Jan 20, 2009I am using a simple xml file to populate a dynamic text box. When I play the movie the text is coming up as a different font.

Jun 29, 2009On the website I'm currently working on:I'm running into a problem with my flash pages. If you click on About Us from the menu, on every computer but mine the About Us header at the end of the animation shows up as regular text and not the style I used.Here is a screen shot of what it is suppose to look like:on why this would happen? I thought it may be because the font wasn't installed throughout, but it's the same font as "embrace hope' which comes up fine.

Nov 2, 2010I have a preferences option at the beginning of my app. It calls in some values from an XML file and passes them to a static var and to myCheckbox.selected which should display a checked box if the value is true. The values are being passed fine, but the checkbox isn't showing up as checked.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Font Embedding Settings Won't Stay Selected
Apr 28, 2011Under what circumstances might the embedded font selections not stay selected? I have a group of dynamic text boxes embedded in a movie clip, programmed to run as a timer. The timer dosn't display the numbers and I get a message on the output box noting that "Fonts should be embedded...etc" I had the same trouble with the score, but when I set the embedded fonts, it works now and those settings keep. They will not stay selected for the text boxes inside the timer movie clip. I can go into font embedding, select any of them, hit okay, go back in and they'll all be unselected.Why is it doing this? I have to assume, this must be the reason the timer isn't showing the numbers, especially now that the score display works after setting it for that.

Mar 13, 2009I have an English based flash set that I'm localizing in Japanese. The client has written to embed the fonts in a font.swf. So I figured I can just add 'New Font' for Japanese fonts, add the class ID to the script file:

'MSUIGothicReg', 'MSUIGothicBold']);
then export the fonts,swf, and launch the main.swf, JPN fonts should show up correctly. But instead, I get blanks for Japanese characters. Does anyone know what I missed? I've tried other methods: 1) add a layer in main file, 'Character Embedding' in Properties; 2) 'Character Embedding' each text boxes in main; none has worked.

Jul 25, 2011I have a site I was working on that I am using two main fonts in. I had the fonts embedded in the SWF. I upgraded to CS 5.5 this morning, now some of the fonts have changed.
I have two SWF's that when loaded into the main site, no longer have the correct font. When I preview them independently, they are fine. When they load into the main SWF they use a standard font instead of the embedded one.

Nov 29, 2011henever I try to embed fonts for dynamic text fields, no text appears in my text box. The text is loaded into the dynamic field from another variable, long story short it all works, except for if I try to embed fonts. One thing, the dynamic textbox is html enabled, and I have <b> tags within the code, so the text ends up being bold. This is how I want it. Do I have to 'embed' a bold variation of the font as well as the regular variation?

May 11, 2010So I have a MovieClip asset with a dynamic textfield sitting inside of it. I export my .fla as a .swc to use within Flash Builder 4, and create instances of the asset with code, populating the text dynamically from XML.
My issue is that even though I have htmlText enabled, bold and italics tags don't appear to be working. I have a feeling it is because when I created the asset in Flash CS4, the text field makes you specify the font, and the subset of that to use (Regular, Bold, Oblique, etc).
Is there any way to get the htmlText to render bold and italics tags properly without having to completely rethink the way I'm creating all these fields?

Feb 12, 2010I googled this relentlessly, but was unable to find an answer. I have a font --- P22 Hopper (PC Postscript Type 1) --- that does not show up accuratly in Flash CS4. The font is script, but it shows up as a generic sans serif. I have inserted a screenshot to illustrate. Oddly, this font shows up perfectly in all other CS4 products and also works fine in Flash 8.

Feb 7, 2011I'm trying to embed a font in my project by using url("font.ttf") rather than local("Font Name"), but it doesn't seem to pick it up. The font in question is called "Gotham Bold". When i view the details of the font, the font weight is regular, however when i use local("Gotham Bold") in the css i have to specify fontWeight: bold or else it wont pick it up. But when I use url("folderGotham-Bold.ttf"), and specify fontWeight: bold, it says that font weight is not found for that TTF. If i remove the fontweight, there's no errors, but the font is not applied to the text.

The font-family worked to all componentes, but not to the Alert component. In alert the text message and title got unvisible. If I change to other font-family it works correctly, just the embedded font doesn't work on Alert component. Anyone got this problem? Obs: The embedded font worked in all the app, just the Alert no.

Mar 23, 2011In my application I'm using a custom embedded font for English (Helvetica New) which does not contain characters (glyphs) for chinese unicode range. In the application, wherver chinese characters are avaiable they are not displayed (suppressed) since they are missing in the custom embedded font. How can I make the flash player to use a fallback system font for the missing characters? And the fallback should be for the missing characters alone. For the Engligh characters it should use the embedded font.

Nov 13, 2009I have generated an swf file that contains my embedded font of specified Unicode range, then I am loading this swf into my application. The code in the generated file for the font, automatically registers the font using the Font.registerFont method. I then load this swf file into my application, I never add it to the display list, I just created an instance of the file so that the code is executed to register the font.
Then I use the font name when I create embedded text fields and there you go it works... well it used to, I am not having any luck at the moment though. Sometimes it displays fine, other times it all appears cut off and I see a few pixels of the text I am trying to display.... Anyone else had a similar issue? Know what it might be? I have created a class below that I am using for the embedded font text, any issues people see with this?

My question is that how can i load the font swf dynamically from server and add them to the library and how can i use that swf to change the font of dynamic text field.
if there are embedded fonts in library the i can access them using this- --
