Is there a property that returns the width of the tileList minus the width of the scrollbar?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Finding The Radiobutton Width?
Sep 9, 2009I'm creating a form in flash where the radiobuttons line up horizontally (i'm not in control of design). But i cannot get an accurate width on the radiobuttons. For some reason every time i check for a width it's 100 pixels. Upon adding the button the textField doesn't have an accurate width either, so i can't even go by it.
I created a change event, and when i trace the textfield width and x position they are correct, but i need to be able to correctly place these objects upon creation.

Oct 12, 2009Once I've set either the width or percentWidth property on a flex label, is there a way to reset the width to its default (i.e., the width of the text plus padding)? I'm using the label as a renderer. In some cases, I'd like it to automatically size to the text, and in other cases, I'd like it to be a percentage width of its container. Obviously, I could use two separate labels, one for each of the above cases, but I'm curious if it's possible to reset the label to its default behavior.

Oct 7, 2009I am loading in a list of thumbnails from an XML file. The images are not always square but one of the dimensions is always 50pixels, whether it be height or width. Occasionally an image IS square. I am creating a 52x52 sprite and adding the loader image as a child to this sprite centrally. To do this I need to know the dimensions of the loaded images. (the loader object). Everything loads, parses and displays as it ought to, I just cannot find the width/height of the loaded image. Pics1List is an XML file.

As you can see, I tried a few different things and frankly in the end just tried each combination I could!. The closest I got was when I used imageLoader.contentLoaderInfo.width and the error message was "The loading object is not sufficiently loaded to provide this information." which is why I added the event.complete function. However, this function never triggered so I commented it out.

Apr 6, 2011How do I find the total maximum width and height of a movie clip with respect to every frame of that movie clip?
So for instance if the movie clip was circles of radius 5 registered at their center at various positions where:
frame 1:circle.x=-30
frame 2:circle.x=0
frame 3:circle.x=30
The total maximum width of movie clip would be 30--30+5+5=70.

Mar 8, 2010I have a Movieclip on stage with nested movieclips inside. All referenced at 0,0. None of the child movieclips load any dynamic content, animate or have Masked Layers. It does have an input textfield in one of the child MCs. The parent MC shows 280 px width, while it returns 313 px with a .width trace. There is no code that alters the .width value of the parent MC at run-time. And the ParentMC on stage is not scaled (it is at 100% width/height)

I've tried several software to change the video dimensions but as far as it seems all of them keep the same height-width ratio than in the original video. Feb 21, 2011So I'm displaying data with a tilelist and a scrollbar. I want the use of the scrollbar, but I don't want totally free scrolling. For the rows I'm displaying vertically, I don't want to be showing like half a row, I want it to snap. I know this can be achieved with the up / down buttons of the scrollbar, but that's not the way I want it to work How would I be able to ensure that only a full row can be shown when scrolling?I've taken a look at the event you get when you subscribe to ScrollEvent from <TileList>.verticalScrollbar and they run through fl.controls::ScrollBar/handleThumbDrag and l.controls::Scrollbar/setScrollPosition before getting there, which obviously sets how the tilelist should be displayed.

May 7, 2009I would like to modify the scrollbar (vertical) of the tilelist component so that there is some space between the top of the scrollbar and the top of the tilelist. Currently, the scrollbar extends the the top and bottom edges of the tilelist. I would like to add a graphic above the scrollbar but below the top of the tilelist. I can't seem to figure out how to do this. I'm working 100% in AS 3 within Flex Builder.
The attached image (picture 3) shows what I would like it to look like (with the yellow lines). Picture 4 shows what it looks like currently.
