With a regular DataGrid you can use a property called "headerStyleName" to set the color of the header text. According to the documentation this style is applicable to AdvancedDataGrid as well.Url..Here is a sample app that will show you what I'm talking about. View 1 RepliesI use a flex mx:datagrid. I can set the headerBackgroundSkin to specify a skin or a picture to be displayed in all datagrid column's headers and it works just fine !
The problem is I can't find any way to specify a custom skin for the currently sorted column (doesn't matter if the sort is asc or desc, this is just to show the user which column is currently sorted).
I also tried to create a custom headerRenderer for each column but it is quite complicated and doesn't work very well.
I have been looking for the solution for a while but I can't find a good approach to do it. It sounds like a very basic need for me...incredible it is so complicated to achieve with Flex !!

Important note: I'm assuming cells not to editable and the selection mode to be singleRow, i.e. the specific cell needs to render differently from the standard highlight that comes with being part of the selected line.

I need to to a programmatic multi column sorting on the AdvancedDataGrid.The issue is, currently I am implementing paging on my grid. So, if I sort the data,only the perticular page is being sorted. So,I need to sort the entire list by the column criteria.I tried HeaderRelease event,but I guess it is of no use as I need to make a round trip call to the server to get the sorted data.Is there any way I can implement that.I also need to show the sort markers in the Column headers' right position, indicating the sort numbers and direction.

When I try to change the background to black in my flash file & load it in Flex, the background color remains white. I've also tried to update the compiler settings in Flex, adding "-default-background-color #000000" but I still get a white preloader background. I am using Flex 4. Here is my Pre.as file:

How do you control the background color of a movie clip and the stage? i have thought about placing a mc within the mc as a backround_mc, then change the tint attribute from my main timeline, is this on the right track?
i have a movie where a user loads images into an image viewer (mc) i have craeted. If a user clicks on gallery 1, the loader appears, and load the jpg and then tells the viewer to show onceloaded. But, if a user clicks on gallery 1, then clicks on gallery 2, the movie finishes loading picture 1, before loading picture 2, is there any waqy i can force the loader to stop loading one,a dn load two immediately.

How can I change the rollover color of AdvancedDataGrid 's header? It's light-blue by default.I tried using a HeaderRenderer, but it does not help. There is a 2 pixel color border on the top and bottom of the header that I can't control.
