ActionScript 3.0 :: Preloaded Website Wont Play Linked Flv Video?
Sep 28, 2011
It is easy to be confused I'd bet but I will try to spell it out very simple I have this micro site that has 4 flv videos linked from where I uploaded them. The videos seem to work fine, if I type in the directory to the site itself.. (mysite.com/myswf.swf)
But when i utilize a preloader file, that loads the site, the videos do not load. I figure it is some linking break in using a preloader swf. Because the preloader has a different name, then the site's swf, how should I write out the directory to the flv files in the site flash file so it can load when using a preloader
I've been using the "Reusable Preloader Using MovieClipLoader" from the tutorial section of this site.The only difference is that i don't use'm for preloading jpg. I load external swf files containing video. Everything works fine so far. The only problem is that the preloaded video already starts playing while preloading (at about 30%), but without showing the video.This is the code i have so far:
I created a website in Flash that is suppose to play a video with sound when the site opens. My logo then fades in over the video as it plays. I added the logo on it own timeline. On the web, my logo plays with the fade in effect correctly but the video is missing. The site works fine when I preview it but not on the web.
I'm trying to get a video to play in my flash movie on my website everything plays o.k except the video dose anyone know what I may need to do to get the video to play? P/S The video plays in the test browsers but not after I upload it and all of the files are uploaded.
I am a complete novice when it comes to flash and web design in general. I have purchased a flash template [URL] which I have been able to customise to my liking for a small production company. I am now completely stuck when it comes to integrating videos within the site.
I understand that I need to have an Xml playlist and some action script that references the videos to the player, but I have no clue on what to do.
I am looking to have a video begin as soon as the site loads and then have the buttons on the orange bar allow the user to navigate between other flv files. I would possibly be interested in including firther links on the video samples page.
I wish to play a video content (in a container) from my website/ blog, when the page is loaded . Similar to that of youtube, dailymotion etc. I wish to give the actual Url to that container, which then plays the video in that location.The basic idea is to hide the actual URL from the user and make the person to view the video from the current page.

Can't figure it out. I've got a video file to stream from my published Flash file. Works great at home.All the files are in a single folder. I transfer the folder to a jump drive to bring it to school and when I load it up on the website I get this green/black filer on the play skin andthe video won't play. I double check to see if I can play it on my school machinestraight off the jump drive and it doesn't work either (it did on my home machine).
In my flash site there is a video player that I want to have an option of switching into full-screen mode. It's the video player that needs to be set to full screen, not the whole stage. How would I go about this?
I'm trying to create an flv player to play a single video from a website. I can't seem to resize the playback window. Altering the width just seems to move the same small window around the screen.
Ideally I'd like it to go full-screen or at least fill the browser window. However, I don't even seem to have basic control at the moment. What am I doing wrong here?
Also, (and maybe this is related), I couldn't import fl.video.* in Flex Builder without placing the component first in my library resource using Flash. Is it possible to bypass this step and import directly in Flex Builder?
if I repeat this IIS topic, I couldn't find the answer to my problem any where on the internet. I installed FMS Dev 3.5 on Win 2003 Server with IIS 6.0 enabled. I don't have any issue with port 80 Listening, I used the IP address 192.168.0.21 for my web application (IIS) and 192.168.0.22 for FMS (I only have one network card and port 1935 is open under firewall). I can play the sample videos (RTMP, HTTP, and Dynamic Stream) using the Flash Media Start Screen (or from the location C: Program FilesAdobe Flash Media Server 3.5webrootindex.html) without any problem.
I then modified the IIS Default Website to look at the "webroot" folder (C: Program FilesAdobe Flash Media Server 3.5webroot). From IE, I can access the default web site by enter http://192.168.0.21/index.html. The website loads up correctly, and the RTMP video is playing perfectly. However, if I click Play Video (HTTP) or Dynamic Stream (tab), I receive "Connection Error. Please press Play to try again." I look at the log file (access.01.log) and see the error log "Session disconnect
I designed a flash banner with buttons. I am trying to get those buttons linked to other pages in my website. I have tried several methods but none appear to work. The first thing I tried to was to assign the buttons to my other webpages through using the behaviours under the windows tab in Flash CS4. It worked when using the publish preview option (preview in flash) and choosing Flash, but when I went to add the banner to my webpage through Dreamweaver, the buttons would not work. I tried another method and used actionscript 3.0. I kept getting errors.
As far as I can tell the AS 3 is to the T. But when I test it in dreamweaver some of the pdf's and all of the websites will not open. It says to make sure the path or file name is correct... but the names are perfectly fine.it may be a security sandbox issue, but I don't know how to check that let alone fix it.Here are some of the code samples.
menventures.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, menventuresurl) function menventuresurl (event:Event):void {var menventures:URLRequest = new URLRequest("http://www.menventures.com/");navigateToURL(menventures, "_self");trace("The menventures button was clicked");}[code].....
how do you setup a full Flash web site, do all files including linked docs go in one folder?. are you suposed to use the publish pannel? The Flash site i am trying to create is to be used as an intrenet site that resides on the server how do I name links to doc in that folder?
I have a .flv flash video using the 'steelexternalall' component that works fine when I preview it from it's .fla file to it's .swf.
The problem is when I link to it from my main movie (clicking on a btn to open it in a blank movie clip' it will not open!!! I can't get my head round this & am losing my marbles! I have all the files (including the 'steel' component) saved into the same folder.
I created a flash video using flash CS3, and I pulished the html. The flash worked fine on my computer. When I uploaded the file to my videos folder on my server the video worked. But when I had the link to play the file on another directory it failed to show the video or play.[code]...
I've got an FLV video linked to an external SWF (a substage) that is itself linked to another SWF (the main stage) The FLV plays fine if I publish and run the substage independently but when the substage is loaded into the main stage at runtime I lose the video, all the other screen elements from the substage work fine. I thought it might be a path issue so I hardcoded a fully qualified URL as the video source with the same results; works independently, fails when loaded into the main stage at run time.
I can see and hear normally on youtube or some direct site. But if I try to veiw a youtube vid linked at some forum I can only hear the video and am unable to see it. I just upgraded to Windows 7 64 bit. The same thing happened on my laptop when I upgraded to Windows 7.
Using flash 8 pro, I've imported a video clip and embedded cue points at the first and last frames - these are named 'intro' and 'outro'. I have the flv paused at the first and last frames via the component inspector, and it is a 'talking head' type affair - all good so far.
At the very end of the video clip I want the 'outro' cue point to dynamically load a movie clip from the library with the linkage name 'p-overlay_mc' which will, in effect, blend a logo over the video when it ends. Can this be done?
I guess this sort of cue point triggered event is the equivalent of an 'enterFrame' event. My guess is that i will need a script from the root timeline targetting the cue point within the .flv, but i really don't know the script needed.
However one problem I have encountered is the only way I can make the buttons appear after the video is finished, is by dragging out the single frame of video on the timeline to whatever length in seconds it is multiplied by the number of frames per second.
Is there some way to maintain each linked clip in a single frame and only move to the next frame (which contains the relative buttons) after the video is finished?
How can find out the linked url of the image in the flash of a website? I looked for the image url some time. but couldn't find itif find the linked url of the image, and i want to alter an image linked url address. where is the code in?
On the mxmlc command line, I can include paths to RSL files. I can choose to link these RSLs at runtime by setting
-static-link-runtime-shared-libraries=false What if I need to link to some rsls and embed (static-link) other rsls? Is there a way to set the link settings for each rsl?
everyone out there that is smarter than me. I have made this little prototype video player, and it isn't working. It'll eventually become a nice little player show videos from our summer camp for the last few years, but first I want to make it work in a basic stripped down version. There is a playback component with one of the skins right above the three buttons.
Here's the ActionScript: btn1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, vid1);btn2.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, vid2);btn3.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, vid3);
function vid1(e:Event):void{vidPlayer.source = "Video1.flv"};function vid2(e:Event):void{vidPlayer.source = "Video2.flv"}; function vid3(e:Event):void{vidPlayer.source = "Video3.flv"};
It runs fine when I test in in flash and even the .swf file runs fine alone, but when I put it in a .html file via Dreamweaver and in the published .html it doesn't run. What up?
i am just curious if this kind of technology for flash is available.Can a website flash player able to cut specific part of the video and save it as a new video through php and flash.
The stop button plays as expected. The play/pause button plays as expected. The issue is when you press pause which will cause the play button to appear, then press stop. the video automatically plays and it shouldn't. I have bolded the control button script for convenience.
Why does my swf's skin referenced by a simple component FLA work locally but NOT live? There's no AS3 in the component FLA. It's just a one-layer component referenced to the the FLV. When I test locally, IN FLASH CS4 ONLY, and click on "Animalia - Verse From the Zoo" the FLV and skin load and the video (source FLV - "Sequence01.flv") plays. But the same thing live only loads the swf for the FLV file area but NO SKIN. Try it yourself, please:Has anyone had this problem and knows the solution? All files are in the SAME FOLDER on the web server. I've tried every URL and path combination I can think of on the website. I've tried referencing the whole URL.
Yet whatever path combination I try, either nothing happens, or I just get the FLV box but no skin. Which is what's happening now. Publish settings are set to Flash Player 10 for all files. And I've tried the component SWF WITH and WITHOUT the fl.video package (import fl.video.*. No difference. Why does the skin load and play locally but not live? It's all AS3. No AS2. And it does not seem to be a "publish settings" issue as far as I can see. The relevant code in my API is:
var AnimalFLVLoader:Loader = new Loader(); AnimalFLVLoader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN,fAnimaliaVOn); Animalia2.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, fAnimaliaVOn);
