypresses. I want to trace the current frame label that the play head is on.

I get "_level0" for this...and undefined for the rest. What am I doing wrong here?

I have a main movie and a sidebar movie within it. In the sidebar movie, there is a tab that will insert text from an XML document based on the location of the playhead in the main timeline. I was thinking there must be some way to do an 'if else' statement to have the sidebar movieclip look for the playhead location in the main movie and get the appropriate child node based on that. However, I am not experienced enough in AS3, and I don't think I'm writing the function correctly. Here is the code, but there is also a link to the file I'm working with in case this code doesn't make sense:

I have a combo box, and when a item from the drop down is selected I want to jump to a frame label on the timeline...Thats it.I dont know how to go about setting it up.I think it must be something Im not doing within the component inspector...Ive given the combo box the instance name of myComboBox here is the code I'm using:

I have a movieClip, with other movieClips inside of it, objects that I want when hit to lose points. But when I have the movieClips inside that one, it just has a giant "boundry box". I want the points to go down when you hitting only one of those items,instead it just goes does throughout the entire thing.
There is no way for me to scroll all those objects across the screen without either making a tween on the main timeline for each object (almost 20), or somehow making a giant movieClip scroll all of them all the way across, bypassing the first boundry box, and acknowledging the movieClips.

I am trying to "gotoAndStop" on a frame in a nested timeline from the main timeline, but can't seem to figure out the correct way to write it with it's 'parents' etc... this is how I have tried which makes sense to me (have tried other ways too) but no success.

So I have a frame labeled 'init' and a button called _exit. I want _exit on click to keep going back until it reaches 'init'

I'm trying to go to the next frame in the main timeline from a class with no luck.
I have a movieclip called winner_mc that is created in the document class.
winner_mc is linked to the Winner class.
The Winner class creates a movieclip called nextlevel_mc which is linked to the Nextlevel class.
Then when I click on the nextlevel_mc movieclip I want to go to the next frame on the main timeline.
I tried this for the Nextlevel class:

I just added a motion tween on the main timeline only to realize it doesn't run. Only frame 1 is executed, including its AS3 code. No I could not locate any stop() command within the AS3 code.

I made an RPG, and I'm trying to make the movie itself go to the second/next frame. But whenever I try to do that, nothing happens at all. I tried _level0.gotoAndStop(2) and _root.gotoAndStop(2), both on a frame and on a movie clip.
It's suppose to initiate this function once a certain variable (_root.numbers) reaches 20, and I've tested if the variable does reach 20 by doing other things.

This button is supposed to gotoAndPlay frame 365 outside of the mc i created within that button, ie on the main timeline. But it does not work.
