Control Browser Window Size With GetURL?
Jul 1, 2003Just wondering if anyone knows what I would add to my actionscript for a getURL command to make the browser window that opens up a certain size, in my case, really small.

Sep 20, 2010I'm working on a kind of coverflow layout and I'm using an XML file to house my links and information about those links. in my ActionScript, I'm using getURL to point to the link the user clicks and open the link in a new window using the following script:

I need to have the new window open up to a specific size (1014x714), but I'm not sure how to write the AS for this kind of action since I'm calling the link from an external file.

Jul 24, 2006I am using the getURL function in response to a button event. I need it to open the URL (absolute) in a new browser window, but I need the new browser window to open on top of the current browser window. Right now it's opening behind the current browser window. Below is my code:

when I exit the fullscreen mode the links are working,
the project is in as2, flash 9
( clicking on an link that take's you to an external page gets blocked in FireFox3 )

Jun 8, 2010I am trying to build a flash that auto-adjust its size to the browser window size, while leaving the content of the flash itself top-centered in the screen.I have found this solution [URL].. on How to keep centered stuff in this exact case so i am pretty confident i will be able to adjust that script to do what i want.
Now my problem is that if i put my content inside the movie-clip (centerrectangle) with all the animation require, link and other stuff, the movieclip (center rectangle ) never have the exact same center, thus making the script go wild trying to always adjust the location to the variable size of the movie clip.

The new window opens and is about the same size as the parent. Also, this link loads the SWF file that contains audio and images very slow. Any suggestion on the mostly likely cause, or how to speed up the loading of this Flash movie?

Mar 11, 2009I have a website and it is set to 100% of the browser window. Everything in the browser is left aligned. I have a script that when u has an event listener on the RESIZE so that everything will be centered when u adjust the window. What my problem is that right when the page loads the swf is left aligned. I want the stuff to be already centered but the only way to do that is to adjust the browser window. Heres my site: My Example Watch that when it loads its all to the left. Resize the browser and everything will snap to the middle.

Jul 31, 2008i am creating a website for a band, with an mp3 player. i want to be able to make an mp3 player that pops up in a separate browser window. the mp3 player would have a "playlist" that can be dynamically changed from the main window, which gives a list of albums & tracks to choose from. the model for this is Rhapsody's web interface. so, how would i go about creating & dynamically changing the playlist (while music is playing) across multiple browser windows? the "playlist" would be an array of references to mp3s, i guess-- so is there a way to pass events & variables across the windows?

Feb 10, 2009what I want to do is publish my flash file so that it scales down but not up!So if a browser window happens to be smaller than the pixel height, the movie is scaled down but if the browser window is bigger than the pixel size, the movie is not resized and just centered.
