C# :: Plugin To Play Video Content From Blog / Website
Feb 17, 2010
I wish to play a video content (in a container) from my website/ blog, when the page is loaded . Similar to that of youtube, dailymotion etc. I wish to give the actual Url to that container, which then plays the video in that location. The basic idea is to hide the actual URL from the user and make the person to view the video from the current page.
I have a single page web app that shows real time data using just HTML/CSS/JS - I have managed to keep Flash out of it.
Now I want to play a small chime but I don't want to make the site dependent on Flash. It is just a chime to indicate a new chat, so it is not a huge stumbling block but I would like to find a way.
Is this possible - I am guessing no since you need something local to play the sound
For my wishlist site, I would like to propose widgets to my users in order to publish their wishlist on their blog or personal website. The idea is to propose a few lines of code to my users that they only need to copy/paste to insert the widget displaying their wishlist. What is the best way to create/develop a widget ?
I created a website in Flash that is suppose to play a video with sound when the site opens. My logo then fades in over the video as it plays. I added the logo on it own timeline. On the web, my logo plays with the fade in effect correctly but the video is missing. The site works fine when I preview it but not on the web.
I'm trying to get a video to play in my flash movie on my website everything plays o.k except the video dose anyone know what I may need to do to get the video to play? P/S The video plays in the test browsers but not after I upload it and all of the files are uploaded.
I am a complete novice when it comes to flash and web design in general. I have purchased a flash template [URL] which I have been able to customise to my liking for a small production company. I am now completely stuck when it comes to integrating videos within the site.
I understand that I need to have an Xml playlist and some action script that references the videos to the player, but I have no clue on what to do.
I am looking to have a video begin as soon as the site loads and then have the buttons on the orange bar allow the user to navigate between other flv files. I would possibly be interested in including firther links on the video samples page.

Can't figure it out. I've got a video file to stream from my published Flash file. Works great at home. All the files are in a single folder. I transfer the folder to a jump drive to bring it to school and when I load it up on the website I get this green/black filer on the play skin andthe video won't play. I double check to see if I can play it on my school machinestraight off the jump drive and it doesn't work either (it did on my home machine).
In my flash site there is a video player that I want to have an option of switching into full-screen mode. It's the video player that needs to be set to full screen, not the whole stage. How would I go about this?
It is easy to be confused I'd bet but I will try to spell it out very simple I have this micro site that has 4 flv videos linked from where I uploaded them. The videos seem to work fine, if I type in the directory to the site itself.. (mysite.com/myswf.swf)
But when i utilize a preloader file, that loads the site, the videos do not load. I figure it is some linking break in using a preloader swf. Because the preloader has a different name, then the site's swf, how should I write out the directory to the flv files in the site flash file so it can load when using a preloader
I'm trying to create an flv player to play a single video from a website. I can't seem to resize the playback window. Altering the width just seems to move the same small window around the screen.
Ideally I'd like it to go full-screen or at least fill the browser window. However, I don't even seem to have basic control at the moment. What am I doing wrong here?
Also, (and maybe this is related), I couldn't import fl.video.* in Flex Builder without placing the component first in my library resource using Flash. Is it possible to bypass this step and import directly in Flex Builder?
I am trying to make a blog roll program that will put the titles of a client's blog on their homepage. i ran through a tutorial that got most of it working, but when i went to move from the tutorial to the client's program, i started running into some errors. since i have no idea what they mean, i can't even begin to figure out what is causing them.
if I repeat this IIS topic, I couldn't find the answer to my problem any where on the internet. I installed FMS Dev 3.5 on Win 2003 Server with IIS 6.0 enabled. I don't have any issue with port 80 Listening, I used the IP address 192.168.0.21 for my web application (IIS) and 192.168.0.22 for FMS (I only have one network card and port 1935 is open under firewall). I can play the sample videos (RTMP, HTTP, and Dynamic Stream) using the Flash Media Start Screen (or from the location C: Program FilesAdobe Flash Media Server 3.5webrootindex.html) without any problem.
I then modified the IIS Default Website to look at the "webroot" folder (C: Program FilesAdobe Flash Media Server 3.5webroot). From IE, I can access the default web site by enter http://192.168.0.21/index.html. The website loads up correctly, and the RTMP video is playing perfectly. However, if I click Play Video (HTTP) or Dynamic Stream (tab), I receive "Connection Error. Please press Play to try again." I look at the log file (access.01.log) and see the error log "Session disconnect
I want to create something similar to "Karrine Cast" on http://www.karrine.com/home/ - something where I can record myself on web cam every week and then upload it and display it in flash. Without having to open up flash and render it into FLV, then import it, do coding etc change my move etc. Something simple, quick and easy to be able to display videos. Is there a tutorial or some sort of premade code that would allow me to do this?
i`m wondering if there is a website to test flash plugin detections? in the html i'm using swfobject.js and so.addParam("xiRedirectUrl ", "flash-required.html");
I would like to make a site that is easy to update video and text. Is there a way to insert a blog into a fully flash site? I don't know if there is a blog that's made in flash or something like that. I'd like the video and text to be easier to update than xml. HTML blogs are really convenient, but I'd like some flash to make it more dynamic and more of a full website, than just a blog.
I create a video in Flash using import->video. I select my .flv file and a skin. The .flv is on my hard drive. The component parameters reflects this location.I want to upload the video to my web server to display on my MovableType blog.
If I change the properties in Flash to reflect the server location Flash says "could not upload video." So I kept the component property to reflect the location on my C drive.I import that Flash media into dreamweaver to get the HTML code for my site.It works fine when I preview in Dreamweaver.I thought I could then change the code to reflect the new location of the file.I have done this using an online embedding program, but then I have no skin or ability for user to control playback. So I can get the video to the web with an online embedder, but the code generated by Dreamweaver does not work. The frame for the video appears, but there is no content.
I have a flash header that I show on one of my customers sites, but instead of creating an entire new website for non-flash, is there a way I can have it render a static image version of the header instead of either redirecting or just not rendering the flash content at all (ie with a FAIL message)?
I created a flash video using flash CS3, and I pulished the html. The flash worked fine on my computer. When I uploaded the file to my videos folder on my server the video worked. But when I had the link to play the file on another directory it failed to show the video or play.[code]...
I want to capture live webcam in the form of video, i am not getin the proper example in the official page documentation of the webcam plugin. How to do so???
Im the new kid on the block so I apologyze if I'm not doing very well.Everything works fine till the moment in which I set the wmode param of the flash movie to transparent, then the movie completely disappears (it loads, as I can listen at the sounds) but it doesn't show.I would like to have a full background image with the transparent flash movie over it, that's all, if somebody can tell me how to fix this or even a new way to do it, it will be so good!!Here is my code, so simple, by the way:
It's with a Flash overlay that has been custom made to overlap a .flv video running in Flowplayer (open source video player at flowplayer.org) The Flash overlay is mostly transparent and just includes a few buttons over top the video to allow visitors to share, email and visit a related website. Take a look here for example:[URL]
The video and Flash buttons work fine when videos are played within Flowplayer at normal size in the browser, but when making it fullscreen using Flowplayer, the Flash overlay plugin does not resize to fullscreen with it. Then, when made regular size again it gets distorted, as you can see from the example.
I know it might involve creating a custom onResize() function, but I haven't figured this out yet with Flowplayer. There are vague instructions & snippets of code here under "Layout management" section on flowplayer . org/documentation/developer/writing-flash-plugins.html
Code: override public function onResize():void { /* set _childButton width according to my new width,
[Code]....
Interesting, but doesn't tell me much of what to do. I have a feeling it might involve making a new .as class in Flash and associating it to the custom buttons overlay .swf. On the right track?
get the overlay to resize using onResize and what code should be used would be very helpful. Others may be also trying to make custom overlay plugins too, and the fullscreen issue would be the next step to know after that and make it look more complete.
an answer here opening swf files using WebKit framework says the following about running SWF movies inside WebView inside Cocoa application: "because the Flash plug-in is not garbage-collection supported, the plug-in won't work if your application uses garbage collection".
Meanwhile, an answer here Flash AS3 animation in Mac vs Windows discusses Flash garbage collection on Mac (likely in Safari) and says that it sucks but it does exist.
So is the first claim about no garbage collection in WebView false or is the WebView plugin distinct from Safari plugin?
i am just curious if this kind of technology for flash is available. Can a website flash player able to cut specific part of the video and save it as a new video through php and flash.
I have recently had a new computer, and I run my own website containing various Flash animations. I have had to reinstall all my software packages onto my new machine incl. Dreamweaver and my FTP program. I've just uploaded my website, but none of the Flash content is able to be viewed online. It works perfectly when viewed via Dreamweaver, but is just not visible on the Net, as if something is blocking it. All other Flash websites, apart from mine are working fine.
Currently, the facebook plugin is displayed briefly before the flash starts loading then it disappears after the page is loaded. What do I need to do for the plugin to display on the webpage in order to look like it is part of the flash site?[url]...
The green background of the facebook plugin and position is just temp for testing purposes until I can get this page to display properly.
just wanted to get some second opinions on something before I dive into a project.I would like to use the same effect executed in this website: http:[url]....how to go about doing that. I have a few ideas but am quite intermediate when it comes to code, so I was trying to search for some help topics and tutorials that might spark something. But I can't figure out what this sort of method is called! Where all the content slides like that as you click on different parts of the navigation.
* I should add that I am more proficient in AS2 but wouldn't mind learning how to do this in AS3.
