Basically it mounts a share as a network drive then runs through the share looking for swf files inside office documents.
In a webbapp hosted on its private server with linux(ubuntu server 10) , the users will upload documents(MS word, excel, powerpoint, pdf, etc..). We want to convert the files in swf(flash) objects , to embed them to the site. I saw a lot of websites having this future.

I have taken some video files from Final Cut Pro converted them to FLV's imported them and embedded them into flash to create some banners for the web. I need to know what settings I should use to get these out of Flash for the web.
Also I need to send them to someone to look at before publishing. What would be the best format to do that in and how to do it.
Also has anyone has any experience creating banners in or online ads in a Video format like FCP and embedding them into a flash file to export them in flash for we publishing. Sorry again for the dumb question, just new to Flash.
I need to protect images embedded in a swf file. I've noticed Swf Encrypt scrambles the images, like so:
How is something like this achieved ? How does image scrambling work ? I've noticed the image is stored a bitmap. Not sure how information is stored.I imagine it would be possible to use something like AS3SWF to access the content of a swf, but what would I need to change for the image swf tags ? I don't know much about security/obfuscation/encryption, so any tips will be handy. The programming language for this shouldn't matter much.
I am studying CS5 but I can't find help files or tutorials... is everything online now? Where should I go for help?
View 3 RepliesI am using a embeddable Flash based MP3 player (The standalone Version of Wordpress Audio Player, to be exact) to play audio on the web page of a client. Given the nature of Flash based players - AFAIK they all use Flash's audio/video decoding libraries - the exact player product might not matter, though. She complains that some specific audio files sometimes tend to play slowly, as if on a tape deck that doesn't run at full speed. Her machine is a 5 year old Sony Vaio with a 1.5 GhZ Pentium M Processor.
So it's not top of the line anymore but it should not have trouble decoding anything, let alone a MP3 audio stream. I can't verify the problem because we can't set up an audio connection (slow Internet on a remote island), nor can I reproduce it on my 3.3 GhZ dual-code Workstation, but this is a person whose error reports have seldom turned out unfounded in the past, so I tend to take them seriously. I see differences between the encodings of the MP3 files (see below). Any pointers towards which setting(s) to change?

View 3 RepliesI installed Flash CS4 Professional trial version for school use. It wouldn't install successfully. I deleted the font files the troubleshooting guide said to, tried again, but gave up. (I'm afraid to run regedit and mess up everything else I have loaded.) (I previously had the Fireworks CS4 trial version loaded, then uninstalled it.) My problem is this- I have it running, but it saves files and then they can't be opened, even if I use the save function often- it's worse when I create the file, test the movie and then save.If I try to open it again, it says "cannot open file." Once it opened a copy I had saved, and it appeared blank, even though it was 544 kb file size. I only need it for a few more days, one more assignment and I'm afraid my previous files are corrupt. I have Windows Vista Home Edition.

I'm in the process of making a web page that'll successfully checked as XHTML 1.0 Transitional ([URL]), but as soon as I place in the fixit.js script under the flash object and view the page in IE, all the flash elements turn white. Quote:

I am constructing a Flash animation and I was hoping to build it by scenes. These scenes would be individual SWF movies that I could import into my final Flash file in consequential order and when finished I would have a completed Flash Movie. There would be no interaction beyond Play/and replay. Where can I get information on how to construct this and is this a recomended way to do it?

View 4 RepliesFrom the Sound Class information, it says to use the SoundMixer Class to handle embedded Sound Files. I have two sound files embedded, that I have setup in 2 separate layers, starting at frame one in the main timeline. I needed to do this so I could see the wave files, and coordinate text with the waves. I do not want to load these files into the .swf file at runtime using URLRequest. How do I get a handle on those as they exist, to make each controllable by separate volume and mute controls for each sound?
This will be a challenging question, because, "it can't be done" doesn't work for me. I managed to create a way to use an external classfile to control the main timeline, the ROOT timeline, without having to create a sub movie to root. I can use my component to call play(); as though it were in code in a frame. But it isn't, it's in an external classfile. I passed root to the classfile and told the classfile to think of it as a movieclip - that put the handle on it. I tried similar way with root as a Sound, but that isn't detailed enough - I need to get a handle on the frame that contains the embedded sound file. I embedded, attached it, using the properties view for the frame.
I've attached, or whatever you want to call it, these sound files to a frame, and this frame is or should be attached to the layer I've created. So, under the assumption that the ROOT has everything attached to it in some manner (it is after all the foundation for the COM), the stage of the root contains the visual components, so ROOT has to have the layer objects attached to it, which should have the frame objects attached to the layers. I have two layers that each have a .wav file attached to frame one. Somehow Flash keeps track of that - I want to know how Flash does it so I can read what flash reads.
I have a Flash site that has two separate areas of navigation: "root.swf" is the main file and by default loads "welcome.swf". If you click on one of three other links in "root", it takes you to one of those three pages.
I need to have various .flv files play individually on command from the timeline (when separate buttons are clicked), but I need those to load externally but appear as though they are a part of "welcome.swf". [code]...

I'm not getting an error message, so I assume the AS is written correctly. That's what's so confusing. The files are not upload to a server yet -- everything is local. What happens is, let's say, I use FF to view the html file, after clicking a thumbnail, it directs to a page that reads: File not found Firefox can't find the file at /Users/name/Desktop/SITES/grdn_page/elleJapan.jpg.
I put the jpegs and the html in the same folder?
I'm just wondering why my swf files won't play when I upload them along with my HTML file to the server.

I inserted the swf in 'insert media' - 'shockwave' and the thing works when I press play to view it within dreamweaver. However, when I try to view it on a browser, either locally or remotely, it doesn't work.
I have a template I created in CS4 where an flv video clip was embedded with a controller skin, etc. It worked fine.
I'm working in CS5 now and using f4v files, and publishing for Flash 10 Player. The files are targeted, load and play properly, but if I pause the video, then hit play, audio stops. Starting a new clip at a different point in the timeline works fine. I noticed if I turn off autoplay under Component Parameters, audio doesn't work at all.
Is there a way to add .as files to a subversion repository but to get it to skip over my .fla files?
View 4 RepliesI have got 3 swf files scene1, scene2 and scene3. Out of which scene2 and scene3 are embedded inside html files named scene2.html and scene3.html. I also want to include pre-loader at every intervals between the scenes, since the total file size including images and scripts is around 4mb.

I have created a flash file that allows you to click on a thumbnail image and larger image appears ontop of a tshirt. The same way as a gallery would work. The images and thumbnails are pulled in through xml. However I have a problem, I need the images that appear on the tshirts to be .png files or gif files as the tshirt colour can be changed. At the moment my flash file will only display jpegs! I dont knwo why. The jpegs leave me with a white background, so I need the transparency of a png/gif. My actionscript is:

My users upload a certain kind of text file that sometimeshas references to images stored locally on their hard drive. I needto check this file either on the server or within a flash app tosee if it has these references and then grab those images in aflash app to upload to my server.So I can use FileReference easily enough to have users uploadlocal images. But FileReference requires users to select their files with a dialog box. I can't have that. Myusers wouldn't know where to look and there are typically way toomany files, sometimes with the same name but in differentdirectories.
I can also just use URLLoader with a local URL, I guess I canprobably just use Loader too? That works great. The problem here isI can't communicate with both the server and the local filesystemin the same flash application due to Flash's security sandboxrestrictions. So I can get out of those security restrictions byplacing or editing a trust file in designated locations on variousOSes. I then need to install this trust file which is more invasiveand confusing to users then I want to be...Java's method of accessing local files from a web applet bysimply signing the applet with a certificate and having a dialogbox popup where the users grants access is ideal. View 6 RepliesI was messing around with some old examples, and I ran into an unfinished example where several 30k-100k XML files are loaded and stored as a string into an Array. The code looks basically like:[code]Basically, when I trace the 'this', the order of the files that are loaded is off. Out of about 10 tries, about 3 times the order is perfect. The remaining 7 times, the order is a bit off. Does anybody have a suggestion on how to ensure the files are loaded prior to the next file being loaded? I tried placing a while loop that basically delays the clock for a few milliseconds, and that didn't work either. Besides, that is not really a good solution to arbitrarily waste clock cycles.
View 6 RepliesI'm working on making a pretty chunky game engine for games I plan on making, but I was wondering if you make external AS files unopenable such as .lib files, so that if I give it to a friend that wants to use it, he/she cannot change my code. Is there anyway to make external AS files unopenable? Also, obfuscation isn't an option for this problem as it only stops the people who hack the finished product, not stopping people who have access to the actual files.

As titled, what is the way to record video/audio files using Flash Meida Server through rmtp, and allow users to access the recorded files through http?What I am trying to do, is to record a user's microphone's input and save it to the server.fterwards, I would like other users to be able to access the recorded files and mainuplating the audio data, by computeSpectrum(), to do some visualization of the audio. As I know computeSpectrum() cannot work on streaming files, so I think I need to access the recorded files using http instead of rmtp. Is that true?
