I have this [code]...
And It seems to work but this is creating a new rect. Which I do not want.
And I have tried ColorTransform, and that changes everything, even the border, which is not what I wanted. And I am not able to colortransform and then set the border color.
So how can I change the color of a sprite without changing the border color?

I have created a sprite as below:
var arrowHeadRight:Sprite = new Sprite();
with(arrowHeadRight.graphics){
beginFill(0xDDDDDD, 1);
moveTo(50,0);
lineTo(0,50);
[Code]...
On Mouse Over, I wish to change the color of the fill on this shape? Can this be done or do I have to re-draw the graphics with an updated beginFill line?

Detail: I am reading some data from SVG and getting them as Sprite objects; now I need to change the fill color of these sprite objects dynamically without affection the outline color. I gave it a try with ColorTransform but that changes everything in the object.
PS: I already tried searching the forum for the same thing but search seems to have some technical issues... therefore had to
create new topic :(

Happy New Year 2010 everyone :) Just getting back into the Flash groove, and having a simple question.I have a movie(video player) where the color of the buttons changes. I've already drawn out the buttons and created a 1 color box(movieClip) that will be the background of all the buttons.
I've used ColorTransform to change the color of a rectangle that I used code to create, but what is the simplest way to go about changing a color in a movieClip containing a graphic that you physically have drawn out. Path to movieClip that I need to change the HEX value of: controls.btn_Sound.colorChip

trying to make a slider that changes the line thickness in a drawing app that I would to share with my students. When moved from left to right a circle changes scale. This circle would act as a visual reference on the stage telling the viewer that the line thickness is changing. Right now I just want to figure out how to connect the slider so that the circle changes dynamically. Once I get that I feel I can figure out how to connect it to lineStyle(). The current code I am attaching has the circle change size at onle two points-the far left and far right. I keep trying to write something that uses mouseX properties but so far nothing is working.

Right now I create a paint program, which will consist of _xmouse, _ymouse, different colors to draw lines, different sizes. But I have a problem:
_root.line.lineStyle(size,0x00ff99,100);
The size is the thickness of the pen. But it don't seems to work inside of that script.

I have drawn intersecting lines. The user can click on a region inside the angle formed by the two lines.When the user clicks inside the area, the small region formed by the arc between the two lines showing the angle should change. How can I do that.the region between the intersecting lines is sprite object to dispatch event listener, but the arc is shape object.

(Im using CS4 and actionscript 2)
I have some movieclips with a graph (not generated, manually drawn). I want to change the thickness of the line inside the movie clip. How do I do that?
When I move the mouse over the line the graph must highligt (become thicker). I can do this with the line as a button, mouse-over graphics. But I also need to highligt the graph when the mouse is over some text (to link the graph with the text). If I have 2 - or several - buttons can I have them all show the mouse-over image at the same time, if the mouse is over just one of them?
Another ideer: I have made an actionscript the fades (using alpha 0 and 100) for 2 similar movieclips each with different thickness positioned over each other. But the initial value for both lines is a problem, only the thin line must be shown, the thick line must be alpha=0. If I set it at the start of the actionscript then it resets every time the flash starts over. Is there some way to set the inital value (alpha=0) just once? When the flash playes first time?

What I am trying to do is to have the button color change to a different color when it is on the page. The color only changes when I roll over it or hit it. Once I am on the page it changes back to the color it is on the up state.

I am trying to change the color of my movieclip, but am having alot of trouble targetting it. Its within a button, that is within another movieclip, its path looks something like:
root.fullgrid.b1x1.planetfill
fullgrid is movieclip
b1x1 is button
planetfill is movieclip <---this is the one I'm trying to change color.
function change color(e:Event):void { var colorTransform:ColorTransform = target.transform.colorTransform; colorTransform.color = 0xFF0000; target.transform.colorTransform = colorTransform;
}
I am able to change the color of a movieclip on the stage, so I know the code works, its just a targetting issue.

How can I change the color of a movieclip dynamically and still keep it's filters? For example:
I have a movieclip on stage with a bevel filter on it. I then want the movieclip to change from blue to red when it's moused over and vise versa when moused out.
The color values I have are hexidecimal: 0xff0000, 0x0000ff
How can I do this? I tried colortransform but when I use that it changes color but removes filters.

I'm trying to get a movieclip fill color to change once clicked. I'm able to get the mouseover and mouseout working. But the click state isn't working properly.Here's my code:
Code:
Code:
my_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_OVER, onFolderOver, false, 0, true);
my_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_OUT, onFolderOut, false, 0, true);
my_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, showMovieclip, false, 0, true);[code]......
When I use the above code, nothing happens once clicked. I tried using the color property, but, although that made a color change (black),it wasn't the color I had indicated (white).What I have is a movieclip ("my_mc"). Inside the movieclip are other movieclips. When one is clicked, only that movieclip ("my_mc.movieclip01"), is highlighted.

I am trying to change the color of an image within a MC using color matrix. What I want to do is adjust he hue, saturation, contrast, and brightness so I can create a realistic color change without affecting shadows when you click on a color box. I have played with the filters within the application and can achieve it but want to do so with actionscript.
On each button I have a code similar to...
on (release){
_root.page = "color2";
_root.myClickedBtnFunction();
}
Then within the primary timeline I have if then's under the myClickedBtnFunction to the effect of...
if (_root.btn=="color2"){
code will go here...
}
Here is a link to the file I am trying to apply the effect to [URL].
