Css :: Flex 3 Embed Throws "Invalid Embed Directive In Stylesheet' Error On Linux
Mar 9, 2010
We have a flex application which compiles fine on windows box using mxmlc ant task but when we try to run the same build scripts on linux, it throws the 'Invalid Embed directive in stylesheet' error indicating it is not able to resolve the path to the image files.
Can someone pls. educate me on if there is a difference in the way the image files are looked up, in a CSS file, on windows vs linux.
Flex sdk version is 3.3. The same sdk is used on both windows and linux. Not sure if this has been fixed by any future 3.x sdks.
I'm trying to implement way so that stylesheets can be loaded on demand: Either the default stylesheet is used, which is compiled into the application file, or a remote stylesheet (.swf) is loaded if the default styles should not be used. (each stylesheet has embedded images)
So what I would like to do is: 1) Embed the stylesheet but not load it right away. Instead, store a reference to it inside a variable. (or simply a path string?) 2) Load the requested stylesheet, for example using StyleManager
My way of tackling the problem was like this: 1) Embed the default stylesheet as Code: [Embed(source="assets/themes/default.theme.swf")] _defaultThemeClass:Class; and turn it into a StyleSheet object
2) Have a separate class decide which stylesheet to use and call StyleManager.loadStyleDeclaration(myStyle), where myStyle can either be the remote or local stylesheet. As it seems, the StyleManager cannot load a local stylesheet. So I'm looking for a way to "activate" the style I have embedded.
If I use an Assignment within conditional, for e.g. if(userType='admin')
Flex throws a warning,unlike Java, which throws an error.Why should Flex be doing this, despite being one of the newest languages? 1100: Assignment within conditional. Did you mean == instead of =?
Making a piano/keyboard application and trying to figure out the best way to set this up .I plan on having a directory of sounds for each 'instrument' in my assets folder (piano1/C4.mp3,piano1/D4.mpg,...)Is there a way to import/embed all of these as an array? Also is there a way I can pass a variable to this class to indicate which folder I want to import these from? Something that would be ideal
var type = "piano2"; //passed from class being called by foreach(notes as note){ [Embed(source = 'assets/sounds/'+type +'/'+note+'.mp3')] private const C3:Class; public var c3:Sfx = new Sfx(C3); }
Or would it be a better idea to have a class for each of these "types" that pulls all notes?
But there is no change in the appearance of the Text whatsoever.. I need the text to be crisp and clear.Just like the way it looks when we embed the fonts using the Embed... Button in the Flash IDE.
I'm creating a wrapper SWF that needs to embed multiple swf's using the [Embed ] tag in Actionscript 3.How can i embed a custom swf when compiling a as3 project using the flex sdk, E.G:
I've been experimenting with learning game coding and have encountered an issue I'm curious about...
At the moment I have 3 GIFs and 1 sound effect being used, with more to come. Now, is it more recommended to embed these files, which I'm been doing, or is it better to load them externally? To be honest, I really hate the idea of having to load them and would much prefer to embed them directly in to my project. What is the general consensus as to which technique is better?
I've used FlexCover quite a bit before so this is absolutely absurd to me. No matter what version of the flex sdk (3.0, 3.2, or 4) that I apply the appropriate patches too, I get the following error when trying to compile:[code]I have absolutely no idea why this is happening. One thing that is odd however (and I'm hoping is the source of my problem) is that I can NOT download the SDKs that are specifically suggested by the Flexcover documentation. Copying folders on Mac OS X does not merge them and so I was losing the original jar's that needed to stay there.
In my AIR app,I am trying to implement a file downloader using URLStream.
public class FileDownloader { // Class to download files from the internet Function called every time data arrives[code].....
I simply create an object of the above class and passing the url and the file and call the load function. For some files I get the following error.
remotePath: http:[url].....error while writing bytes from...Error:Error #2029: This URLStream object does not have a stream opened.Which means the error is from the file stream(fileAccess) that I am using. I am unable to figure out why this could be happening. If I try to open the url http:[url]... in the browser, it opens properly. This happens randomly for some files.
I am working on a game in which there are several Plane objects that the player can click. My main application class extends the BasicView class. I made this whole game as an ActionScript project and everything works fine when I run it as one.
Now I load this game in a Flex application. When added to the Flex application, it runs perfectly until I click somewhere at which point it throws the following error:
undefined at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEventFunction() at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEvent() at org.papervision3d.core.utils.virtualmouse::VirtualMouse/update()[D:Omer
Is there any solution to dynamic fonts yet. I have tried to write classes and followed so much stuff on various blogs but none of them is working. For example, i'm using a font(which is not installed in most machines) say "abc" on my Input and other TextFields/Combos/Radio etc. Now no matter whatever i do, it uses some default font instead of "abc" if accessed from a PC in which this font isn't installed.
One (bad)solution is to embed fonts using the Embed button in "Properties" FOR EACH TEXT FIELd seperately and increase the file size? Still this way wouldn't work for Combos and radio Btns.
I am trying to embed a font. It is the same font but, different sizes ( I dont know if that matters, one size is 11 the other is 15). I set up my actionscript as so (please see below), but I continue to get this error message: 1151 A conflict exist with definition dtText2 in namespace internal. WHAT I AM DOING WRONG? And do I need another set of code if I am using the same font but instead of size=15; I am using size=11;?
var font3:Font=new Font3(); var dtFormat:TexFormat=new TextFormat(); var dtText2:TextField=new TextField(); dtFormat.Font=Font3.fontName; dtFormat.size=15;
[Code]...
Why is it giving me error 1151 A conflict exist.....? I have tried changeing the name of my var dtText2, and I even instance my dynamic Text, naming it myText2 but I continue to get errors.
I just copied Flex builder's generated html from the tags, and pasted in an ASP .NET page, the page shows up no errors , I can see a grey rectable the size of my flex file but there's nothing in it its blank and I am stumped why?? Why when it's showing up perfectly fine via the HTML file that flex generates.[code]
Since the [Embed(source="1.ttf", fontName="bla", fontWeight="Bold", imeType="application/x-font-truetype")] is not embeding fonts i want couse of errros like with helvetica i try otherway. Since Flash IDE always work nice with embed fonts. I made a SWF that embed the font i want. After I make a class that have a method that returns the fontname. In my flex app i load that SWF.. set a var to the fontname of the included SWF.
Now what i create a new textfield with textformat set to that fontname all work ok. But the quality of the font is so pixel. I tried the AntiAliasType etc.. no real effect. When i look in the SWF with the embed font.. it looks nice and smooth..
I'm building a website using Flex, Codeigniter, and I use swfobject to embed the swf. This will not work if I access the website using Codeigniter's index.php file. This is the ouput source:
[Code]...
My guess is that swfobject.js is not detected by codeigniter..
I am trying to embed a movieClip with flashDevelop but apparently its not working because its not recognizing the movieclips that are within it.[code]...
I'm very new in flash and flex and my first task is to be able to embed an SWF made in adobe cs4 using actionscript 3... the problem is I'm not able to embed it in Flex, it is weird though that if for example i add a sound to the swf file to be embedded in flash i'm able to hear the sound but it is not showing up (not visible) in the flex generated swf file
One other thing is if i try to set the flash swf to be embedded to use actionscript 2 then it gets shown in the flex generated swf but if i really need to be able to use actionscript 3 so no use for that
I'm quite new to developing in Flex. I've found out that it's possible to create mobile applications with Flex 4.5. So far so good, I've made an app and it's working well on my mobile phone. But there is one thing that I'm not very happy with. When I'm installing the app I also have to install Adobe Air (stand alone application). So is not realy cool and not the way to go in my opinion because this will look strange to the users of the app. And especially the users which aren't realy 'geek minded'.
Any solutions to this? Is it possible to include or embed Air in the app? It will make the filesize of the app bigger but that's a much smaller problem then having to install a complete different app next to the real app.All the best from NL.
I am having a list which is rendered to display images , name of all images is in dataprovider of list. Now i am unable to find how to make all images as embedded images as the name is coming from dataprovider?
Below is list: <s:List itemRenderer="imglist"> <s:dataProvider>
I am trying to implement a card game using Flash Professional CS5. Since flex makes the final size bigger, I do not want to use Flex for now. I have some difficulties to bind code logic with assets. I have a Deck class and Card Class and 52 card images which are converted to movie clips.
Option 1: I can create linkage to those movie clips means that I will have 52 different classes for each card and I have to create 52 different classes to put my functionality for each card.However I do not want to create 52 classes so is there any other solution?
Option 2: I found embedding asset paths to classes in Flex like that;
Code: [Embed(source="xxx")] public var customClass:Class;
So is there a way to make it without using flex in action script code?
