Actionscript 2.0 :: Stage.width - Make A Minimum Width And Stop Resize?
May 27, 2009
is there a way to make a minimum width and stop resize? I have a menu I am building that is locked to the bottom of the browser and 3 buttons on the left and a movieClip on the right. When you resize the browser window - currently - you can make the button on the right sink under the three on the left.
When you resize the browser window the thumbnails rows and columns adjust accordingly to fit.I've managed to attach the thumbnails correct when my enableButtons() function is called but i'm unsure how to approach resizing.
Stage.align = "TL"; var numberOfGalleries:Number = 20; var thumbMarginX:Number = 163; var thumbMarginY:Number = 109;
I understand how to resize the stage to 100% x 100%, but it seems exceptionally difficult trying to keep a footer MC/Sprite/Shape 20px high yet 100% wide.
I can use EXACT_FIT, but if the browser shrinks or expands the movie clip changes size. Keeping that height static is a pain at the moment!
So, basically I'm just looking for direction. The liquid layout tutorials seem to work for elements NOT stretched 100%...
I want to set width and height of the stage during resize of that swf..I do it in resize event handling..but doesn't work..any other way to achieve this?[code]
I want the background to resize the width to the stage and height but it stays at 150 x when the stage resize and scale the contents according to the xscale and yscale of the background . http:[url].....
how to get a movieclip named "topnav" to resize it's width to match that of the stage. I am trying to resize the width of a top nav bar across a resizable RIA. I have started with the following code but with only partial success:
Code: stage.addEventListener(Event.RESIZE, resizeListener); function resizeListener (e:Event):void { var reg2 = stage.stageWidth / 100;
trace ("The Width is: " + stage.width + "."); trace ("The Height is: " + stage.height + "."); The Width is: 0. The Height is: 0. Why is it Zero instead of the document's size ?
I have created a spark ButtonBar which is dynamically populated with XML and skinned to look like a standard TabBar. When I used the TabBar in Flex 3, the width of each Tab would shrink or grow to the size of the Label, plus a little padding either side. When using the spark ButtonBar in Flex 4, I find that no matter how short the label (even an empty string), the Buttons will be at least 70 pixels wide, and will expand for longer labels. I have tried setting the minWidth to 20 in various places, including on my ButtonBarButton skin, but this has no effect.
I am trying to build my portfolio which is coming along fine.
I do however have a problem.. I want the site (SWF) to scale according to browser size.But, I want to implement a maximum and minimum width and height.
I dont want it to scale so that it is bigger than my stage size (1365px x 845px), and I dont want it to scale so that it can be smaller than for instance (800px x 600x). And I also want the SWF to be centered at all times.
If you need to see a working example you can see what I am trying to achieve on this site: [url]....Take a look at the slideshow when you enter the site, and try resizing your browser window. You'll notice that the pictures will shrink, but won't scale above their obvious 100% size. I tried looking at the page source, but I didnt understand much. Looks like they have used Actionscript for the resizing/aligning.
I am developing an application that includes JPG and TIFF image size validation. The backend is done is done in PHP. I am wondering if there is anyway to validate the minimum width and height of those images in Flex or if they have to be uploaded to PHP and validated there.
I have 2 movieClips which I want to make the height and width of the stage. It's worked fine in the first instance (pun, wahey!) but when I add in the second (blackOver) it stops the buttons working and all sorts.
I am trying to reference to top level (stage) width and height of the main stage for the placement of something located inside a movieclip on the stage.
My code is: Code: my_loader.x = (stage.stageWidth - my_loader.width)/2; my_loader.y = (stage.stageHeight - my_loader.height)/2;
But this seems to just relate to the width/height of the mc that my_loader is nested in...
when i create stage and make its width and height in pixels Web Browsers show it with pixels too. so i want to make a stage which width and height would be 100% in web browsers. i just want to place buttons and some stuffs on the top and right of the web browser.
I have a Movieclip on stage with nested movieclips inside. All referenced at 0,0. None of the child movieclips load any dynamic content, animate or have Masked Layers. It does have an input textfield in one of the child MCs. The parent MC shows 280 px width, while it returns 313 px with a .width trace. There is no code that alters the .width value of the parent MC at run-time. And the ParentMC on stage is not scaled (it is at 100% width/height)
Basically I want to make some flash which I am going to import into dreamweaver. The flash I am making needs to be as wide as the users screen. So basically i need to make my stage width the same as either screen resolution, or browser sizer, and then put my bar going full width of stage. What is the code for making the stage same width as screen?
I have an HBox with a fixed Width and Height and a Border. In that HBox I have a viewStack with a few different views.When the viewStack changes views, I want the HBox container to keep resizing to its content. Currently it stays at the fixed width.Is there any way to do that with an HBox setting?
It's probably a no brainer, but I've spent the last 40 minutes or so looking for it to no avial.
I have a Canvas control with a fixed width and a horizontal scrollbar.I'm trying to find the actual width of the control.The .width (fixed width) + the part being revealed by the scrollbar.I tried explicitWidth, width + maxHorizontalScrollPosition, and some other combos but non of them hit the spot.
I am looking at the SimpleButton entirely wrong. Here's what I'm doing (inside of a MovieClip):
[Code]...
the close_btn.width and height remain 0. Am I supposed to just rely on the DisplayObject members of the SimpleButton completely and ignore width/height/x/y or what?
I have created a line (on the stage) where the height is 10px and the width is 2px. To resize it, I have converted it into a symbol (MovieClip) and given it an instance (let's say li ).
However, when I enter...li.height = 200; or resize the MovieClip with the mouse, the line is 200px tall, but it has also grown considerably thicker! However, if I go into the MovieClip, click on the Drawing and resize it there, I the line stays nice and thin.
I am building a xml driven website in flash an my client want the website should fit the browser of the costumer and when they scale browser the website must adjust accordingly but he also ask me to the website must not be smaller than 850 height and 1000 width, and must not be bigger than 1100 hight and 1440 width. Please help me because i never done such project coz i am fairly new to actionscript and flash design, i am graphics design trun flash developer.
i have different size (wxh) swf files, and i have to load different swf in one SWf file(say name sample.swf) now what my problem is when i load different swf in my sample.swf either it crop disply if bigger swf load or it leave space if it small..
I need a script which can animate an objects resize through AS. I know that on (rollOver) { _root.reBox._width = 100; } on (rollOut) { _root.reBox._width = 50; } Will jump my MC "reBox" to 100px on rollover and to 50px on Rollout, but how do I get AS to animate the transition - basically a tween!
