Jan 11, 2011I created a website in Flash that is suppose to play a video with sound when the site opens. My logo then fades in over the video as it plays. I added the logo on it own timeline. On the web, my logo plays with the fade in effect correctly but the video is missing. The site works fine when I preview it but not on the web.

I understand that I need to have an Xml playlist and some action script that references the videos to the player, but I have no clue on what to do.
I am looking to have a video begin as soon as the site loads and then have the buttons on the orange bar allow the user to navigate between other flv files. I would possibly be interested in including firther links on the video samples page.

Oct 26, 2009Can't figure it out. I've got a video file to stream from my published Flash file. Works great at home.All the files are in a single folder. I transfer the folder to a jump drive to bring it to school and when I load it up on the website I get this green/black filer on the play skin andthe video won't play. I double check to see if I can play it on my school machinestraight off the jump drive and it doesn't work either (it did on my home machine).

Sep 28, 2011It is easy to be confused I'd bet but I will try to spell it out very simple I have this micro site that has 4 flv videos linked from where I uploaded them. The videos seem to work fine, if I type in the directory to the site itself.. (mysite.com/myswf.swf)
But when i utilize a preloader file, that loads the site, the videos do not load. I figure it is some linking break in using a preloader swf. Because the preloader has a different name, then the site's swf, how should I write out the directory to the flv files in the site flash file so it can load when using a preloader

Mar 4, 2009I'm trying to create an flv player to play a single video from a website. I can't seem to resize the playback window. Altering the width just seems to move the same small window around the screen.
Ideally I'd like it to go full-screen or at least fill the browser window. However, I don't even seem to have basic control at the moment. What am I doing wrong here?
Also, (and maybe this is related), I couldn't import fl.video.* in Flex Builder without placing the component first in my library resource using Flash. Is it possible to bypass this step and import directly in Flex Builder?

Media Server :: Cannot Play HTTP Sample Video And Dynamic Stream On IIS Default Website
Aug 4, 2009if I repeat this IIS topic, I couldn't find the answer to my problem any where on the internet. I installed FMS Dev 3.5 on Win 2003 Server with IIS 6.0 enabled. I don't have any issue with port 80 Listening, I used the IP address 192.168.0.21 for my web application (IIS) and 192.168.0.22 for FMS (I only have one network card and port 1935 is open under firewall). I can play the sample videos (RTMP, HTTP, and Dynamic Stream) using the Flash Media Start Screen (or from the location C: Program FilesAdobe Flash Media Server 3.5webrootindex.html) without any problem.
I then modified the IIS Default Website to look at the "webroot" folder (C: Program FilesAdobe Flash Media Server 3.5webroot). From IE, I can access the default web site by enter http://192.168.0.21/index.html. The website loads up correctly, and the RTMP video is playing perfectly. However, if I click Play Video (HTTP) or Dynamic Stream (tab), I receive "Connection Error. Please press Play to try again." I look at the log file (access.01.log) and see the error log "Session disconnect

May 2, 2005I've been using the "Reusable Preloader Using MovieClipLoader" from the tutorial section of this site.The only difference is that i don't use'm for preloading jpg. I load external swf files containing video. Everything works fine so far. The only problem is that the preloaded video already starts playing while preloading (at about 30%), but without showing the video.This is the code i have so far:

Sep 3, 2009I'm tweaking the video code found here [URL] His progress bar starts at the edge of the stage. My progress bar starts at x=40 into the stage. My problem is that even though all my mcs related to the progress bar are positioned properly the scrubber mc hops to the edge of the screen when the video starts. It also acts as if the progress bar you scrub though is at the edge of the screen too. I can't figure out why it's doing this. There's nothing in the code to tell it to do as such.

Media Server :: Add An Intro Video Before Main Video Starts
Aug 4, 2010I have a 10 second Intro video that I would like to play before each main video plays. The videos are streaming through FMS 3.5. At the moment I have to attach the intro to the start of the main videos and render out in Premiere Pro CS5 Ideally I would like to set it up so that the intro starts for the 10 seconds and then auto switches to the manin video. To show an example of what I need to do here is a link to an Archery site ( I also do archery as a hobby and noticed this)[URL] If you click on any of the 8 parts for either day 1 or Day two, you will notice a couple the 5 second intro screens and it then automatically goes back to 0 to start the main video.

Jun 12, 2011I'm comfortable with PHP and Javascript but this is the first time I'm using flash. I have Flash CS5.
I've managed to import a movie file, however, as soon as it's downloaded it starts playing. I've tried using the Action stop(); coding, which works file in the export preview in CS5, but on a website it runs straight away.
I know I can't use the command because that stops the timeline but by then the video is already playing. My solution would be to use and have the video in frame 2, then get javascript to jump to frame 2 when I was ready. However, I can't find a way to import a video file to a frame in CS5. Is there a better way?
