Have an array which contains items in a comma delimited list such as below:

Am trying to use toString().split to further seperate them into individual entries in the array and it ain't working.

I'm trying to take the letters I have in a string var, eg "EXAMPLE", and display them in a textField like so:[code]Maybe I'm trying to make it too complicated, but I can't seem to figure it out. View 1 RepliesI have piece of ActionScript code which is supposed to evaluate a string of HTML and break it up into individual pieces. So a string like <p>Hi</p><span>Hi</span><a href="index.php">Hi</a> would be translated into:
1. <p>Hi</p>
2. <span>Hi</span>
3. <a href="index.php">Hi</a>
...
However, when I run a test version of this code, I get a value of null in return. I'm pretty sure my regexp string is good, but I'm doing something wrong in ActionScript. My code is below:

I have an array which has strings for the key instead of numbers. when i use .toString() on this array, it does not output a string, leading me to believe that .toString only works when you have numerical keys. Is there an easy way I could compare two of the above arrays?

I'm learning Flash to make a website for one of the companies I work forI have a decent portfolio page that loads content information from an .xml document. I'm just thrilled that it works, but my boss wants a little more.He wants to be able to scroll through the entries with left and right keystrokes. In the glow of my recent array-building triumph, I told him, 'sure, I can do that!' ...but I can't. I can't figure out how to make the left and right keys go to previous or next entries. With previous problems I've been able to find an answer by searching google, but I'm stuck on this one.

i need to split a large text file into an array at line breaks so one array element = one line.i have tried the using "" in both match() and in RegExp but it doesnt work.i had the g and m flags on. tried the $ sign too.

I have an array of 48 MovieClips separated into 6 columns and 8 rows. I dont want the user to have to scroll down so I would like to separate this array into 3 pages with 18 on each page (the last page would only have 12) with arrows to go from page to page. How do I accomplish this?

I have an external .txt file that contains data some variables with strings in them. I need to be able to tell if a string has a certain type of character in it. Like for example "no,yes"I want to detect the "," and split that string up at that point and assign the "no" and the "yes" to variables.Similarly if I have the string"1-100" or 1-2-3-4-5-6-7I want to detect the "-" and split that string up at that point and assign the "1" and the "100" to variables or 1-2-3-4-5 to variables

I know is simple, but I never had experience with arrays in flash before, I just realized join("") was used to convert the Array to string, but isn't split reversing this?
