Is it just me or is there some content missing from AS3 live docs? I am looking for match, replace and search which I thought were available on String, if not in RegExp page. On the RegExp page there are links to Sting.match(), String.replace() and String.search() but none of them seem to go to the right place in the String page.

View 1 RepliesI am currently working on a site that has to have the ability for users to view documents that are uploaded, however they need to be viewable in browser.I know there is the Google docs viewer (however this does not seem to work when trying toopen it in a fancybox overlay), but are they any other alternatives, maybe some API's that could turn them into Flash or similar, and then I could simply embed it as a swf?

I know more java than I do as3 and as I trying to learn the new language (read becoming slowly insane) I find my self reaching for a resource like the java docs for the java api. are there any resources like the out there? do we have access to the source code? what are some other good resources? I want to know what methods SimpleButton has. I am trying to find out is there is something like getWith() or something.

I am evaluating flex for a mobile and a web application and one of things I want to be able to do is show a google docs or a microsoft docs file (doc,ppt) within a flex application. Google docs files are published as web pages so I guess you need a html component with javascript enabled. Does such a component exist in flex 4+? Similarly how would I go about showing a word or a powerpoint file inside a flex app? How does a site like slideshare or scribd do it?

I'm not sure why but the Fonts.as seems to crash the program... I decompiled it and found nothing really important inside the file... so I was wondering if it's possible to skip-loading the Fonts.as file... I can't delete this file/edit it due to it being a live .swf and not mine...
EDIT: I just re-looked at the coding and noticed it has similar coding to mine... could my code and this code be interacting be why it doesn't run?

View 3 RepliesI published an app to Air 2.5 (.air) from Adobe Flash CS 5 and afterwards also to Air Android (.apk) Since then I receive this error message if I try to publish as .air again:
Error creating files. Icon file is missing.
I tried to delete and recreate the folder and pathes but the error still appears.
In Adobe Flash CS3 Profesional and when I start the Flash Video Encoder I get the following message: "A required system library did not initialize properly. Please ensure you have DirectShow 9 and QuickTime 7 or higher installed on your system."

I have tried to publish a single stream, and with multiple bitrates. For the latter, I followed the Adobe video tutorial as follows:

Is it possible to capture/encode a video file on a slow machine, then upload it live to a Red5 or Adobe Streaming server, and have that server stream to file live to flash clients? If so, what protocol is used to stream the data from the encoding machine to the Red5 / Adobe server? I see a lot of things about RTMP, but am I correct that this protocol is used between Streaming Server and Flash client, but not from encoding machine to Streaming Server?
View 1 RepliesI installed SWF Tools 6.x-2.5 in Drupal Drupal 6.20. I followed the installation instruction and also setup SWFObject 2 - JavaScript. The status page does not show any error.
The problem that I have is that when I indicate the content with [swf file="MyflashTest.swf"] I always get the message:
You are missing some Flash content
that should appear here! Perhaps your
browser cannot display it, or maybe it
did not initialize correctly
I using apache webserver in my localghost. I tried to open the page with IE and Firefox but I always get the same message
Any idea what do I need to check/set to make flash content appear?

is it possible to receive live stream at bitrate lower than that which video is being recorded with? How to accomplish that? I know that play2 from NetStream class allows to switch between recorded videos at different bitrates, but what about live content? I cannot simply set bandwidth to lower using FMS because i need to be sure that framerate won't be affected, and there are also other simultaneous streams playing .

I dont mean putting it on one frame so it will play, but so i can edit objects over the top of the flash in each single frame.

Ideally I would like to limit the IPs which are allowed to publish streams to the server.
I read about the Adobe Authentication Plugin, but apparently it is broken since it works only for Adobe Flash Media Live Enconder. It doesn't secure the server for other encoders that publish streams.

In full screen, right clicks would have custom behavior attached.I saw one in Visual c++. As per Chris's I checked the link. I tried adding these lines of code:
