Actionscript 3 :: Adobe Air Native Installer Is Not Including .class Files And .properties Files
Feb 20, 2012
I have some files in my src directory, some are .class files (Java class files) and some are .properties files, when I create the Adobe air native installer these files are not included. Why is that? How can I work around that?
Also it excludes .mxml files, but that's good. I'm sure that's related, how to change what it includes or excludes?
I am trying to create an AIR Installer file through CS3 that has my assets folder included. What I need to happen is, when the AIR Installer runs, it needs to create an assets folder along with everything else, in that folder it needs to have subfolders with a few files in them. At the moment, I can only add single files, not handy when I have images, music and xml I want neatly organised. I want to select whole folders to add, idealy just my assets, at the moment I can only add one at a time.
I have an installer.air that is created by Adobe Flash. I have another file called settings.cfg which is needed for my application to run. How do let the computer auto install settings.cfg into the installation directory together with the application when i run installer.air? Currently, I need to manually place the settings.cfg into the application installed directory.
I am wanting to install flash CS4, but I want to know exactly which files and registry keys it creates and changes. Spybot informs me of all registry changes, but that is it.Is there any antivirus software or something that will tell exactly which files get changed, created, or deleted during a set period of time or by a specific program? Otherwise I could just search for all files that have been created or modified within the last 45 minutes,
I know this is simple - but I want to do a slideshow without XML. I want to include the image files within the .fla but I'm trying to find a way to make it scroll through 3 images included in the file with a fade in/fade out effect. But I don't want to make it so I have to tween the images (alpha) to fade them in and out. & I want it to loop.
I am developing flash app to be embedded in the html page, and i have some text in the swf file with certain font. Now,on platforms that does not have those fonts, it will definitely display different fonts than the one I originally intended.I could use the character embedding feature, but there seems to be only two options. One is include all the glyphs which make the file to be monstrous size or there is an autofill button which will only embedded letters of the font that are in the swf file. Now the problem with the second approach is that, the word will change dynamically making the second option useless. i.e. if word (thus letters) change such that it contains letters whose glyph or whatever is not embedded it is a problem you can see.
Plausible solution for me seems to be include all the letters for desired font, which I could not figure out how to do it or if it is possible to do this at all.Or if it is possible to just copy those fonts into one of my web hosting folders, and dynamically loads them.
I want to create a native installer for windows, mac and linux machines, Instead of .air file I want to create .exe , .dmg and .deb files respectively. So that i can enable the application to be installed natively.
Air allows for seamless installs (aka, "badge installs") from the browser, as well as launching an Air app from the browser. Air 2.0 has the Native Process API, which requires packing the app as an .exe/.dmg rather than a .air file. My question: does the badge install process support seamless installation of native Air installers?
How can i create native installer for windows, MAC and linux, which will check the system if air runtime is not install in the user system then installer will 1st install the AIR runtime and then the AIR application.
Do we need to use any third party software to achicve this?
For checking system wether the AIR runtime is install or not Do we need to write custom script or installer will automatically get things done.
how do you setup a full Flash web site, do all files including linked docs go in one folder?. are you suposed to use the publish pannel? The Flash site i am trying to create is to be used as an intrenet site that resides on the server how do I name links to doc in that folder?
I'm trying to follow this page to launch my AIR native installer application from the browser using "browser invocation"I've loaded the 'badge' sample app into a new "Flex Project (Web)", and made the appropriate changes to the 'AIRBadge.as' file. But I can't seem to use FlashBuilder 4.5 to compile a new 'badge.swf' file which includes my changes.
i am using Flash-builder 4 and developed an application to capture screen image and save on desktop. But when i click the export button , the flex builder shows me the option to export to file only as shown belowI have downloaded latest air sdk and overwrite file in sdk4.0.0 , now air app works but how will it show me the "export to native installer option"??
I have an AIR app that gets bundled with XML files that the app needs. These get put into the APP Storage Directory, of course. Works great. But when I install a new version ( which includes new XML files) , the new files don't get added or overwrite the ones from the previous version. It seems that if that directory is there from a previous install, the installer will ignore the part where it moves included files.
I've got an external .as file in the same folder as my flash file. In the process of writing the code, whenever I make a change and then test the movie, the flash movie is obviously still looking at the OLD information. I tried using the "Delete ASO Files" on the menu, to no avail.I can' find these ASO files anywhere on mycomputer.Aha! I tried something else. I quit flash, restarted and ran the same script with no changes. It returned the data correctly, but then gave me this unpleasant message:256 levels of recursion were exceeded in one action list. This is probably an infinite loop.Further execution of actions has been disabled in this movie. There are no loops of any kind in the code, which is below.
//This is the Person.as file: class Person { public var HomName:String = "unknown"; public var HomEmail:String = "unknown"; public var HomPhone:String = "unknown"; public var HomSaveFreq:Number = 0;
When I try to export my application to native installer with using Export Build Release, it isn't importing my sqlite database files which are in my application directory. Is there a way that I can import those database files ?
Is there any existence of properties file in FLEX4/AS3 ? my requirement is to read data from properties file that flex AIR loading time is minimized and should not occupy more memory. my data set is an array containing around 2000 objects in key:value pair format. How can I treat this large data set that it should not occupy more memory and less initial loading time.
I'm making a software using AIR, and I got the installer installer.exe, but when I'm going to install in the target pcs, It tells me "This application requires a version of adobe air which cannot be found .....", but I need that my installer setup everything that I need to run my app in these pcs that have no Internet connection.
I am writing a basic Air app where one of the features is the ability to stream voicemail off of a local PBX.The voicemails are saved in WAV format and due to outside factors this cannot be changed. According to the Air docs there is no support for the audio tag because the flash player is built in, however, the flash player doesn't support wav files.
Was this just a large oversight on Adobe's part or am I missing something obvious here?
I'm trying to use Adobe's OggVorbis library. But I can't seem to get the Sound object to loop. I even tried looping the _sound object inside the AudioDecoder.as in the "com.automatastudios.audio.audiodecoder" package. Do you really have to reload the file and stream it over and over?
When I open internet explorer I get a window that says adobe flash player installer/uninstaller 10.1 r82 has stopped working. It will not load the homepage or if it does it open it I am unable to navigate away from it. I have tried to deactivate flash but that didn't help either. I have downloaded and installed all windows updates. I have run a virus scan.
I am trying to package air runtime and air application in a native installer. i googled a lot on how to achive the same. i found this link [URL]..which says u need ' AIR bundled runtime installer' to package air runtime with air application.
But havn't found any air bundled runtime installer. from where i can download 'AIR bundled runtime installer' alternative way to package the air runtime with air application except badge from web page.
I am trying to create AIR native installer bundled with AIR runtime for windows, Mac and Linux operating system??
Deleting my preferencesUn-installin and installing a fresh fersion of fashPutting all fonts in the trash except for arialPulling out my hairI'm running OS 10.4.11 intel core duoSeems like new files publish fine but older files crash, also modified older files crash. If I create new files and paste in elements from older files it also crashes
I was wondering if it would be possible to write a file, not to the local system, but to a connected server or other network path. Would i have to use an external php interface for this or can i entrust this to the AIR framework?
I'm looking for a way to collect the file dependencies from Flex ActionScript and MXML files. I was hoping that mxmlc could spit them out (like gcc's -M option), but its option list doesn't seem to have anything relevant. I could write a parser, but would prefer not to reinvent the wheel if it has already been done, particularly given the two very different languages involved. In particular, star imports and in-package implicit imports could be troublesome.
