CS4 :: Crashes After Update On Win XP
Aug 5, 2009I just updated CS4 with the latest patches and it started to crash when I try to publish one of my flashfiles.
The file uses actionscript 2 and worked just fine before the upgrade.

I am deploying Updates via SCUP and SCCM to hundreds of Computers. Fortunately Adobe provides an SCCM Update Catalog for both Adobe Flash ActiveX and Adobe Flash Plugin. But now my Problem: After publishing the Update via SCCM, the client is not supposed to be interfered with the Update Progress (which is working) I figured the Updater works like this: First SCCM checks if a Update needs to be deployed, if this is the case, The Flash Updater begins. First the old Flash Version is beeing uninstalled. But now: if the Client has a Browser Window (IE, or Firefox) open, the Updater is not able to install the new Flash Version and quits with an Error. This leaves the Client PC without any Flash (because its being uninstalled before) How can I prevent Flash being uninstalled due to the Update progress not working while a Browser window is open?
View 1 RepliesI've got a movieclip, which has got a dynamic text element. The movieclip uses a package for its codeThe package if obviously derived from the MovieClip classI've got a timer, that updates the dynamic text field every second. When debugging the code, I see that the timer works well. Its updates the value of the dynamic text field.
View 2 RepliesFlash CS5.5 crashes when testing this movie using CTRL-ENTER a few times. Sometimes, a message warning that the Java Virtual Machine is running out of memory appears. I would like to know whether it is the FLA or my Flash installation that is corrupt.
see the following FLA file. [URL]
My flash cs3 is crashing every time I try to publish a file, why? I run vista business 32 bit I didn't have problems until today, using flash cs3 for the[code]...
View 9 RepliesWhen trying to view the settings or start que on any .wmv (windows Media Video) file I drag into the flash video encoder, the program immediately crashes. I've tried many different WMV files from different sources, all the same outcome.
View 1 RepliesWe created a flash site, which crashes on IE. It works fine on Firefox. The problem seems to happen when the swf tries to load some MP3 files, with 'Sound.loadSound' method.
View 7 RepliesI have recently purchased CS4 Design Premium. The installation of all applications went fine (no error message) and all applications work perfect except Flash CS4. On startup I see shortly the stage screen and then the spinning beach ball. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Flash only with no luck. I then uninstalled and reinstalled the complete Suite and still no luck. I work on a MacPro with 10.5.7. All other system requirements are fullfilled
View 3 RepliesI've been using Flash CS4 on my MAC running 10.5 for over 6 months with no issues. But now when I open a fla file it opens but when I click anywhere it will crash within seconds. I've restarted my computer and checked that my Flash App is up to date.
View 1 RepliesWhen I open the Flash CS4 application, it starts up fine. If I select create new flash file, the entire application crashes. That's as far as I can get. I've made all of the recent updates that I can - it's flash version 10.0.2 ... I'm running OSX v10.4.11
I've tried restarting, that doesn't do anything. I've also tried starting up Flash with nothing else open. Haven't re-installed the entire thing yet (probably what I'll do next).
just recently upgraded to Leopard. Flash now crashes when opening certain fla's (that worked fine before). The files sometimes open, but then crash the app when I select something on the stage. In these cases I can actually edit the actionscripts.I'm not sure if the crashes are related to Leopard; don't remember if I tried opening one of the problem files since upgrading.I'm on a MacBook Pro 17 2.33, 2gb ram.I repaired permissions (several times), ran various Onyx processes, zapped pram, removed all the prefs files I could find, and reinstalled the whole suite (CS3 Master suite). Bridge won't even open; it crashes on opening.
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to sort some arrays with the sortOn() function in Flash CS3.. but it always seems to crash itself upon exporting!Do you guys get this too? And is there a way to get around this?

I've got a 9MB fla file that suddenly doesn't open any more. When I try to open it, it crashes Flash. When I try to open it as a library, it crashes Flash. Someone told me a library object might be corrupted - not good, irreparable. I'm on a Mac and when I try opening the fla file it gives me an "error type 2 occurred." I imported the swf file into a new Flash file, but now it's just a one-layer straight-streaming movie with every frame a completely new, redrawn keyframe. Is there any way to resurrect the original fla file? I've got a Sunday deadline?
View 1 RepliesI am having a problem with Flash at work. Any time I try and publish a file, whether its a .swf, .exe, or whatever, Flash crashes and closes. I am running Windows Vista x32, and Flash CS3. Any file, as long as it is saved and publishing a copy of the file with the same name, does this. The only way I can get around it is publishing from an Untitled document that hasn't been saved yet....even then all I get is a preview, not an actual published file.
The files I am working with publish fine on other machines. I have contacted Adobe and all I got was "reinstall," and "run a clean install." I reinstalled 3 times, and have run CS3clean twice along with more reinstalls (once each using each separate level of cleaning.) None of it worked; I still get the same issue. Also, I cannot open the ActionScript tab without flash crashing; the only workaround is to open an untitled document, open the AS tab THERE, and THEN open an already existing document. From there though I can't check my syntax or auto-format.
I am just starting to learn how to use flash. I have made four diffrent fla files, but one of them is not working. Flash crashes when i try to open it, it worked last night. Is there any way to repair it or find out what i have done wrong. Dont want it to hapen again. There is no problem to run the swf file. I have uppdated flash to the latest version 10.0.2.
View 1 RepliesI am using:
Win7 32bit
2GB RAM, Intel Core 2 Duo 2Ghz
Flash CS5
and I have this problem: i am currently trying to create a 720p movie consisting of 738 single JPG pictures; 6 frames/second. Each picture has 204 KB, all the pictures together add up to 226 MB.Yet still, Flash is crashing (due to memory overload?) once I have loaded like 100 pictures of my sequence... I loaded 90 pictures and tried exporting it as a small AVI-movie, but even that made Flash crash. I checked the Windows task manager, and I saw that even with only 90 pictures loaded, Flash already takes up 1,6 GB of my RAM.Is there a way making Flash save those pictures not on the memory, but on the disk, in a temporary folder or something? I wouldn't care if it takes way longer.
I've been running flash CS4 without error for a few months now, recently though whenever I close it I can't open it back up or I get this error:"The application Adobe Flash CS4 has unexpectedly quit.A crash report has been generated. To provide us with the best chance of fixing this problem, please select Continue to add a detailed description that includes the steps required to reproduce the crash.Recently I've been creating panel extensions and commands but deleting them from the directories to stop them loading didn't make any difference so i doubt it's that
View 9 Repliesi convined by boss to splash out on flash cs4 for work to make the website. it worked fine for about a week. now, when i try to start it, it just starts to load then crashes. it looks as if it is going to load then doesn't. i have tried uninstalling, rebbotiong in safemode and using various registry programs and reinstalling

what happens is that i could be drawing or copying a layer that i need to work with and flash will think for a little bit and then crash says that an unexpected error has occured and all i get is an error excption. i am running CS4 on windows 7 with 5gb of ram.
Since about 4 days ago, every time I open my Flash CS4 project file, Flash crashes.Besides reinstalling.
View 2 RepliesI hate to start a new thread but I didn't see one pertaining to this issue. I hope I am not alone. I recently bought a new iMac and it came with Snow Leopard OS. I ported over my Web Premium Creative Suite and all of my applications work great except for Flash CS4. I open the app to the intro screen but as soon as I try to open an existing project file or even to create a new project file, the app crashes immediately. I tried calling Adobe Support but they only turn me away, saying I need to purchase a $175 Support Plan for help. I just want my Flash to open. The same app works fine on my Macbook Pro (running Leopard). It seems adobe should be willing to help seeing as how the specifications say it is supposed to be compatible with Snow Leopard.Anyway, I have tried installing all updates and Deactivating/Uninstalling and Reinstalling.
View 7 Repliesflash cs4 launches fine but crashes when starting a new action script 3 doc. (quits unexpectedly) it seems to work fine when i log on as a guest user but not as myself (admin). MACPRO desktop OS10.6.2 what can i try to aleavate this problem.
View 1 RepliesI experienced a very strange problem today. As I was working on my FLA file, I tried to paste some text into a static text field using CTRL+V (I am using Vista Home Premium). However, at the time the focus was on the font field in the property window instead of on the text field and all the text I wanted to paste replaced the font name. As I tried to open the font drop down list to select the correct font flash crashed.
Since then I have not being able to open any FLA files. Flash starts without a problem, but if I try to open any FLA file it crashes again. I also tried creating a new FLA file but without success. I copied the FLA in question to another machine and there the file opens without a problem, so the file itself is not corrupted.
I have Adobe CS5 Master Collection trial installed on Windows XP Pro Service Pack 3, 32bit operating system.Every time I try to exit Flash CS5, no matter how (File/Exit, ALT+F4...) it crashes and won't close the window. While I work in Flash, open and close documents it works fine.
View 15 Repliesor context:I just installed Snow Leopard on my Macbook Pro (2007 model) and thus just recently installed CS4 Design Premium Student Ed.

View 2 RepliesI have suddenly encountered a strange problem; each time I try to publish in FL CS3 in Vista I get an error message from Windows about 20% of the way through the status bar which says that Windows is shutting down Flash and will send me a message it figures out why it is shutting down. Is there a way to delete a cached file in the Flash Player folder to make this stop.
View 1 RepliesI'm trying different subversions of FMS 3.5 on CentOS 5.5 ;I tried :
FMS 3.5.1 on CentOS 5.5 64 bits (3.5.2 and 3.5.3 not working, libraries problems)
FMS 3.5.3 on CentOS 5.5 32 bits
FMS 3.5.4 on CentOS 5.5 (fmsadmin illegal instruction) See post http://forums.adobe.com/thread/715650
On 3.5.1 and 3.5.3, the server works well many hours / day, but sometimes the FMS service and the server crashes (tested on 2 servers) ;The only thing i can see in logs is in the /opt/adobe/fms/logs/access.XX.log files and looks like this :

There is something i can do to prevent my server from crashing ? I will try the release 3.5.0 which works well on Gentoo distrib ... but i would like to use last versions of the server.
I'm well & tired of the volume of crashes from Flash CS5. Some are more predictable, like now every time I try to import an FLV it's crashing, so I'll try repairing permissions, and rebooting the computer. Some are more random, like I'm moving something in the Library and it'll just crash out. It's really a terrible experience working in the Flash IDE. I love Actionscript 3, and the Flash Player seems pretty stable. But my God, what do you do when Flash starts bugging out?
View 1 RepliesEverytime I attempt to import anything into Flash CS4 the application crashes. This happens when I try to import a single 14.0 KB file.I have tried to run in compatability mode but it crashes there too. I am currently running Windows XP SP3 and Adobe Flash CS4 version 10.0.2. I have tried to import them into an existing document as well as into a new document with the same issues. The import screen never pops up, there is a quick flash over the application screen and then the "The application Adobe Flash CS has unexpectedly quit" window appears.I need to do this multiple times through out the day to updates sites, and I am at a standstill until I can get this fixed.I know this happens alot and I hope there is somethign other than reinstalling to get it working again.
