how do you setup a full Flash web site, do all files including linked docs go in one folder?. are you suposed to use the publish pannel? The Flash site i am trying to create is to be used as an intrenet site that resides on the server how do I name links to doc in that folder?

View 2 RepliesI am evaluating flex for a mobile and a web application and one of things I want to be able to do is show a google docs or a microsoft docs file (doc,ppt) within a flex application. Google docs files are published as web pages so I guess you need a html component with javascript enabled. Does such a component exist in flex 4+? Similarly how would I go about showing a word or a powerpoint file inside a flex app? How does a site like slideshare or scribd do it?

, when i build the project it automatically place all the libs .swf in its "E:in-debug" folder, but when i debug or run the project it it gives loading error that
"E:DataProcessors.swf"
not found but i have those lib files on
"E:in-debugDataProcessors.swf"..
what could be the possible errors.
Is it just me or is there some content missing from AS3 live docs? I am looking for match, replace and search which I thought were available on String, if not in RegExp page. On the RegExp page there are links to Sting.match(), String.replace() and String.search() but none of them seem to go to the right place in the String page.
View 2 RepliesI designed a flash banner with buttons. I am trying to get those buttons linked to other pages in my website. I have tried several methods but none appear to work. The first thing I tried to was to assign the buttons to my other webpages through using the behaviours under the windows tab in Flash CS4. It worked when using the publish preview option (preview in flash) and choosing Flash, but when I went to add the banner to my webpage through Dreamweaver, the buttons would not work. I tried another method and used actionscript 3.0. I kept getting errors.

currently using flex builder 3. I am having trouble setting up linked folders between 2 of my projects.Basically I have a project for a Map Editor, and a project for the Tile Game. I want to share the map folder between the two projects but I keep getting package errors and I don't know how I should nest the folders/projects or where to put the maps or how to import classes from these linked folders.The project folders are currently arranged like this....Flex/Game...Flex/MapEditora maps folder needs to be shared between the two projects
View 1 RepliesI have some files in my src directory, some are .class files (Java class files) and some are .properties files, when I create the Adobe air native installer these files are not included. Why is that? How can I work around that?
Also it excludes .mxml files, but that's good. I'm sure that's related, how to change what it includes or excludes?
I've got external folder with resources (graphics, movies, etc) which is shared between a couple of projects. I'm able to link this resource folder in FlashBuilder (as described in [URL]). After that all the paths to embeds are relative to the project, and that's the behaviour I want.
This linked resource appears in .project file as follows:

Note, that it isn't source folder and it is not included in compilerSourcePath tag. The question is how can I specify resource linked folder in mxmlc command line arguments? -source-path is not working here, relative pathes to embeds can not be resolved.
i have a movie that has a swf player practically on every page playing a number of different videos.When I export it usually and play it on another computer the flash file won't play the videos as they simply are not there
View 2 RepliesHowever one problem I have encountered is the only way I can make the buttons appear after the video is finished, is by dragging out the single frame of video on the timeline to whatever length in seconds it is multiplied by the number of frames per second.
Is there some way to maintain each linked clip in a single frame and only move to the next frame (which contains the relative buttons) after the video is finished?
I am creating a Flex 4 project and would like to do an actionscript based login with encryption, but I obviously don't want it to be easily decompiled.If I dynamically link to a swf file that is in a "non-browse" directory, would a decompiler of the base application actionscript file also give the code of the linked file? I know this is simple - but I want to do a slideshow without XML. I want to include the image files within the .fla but I'm trying to find a way to make it scroll through 3 images included in the file with a fade in/fade out effect. But I don't want to make it so I have to tween the images (alpha) to fade them in and out. & I want it to loop.
View 3 RepliesI am developing flash app to be embedded in the html page, and i have some text in the swf file with certain font.Now,on platforms that does not have those fonts, it will definitely display different fonts than the one I originally intended.I could use the character embedding feature, but there seems to be only two options.One is include all the glyphs which make the file to be monstrous size or
there is an autofill button which will only embedded letters of the font that are in the swf file.Now the problem with the second approach is that,the word will change dynamically making the second option useless. i.e. if word (thus letters) change such that it contains letters whose glyph or whatever is not embedded it is a problem you can see.
Plausible solution for me seems to be include all the letters for desired font, which I could not figure out how to do it or if it is possible to do this at all.Or if it is possible to just copy those fonts into one of my web hosting folders, and dynamically loads them.

View 3 RepliesAs far as I can tell the AS 3 is to the T. But when I test it in dreamweaver some of the pdf's and all of the websites will not open. It says to make sure the path or file name is correct... but the names are perfectly fine.it may be a security sandbox issue, but I don't know how to check that let alone fix it.Here are some of the code samples.

I want to embed all xml files of a given folder. For now I'm doing something like this:

The files should be embedded on compilation, to load them via URLLoader is not an option.
I am trying to create an AIR Installer file through CS3 that has my assets folder included. What I need to happen is, when the AIR Installer runs, it needs to create an assets folder along with everything else, in that folder it needs to have subfolders with a few files in them. At the moment, I can only add single files, not handy when I have images, music and xml I want neatly organised. I want to select whole folders to add, idealy just my assets, at the moment I can only add one at a time.

View 2 RepliesI have tried putting fs command for full screen for my Flash site, but that only works if I open the SWF on its own.
If I try opening the Flash website thru my browser, a warning pops up that Flash is trying to comunicate with the browser.
I would like it when a person goes to the website, that the website will automatially open up as a full screen website. No tool bars, address, navigation etc., like a DVD movie. Just the whole screen covered by my Flash site and it does not rescale. The Flash site is the same size as if there is no full screen.
i have a site entirely built on flash. its basically an e-magazine with lots of textual data. i need to implement a full text search where the user enters search terms in a text field and i need to highlight the occurrence of this search term within the textual contents inside this e-magazine
in a way its similar to what you do within a browser search or pdf search where after typing your search term they highlight all occurrences of this search term within the webpage / pdf document

View 2 RepliesIt is easy to be confused I'd bet but I will try to spell it out very simple I have this micro site that has 4 flv videos linked from where I uploaded them. The videos seem to work fine, if I type in the directory to the site itself.. (mysite.com/myswf.swf)
But when i utilize a preloader file, that loads the site, the videos do not load. I figure it is some linking break in using a preloader swf. Because the preloader has a different name, then the site's swf, how should I write out the directory to the flv files in the site flash file so it can load when using a preloader
I have a flash player which play mp3 files from xml. at now mp3 files are downloadable with software like internet download manager. if i move mp3 files to out of www and change xml location attribute to '../mp3filename.mp3' player can not play mp3. my question are
1) flash file can access files out of root folder
2) what is best way to protect files from download?
