Whenever I test a movie or view in html browser, the text is unlightable/selectable. How can I make it so that I can highlight the text and copy/past. You know the options when you right click after highlighting text.
View 3 RepliesI used to have a little text panel (that sat with the color, swatches, and align panels) that I was able to open up and edit text size, color, underline, etc with. It had a much better text editing ability then the properties panel, seeing as the properties panel does not even bother to allow me to underline text or to highlight and edit a single word in a whole text box. Now I don't have it, I can't find the damn thing anywhere, and I want it back. How can I get it?

View 1 RepliesI have attempted to make a movieclip scale in the y axis using _yscale but I can't seem to make it scale to the exact mouse co-ordinates.
Its within a rotating movie clip (controlled by the position of the mouse) and that works fine.

Realistic FLASH spotlight beam, not using a circular mask. I am in desperate need of some information, about realistic spotlights designed with flash. I need the kind that shoot a beam with a round circle on the floor. I have found a great example, at http://www.grisu.com and the owner even shared the fla code with me, but I still don't quite understand how to modify it to work for me. He offered to help, but he only speaks spanish and I only speak English, so we can't communicate.
If you go to his web and view the stage, the beam sweeps the stage and changes the angle and size of the beam. I need a longer and narrower beam. The length of the beam is too short for me, but the idea is just what I need. Does anyone know of any tutorials on this subject? Or possibly other samples so that I may study them in detail.
1. Is a mask necessary to keep all the beams the same length as they scan? As the angle changes, the beam length would change unless a mask or something cuts them off at the floor level always.
2. Motion tween could probably be used to move the beam?
3. Would it be necessary to skew the beam as it sweeps as when it is slanted like that, the width of the beam gets wider as it sweeps away from you and more narrow as it sweeps closer to you.
4. Did you need to use alpha anywhere possobly when the beams cross each other or maybe when it is first turned on?
I would greatly appreciate any advice anyone can give, or steer me in the correct direction for some tutorial information.

I've done mouseover so that when you go over a circle you can see full text in the middle, but I don't know how to make the other "buttons"/circles fade white when I have my mouse over one of the circles. View 1 RepliesIf i open .as file (or something else) in Notepad++ and select any variable or some other text, it will highlight all of the occurences of this variable in text of this opened document. And you can quickly see where this variable have assignemnts and so on. But in Flash CS3 i can only use standard Find dialog to search throug opened .as file and it finds only one occurence, then you hit "Find Next" and you've got another. Not so comfortable. So does that feature exist in Flash CS IDE, or something similar? (i can't find that)

TextRange looks like the appropriate tool, but when I loop through, and create multiple TextRanges for each area/style, the resulting display only appears to show the last one.

I wonder how you can get text in input textfields that dissappear when you click in them to write something. Something similar to what's on [URL] I understand how you get the text there with variables but not how you make it dissappear when you highlight them.

Is there a possibility to make this work, like to make the MC Highlight on Mouse over and distinguish the objects when Overlapping? That's to say to colour the MCs when overlapping? What initially came to my mind is when mouse over the MC's to highlight so that we can drop the colour on it. In the ZIp file contains all the as2 codes.

I'm working on an auto complete Input Text field. The user starts to type the state name "Pennsylvania" and when they reach 4 letters the box auto completes. My code is as follows and works:

Instead of auto completing I want the "sylvania" of Pennsylvania to be added to the text box but highlighted. So if the user keeps typing the "sylvania" part will be deleted or if they press the right arrow key the "sylvania" part will be added. Similar to how Google's auto complete works.

my selectable dynamic text that is generated in xml, I need to change the color of the highlight. When I highlight the text the highlight is gray close to my text color, the result is my text could not be read. I want to change the color of my text and the highlight color when I highlight my text.
