I tried to follow the augmented reality tutorial but I got stuck pretty soon. Is there a way I can embed the pattern and camera files in the flash-ide or do I need to have flex for this?

The files should be embedded on compilation, to load them via URLLoader is not an option.

View 2 RepliesIs it possible to embed the flv file in to the flash like other files(images, swf), so that i can handle this in as3 as programmaticaly in the same way as FLVPlayback component? I know the way to add flv file by creating FLVPlayback component. But in this case we always need to depend on the source path of corresponding file. I am not able to find any kind of solution for this. As second way I have imported flv file to the library and created the instance of this but there is some problem with the synchronization of audio with video. Also in this case I am not able to handle this flv in as3 as programmatically.

I'm trying to get a .swf (a game, with three total .swf files: main, title, game) onto my site and am having a problem. I understand how to actually do it and make it run (publish as HTML, copy/paste code in Dreamweaver, etc..), but my problem is having multiples .swf files and them not loading. When I embed code for one of the files, the page will play that .swf file and won't load the next .swf file (Main just contains a loader that loads title, Title will load the game .swf when prompted, Game will run). If I just 2x click the .swf files in my folder it will work, as will an .exe, but can I make it so each .swf file will play in HTML?
View 12 RepliesIn my effort to learn AS3 I have begun coding a game (as most people do, I guess) and I want to embed swc's I have created in the Flash IDE to use in Flash Develop. I've read a lot of tutorials online on how to do it but they either don't work or a few I cant wrap my head around. The movieclip that is being exported to swc has been set to AS3 and checked for Actionscript exporting. The base class is set to Movieclip.

When main swf loaded in HTML with an absolute link like:[URL].. It reports 404 error loading failed of file.swf
Because it looks for file.swf at current web host.What's the best way to do this without hard code absolute url in main.swf?

But there is no change in the appearance of the Text whatsoever.. I need the text to be crisp and clear.Just like the way it looks when we embed the fonts using the Embed... Button in the Flash IDE.
I'm writing a Flash game where the game levels are saved in small plain-text files, which I want to embed in the swf file. My current solution has a distinct code smell in its repetition, and I'm certain that there is a better way. My code is basically: In a LevelLoader class, embed all the levels

There are a couple of problems with this approach: I have to add a line for embedding each level. Optimally, all files in a folder would be automatically embedded.A level can't be "prepared" from a string. I'd like to be able to pass LevelLoader a level number or level name as a string.I think that all strings are stored in memory rather than on disk.How could I program this "correctly"?
I've been experimenting with learning game coding and have encountered an issue I'm curious about...
At the moment I have 3 GIFs and 1 sound effect being used, with more to come. Now, is it more recommended to embed these files, which I'm been doing, or is it better to load them externally? To be honest, I really hate the idea of having to load them and would much prefer to embed them directly in to my project. What is the general consensus as to which technique is better?
I'm in the process of making a web page that'll successfully checked as XHTML 1.0 Transitional ([URL]), but as soon as I place in the fixit.js script under the flash object and view the page in IE, all the flash elements turn white. Quote:

We have a flex application which compiles fine on windows box using mxmlc ant task but when we try to run the same build scripts on linux, it throws the 'Invalid Embed directive in stylesheet' error indicating it is not able to resolve the path to the image files.
Can someone pls. educate me on if there is a difference in the way the image files are looked up, in a CSS file, on windows vs linux.
Flex sdk version is 3.3. The same sdk is used on both windows and linux. Not sure if this has been fixed by any future 3.x sdks.
Making a piano/keyboard application and trying to figure out the best way to set this up .I plan on having a directory of sounds for each 'instrument' in my assets folder (piano1/C4.mp3,piano1/D4.mpg,...)Is there a way to import/embed all of these as an array? Also is there a way I can pass a variable to this class to indicate which folder I want to import these from? Something that would be ideal

I installed Flash CS4 Professional trial version for school use. It wouldn't install successfully. I deleted the font files the troubleshooting guide said to, tried again, but gave up. (I'm afraid to run regedit and mess up everything else I have loaded.) (I previously had the Fireworks CS4 trial version loaded, then uninstalled it.) My problem is this- I have it running, but it saves files and then they can't be opened, even if I use the save function often- it's worse when I create the file, test the movie and then save.If I try to open it again, it says "cannot open file." Once it opened a copy I had saved, and it appeared blank, even though it was 544 kb file size. I only need it for a few more days, one more assignment and I'm afraid my previous files are corrupt. I have Windows Vista Home Edition.

2)if i click on play it shows loading.even after it loads the file it doesnt change itz status. if i click again on play then itz status changes to play.my codes for flash.....

I am constructing a Flash animation and I was hoping to build it by scenes. These scenes would be individual SWF movies that I could import into my final Flash file in consequential order and when finished I would have a completed Flash Movie. There would be no interaction beyond Play/and replay. Where can I get information on how to construct this and is this a recomended way to do it?

View 4 RepliesIs there any solution to dynamic fonts yet. I have tried to write classes and followed so much stuff on various blogs but none of them is working. For example, i'm using a font(which is not installed in most machines) say "abc" on my Input and other TextFields/Combos/Radio etc. Now no matter whatever i do, it uses some default font instead of "abc" if accessed from a PC in which this font isn't installed.
One (bad)solution is to embed fonts using the Embed button in "Properties" FOR EACH TEXT FIELd seperately and increase the file size? Still this way wouldn't work for Combos and radio Btns.
When validating a site using w3c validator it tells me the embed tag is not valid markup. So i take it out and it works on safari/chrome but not firefox(3.5.x) but validates fine. Is there something in the object tag i must add in order for firefox to display flash.
