Actionscript 3 :: Change The Color Of One Shape By Clicking On Clicking Another Object Of Sprite?
Aug 30, 2011
I have drawn intersecting lines. The user can click on a region inside the angle formed by the two lines.When the user clicks inside the area, the small region formed by the arc between the two lines showing the angle should change. How can I do that.the region between the intersecting lines is sprite object to dispatch event listener, but the arc is shape object.
My Flash animation is basically similar to this link provided by Adobe Developers.The Flash is about star moving in depth space to makes the star looks alike in 3D.I am going to implement the button to change the color of that object (star).I'm creating 3 new symbols and draw each a rounded-square button filled with red, green and blue respectively.So, I wish to click that button when running, and when I select red button, the star will changing to red color for all.
I want to do a flash application follow the imape file I attached here, does anyone know how to change a shape to random shape when clicking using as3?
2 frames 2 shapes one moves to second frame other to first upon click with AS3 on second frame shape after i click copy of cursor snaps there and stay check attached file.
i'd like to add all or most of my mouse events to stage, but in order to do that i need to be able to tell what is the type of the sprite being clicked.i've added two sprites to the display list, one of which is from a class called Square, the other from a class called Circle.
var mySquare:Sprite = new Square(); var myCircle:Sprite = new Circle(); addChild(mySquare);[code]...........
so far i know how to do is determine if it IS a sprite display object, but since i'll only be working with sprites i need something more specific.rather than checking "is Sprite", is there a way i can check "is Square" or "is Circle"?
I've been trying to copy footers from this site just to see if I could make them. And well, i'm kinda trying to make one like ahmed's. Where when you click a square it changes from grey to white, and then back if you click it again. but I'm not trying to have it save designs like his (i'm not nearly that good). Here's what I've got so far. I've just got 2 squares, but when i click one, they both turn white, why?
Now I am working on a site where I have six buttons for a portfolio. The only way I have loaded new content to the stage was in the event handler for the button I would load a new .swf. So each button had it's own corresponding .swf. It worked fine but is this they common way this task is done?I am asking because now I will have some sub buttons for one tab in my project and I am thinking this is going to be a lot of set up to get more separate swfs made just to load per button. Made me start wondering if there was a better way.
I have a mc tracking as a button with a working on(release) statement. Within the on release statement is this code that doesn't work for me: _root.playbtn.pause_mc._visible = true; _root.playbtn.play_mc._visible = true; The first layer of the button has a mc with instance called play_mc And the second layer of the button with a mc instance called pause_mc The button instance on the stage is called playbtn.
But when I go to click on something it uses the mouse's pointer still. I'd like to be able to drag with any part of my custom cursor(which is larger than a mouse).I've tried making a hit box that detects when the mouse is near the clip but it doesn't work onsistently(sometimes it just clicks like normal).Is there to make the clicking area of the mouse change?
I created four instance of movieclip on stage and named them t1_mc,t2_mc,t3_mc,t4_mc. Then I made and array and loaded them inside the array
var arr1:Array = new Array( t1_mc, t2_mc, t3_mc, t4_mc ); var names:String; //function made to add event listener to each object function addListner():void { for ( var i:uint = 0; i < arr1.length; i++ ) [Code] .....
I've seen a tutorial for changing the background inside of flash based on buttons to click. However, these colors were palettes and not of backgrounds such as jpeg. What I'd like to do is to create 3 buttons and place them on my flash website. These three buttons allow the user to click on them thus changing the background. So if you're visiting the about page and click one of these buttons, I don't want the user to go back to the home page after clicking.
So, here is what I'm trying to do. I have a page full of characters for a project I'm working on now, and I want to add some interactivity to the page by making each of the characters clickable and having a description of the character pop up that you can then close. I have included 3 images of what I'd ideally like tohappen.Picture 1: The page in just a normal state, nothing happening.Picture 2: On rollover, I would like the character to pop out and enlarge.I know how to make it enlarge on rollover, but I don't understand how you would make it come to the front above other layers. with understanding how to do.
Picture 3: I want a description like this to pop up when you click on the character. I have a layer at 50% opacity to fade the background out as well. I need to know how to:1. Make this image show up when you click on the respective character.2. Make this image disappear when you click on the red X button at the top right
I have a menu MovieClip that has its buttons inside of it. I have the menu with a MousEvent.CLICK and trying to figure a way to register what you are clicking on.
I've been working a game where you drag an object onto a grid. This then 'grows' over time. Once it has taken about 5 seconds to grow, the player can click on it (only 5 seconds for debugging reasons) and 'collect' money as a result. The problem I'm having however. Is that I cannot remove it once the timer even has occurred. I get the 2007 parameter error, child must be non null. Problem is, I don't see how it is null as I've already defined it? I'm rather lost - and somewhat new to AS3.
Code: private function placeSeeds(e:MouseEvent):void { var seedsRow:int=Math.floor((mouseY-300)/75); var seedsCol:int=Math.floor((mouseX-150)/65); // check tiles if (seedsRow>=0&&seedsCol>=0&&seedsRow<3&&seedsCol<3&&itemsArray[seedsRow][seedsCol]==0) { var placedSeeds:lolMC=new lolMC();// constructs the object [Code] .....
I'll try to be brief. I've built a teleprompter projector file app in Flash CS4 and it works great on PCs & MACs. Only one bug. the program works in three phases: Welcome & instruction screen / Text input screen / Prompter screen.Problem occurs when you first enter prompt screen
basic navigation and functionality includes:
BUTTONS: button to return to INPUT screen, a BEGIN button, a MIRROR text button, and a SAVE prompting position KEYBOARD: SPACE begin prompting, LEFT & RIGHT ARROW increase & decrease font size, UP & DOWN ARROW increase & decrease scrolling speed, HOME returns script to top, PAGE UP & PAGE DOWN moves script by 600 pixels.
MOUSE: MOUSE_WHEEL increases and decreases scrolling speed *(would like to add a ctrlKey modifier to change font size on mouse wheel - another day perhaps)
THE PROBLEM: When you enter the prompt screen and hit PAGE DOWN the script correctly moves down 600 pixels, but does not redraw on the stage. If you then hit PAGE UP it correctly moves up and the text is back on the stage. Hit PAGE DOWN again and it moves but does not render. You can repeat this continuously. I have a Y position reference that shows the Y coordinates of the text field, so I'm confident that the MC is correctly moving, it's just not rendering. If you hit PAGE DOWN and hit BEGIN the text renders in the correct place. Once you start the prompter, you can stop it and use PAGE DOWN and it renders correctly, but if you change the font size larger > 100 and hit PAGE DOWN the font again does not render. Again if you hit BEGIN the font renders correctly in the correct position.
WHAT I THINK: I've been trying to find a way to update or refresh the text field that is being manipulated on PAGE DOWN and font increase; no luck with updateAfterEvent or redraw. I've tried to start and stop the prompter programmatically in one frame at the end of the PAGE DOWN function & font increase.
POSSIBILITIES OR NEW STRATEGY? I'm a media production specialist with a school district in Florida, and I'm hoping to release this app to all our schools and to sourceforge.net. It's a small bug, but I'd rather not have to explain it if I can find a way to fix it. The following code block only contains the functions related to the navigation and prompter text box manipulation.
//Begin button toggle code.Toggle between begin and stop.startBtn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_OVER, startOver);function startOver(e:MouseEvent)[code].....
A Visual Basic & ASP.NET programmer I work with looked at the bug with me, and he believes the error is somehow related to the actual CLICK of the BEGIN button. As I noted earlier, we tried a workaround by using code to start and stop the prompter in one frame after the font size change, but that did not correct the issue. Yet when you physically click begin with the mouse it renders the text.What is it about clicking the mouse that causes the text box to render? Is it a focus issue? Like the keyboard has focus, but when you click BEGIN it returns focus to the text box and it redraws then?
It's a Submit Form (name, age, etc...)If I have 4 font types embeded (eg. Arial / Varadana / Comic Sans / Eras) how can I create a drop down list of the fonts where anyone could select - change (runtime) the FONT TYPE by clicking the name?
the code works fine , but actually i want the "Object(parent).showHighScores();" to be load automatically without clicking the button (auto call the function once the page loaded), i tried use Event.Enter_frame but it wont stop running,
an animation created with the Bones tool. I'm using a bone system to deform a shape.In the meantime I decided that the color of the IK shape should be other than the current one. Nonetheless I can't find a way to change its color while maintaining the shape within the armature.
i have 187 movieclip and i need change shape color every movieclip. every movieclip have 7 shapes in 7 different frames. in other words i need to change 1309 shape color. houston i don't want do that
I am working on a project that some one else created. There were very orgainized, but my question is this: There is a starburst shape, and in the property inspector it is labeling as yellow burst, and that's how it shows in the library. But one instance of it is red in the movie, and I can not find it to change or delete as they called everything dynamically. how this was done, or how I might locate this object?
I am having a difficult time getting the Astra TabBar to do anything except be able to pass in my DataProvider array. I am trying to get it to simply trace a "click" using the CHANGE event when clicking on a tab. Nothing happens and I'm not sure why.
I have Flash CS5 and cannot get the pencil or in k tool to change color it stays at the layer color only. When I make a shape and pick paint bucket tool it will not add the color I am choosing.
I have a PNG that is a child of sprite object. The PNG consists of a shape in the middle of a transparent background (the alpha value is zero). I want to change the color of the sprite, but I do not want to change the transparent background.
And It seems to work but this is creating a new rect. Which I do not want.
And I have tried ColorTransform, and that changes everything, even the border, which is not what I wanted. And I am not able to colortransform and then set the border color.
So how can I change the color of a sprite without changing the border color?
var arrowHeadRight:Sprite = new Sprite(); with(arrowHeadRight.graphics){ beginFill(0xDDDDDD, 1); moveTo(50,0); lineTo(0,50);
[Code]...
On Mouse Over, I wish to change the color of the fill on this shape? Can this be done or do I have to re-draw the graphics with an updated beginFill line?
