Data Integration :: Datagrid, XmlConnector In Internet Explorer?
Jan 22, 2007
I have developped a actionScript interface which connects a mySQL database to get data trough an XMLConncetor and fill a datagrid on the stage. When I test the swf locally with the SWFplayer it works perfectly. To make long story short, the xmlConnector connects the database and fill the datagrid. You can modify the data by clicking on buttons because they are bounded to xmlconnector and this one update the database and the refresh function opf the datagrid works.
The problem comes when I upload the swf on a web server and I try to connect the database. The first connection is okay but when I click on buttons, the request is sended to the database but the datagrid is not updated, even if I set an intervall or I code a function wich refresh the data...However, in IE, if you erase the cache and reload the page, modifications are there...
I have a Flash output file that uses both LoadVars and XMLConnectors. While LoadVars all work on all tested browsers, XMLConnector does something very strange and ONLY on Internet Explorer. When I try to use it, the listeners for the XMLConnector say send (using GET Method), status is correct (StatusChange), but the data that returns is crazy (outputs 11). I am suppose to get a full xml data stream, but all I get is 11. This happens in IE (PC) only. In Netscape on PC or Mac) it is fine, on Firefox (PC or Mac) is it fine, on Safari it is fine. SO, has anyone able to use the XMLConnector properly on IE (FP8)? The parameters for the problem are: Flash Player 8, Internet Explorer 6, PC.
I've been making a simple RSS reader flash widget for my webpage. It works perfectly when I test it locally, but when I publishit, I always get the No.Data.Received error. I've played with allthe parameters on the XMLConnector and all the publish settings, but no dice. The only thing that I can think of is that I'm loading RSSfrom a different site, but it isn't restricted in any way.
I need to dynamically insert (attachedMovie) a movie that has a ComboBox with in and then I need to bind this ComboBox to an existing _root.myXMLConnector.
I am trying to run some code after the XMLConnector triggerfunction is completely done loading all of the xml data into theflash file and the bindings are updated. Is there an event or somekind of way to pause and run the code after all the radiobuttonsand checkboxes are updated with the xml boolean values?
I have a text inside a xml file and i would like to display this text in a dynamic text field, using the xmlConnector. The files are at the following address:[url]............
I can not read my XML into a DataGrid. I have looked at the TimeSheet tutorial and have been able to get it to work, but can not make the adjustments to this file. I was wondering if there was a problem with XML itself?
I have a dataGrid which i've populated from an XML file.I want to be able to click a row and to use information fromthat row. This seems fine at first, but then when I click theheaders to change the sort order, the data isn't in the same orderas the XML file anymore, so the itemIndex doesn't refer to the itemanymore - only the position in the datagrid.
I've really looked hard to find an example/tutorial for loading external XML data into a DataGrid component using AS3. The code I'm using at the moment has the XML data in the AS code.
Here is the code that is working for internal XML data: import fl.controls.dataGridClasses.DataGridColumn; import fl.data.DataProvider; stop(); var emailXML:XML = <emails> [Code] .....
I am trying to populate a datagrid based on a value selected from a combobox. The data comes from a xml file, which looks something like this,[code]The user can list data in the datagrid based on either "media" and "region." For example, the user should be able to choose "Europe" from the combobox and list "only" media having "Europe" in the region tags. In this case, if the user chooses "Europe" from the Combobox only one listing (rammstein) will be seen in the Datagrid. However, it doesn't work. I get a blank datagrid. Loading data into the datagrid is not the problem, because if I just use a straight For loop with no conditions I fill the datagrid no problem. The problem comes up when I try to control what data get listed in the datagrid based on selected value in the combobox.[code]
Id like to have an XMLConnector read an xml-file (containing dates, and a "To Do" string for each date).A DateChooser should be on stage, enabling the user to select a date, and view the textstring for that specific date pop up in a DataGrid.Something very similar to this tutorial, in the section "Arrays and Indexing", replacing the ComboBox with a DateChooser:
http:[url].....I tried modifying the tutorial accordingly, but without success. I guess my skills aint good enough to accomplish this yet.
I have a datagrid with multiple columns. I can click a column header to sort the rows, but I don't know how to sort on two or more rows. For example, last name, age, then racing time.
I'm exploring various ways to get data into a DataGrid component from a remote service. I've managed to use DataGlue to map my results to different fields the DataGrid, however what I'd like to do is use the component inspector to and bindings. The Problem i have is that I want to display only certain fields. so in the remoting connector i have this set up conn::results.items.[n].id => grid::dataProvider.[n].identifier Now I would assume that my grid would show the id in the results returned but it doesn't. I've seen a lot of posts on this so I know there are a lot of others puzzled by this.
I have an SQL database setup which contains Herbal Information such as CommonName, LatinName, MedicalUse etc, and need to display the information in a Flash DataGrid Component. I also have the corresponding PHP script to connect, retrieve, add and delete items from the database. Although I am familiar with Flash in a design sense I have limited experience using Action Scripts and am unable to complete the connection myself.
It seems there are lots of topics close to this, but none with answers. I have attempted to complete the Dinner Menu sample example in Flash 8. I finally got ti to work but the columns do not match the order of the items in the XML document. I cannot find an answer to this problem anywhere on the internet so far.
I have a DataGrid bound to an XMLConnector and XMLDataSet. The XML data loads fine into the components. However, I cannot get the value of the selected index using: my_datagrid.selectedIndex
The call works fine if you use addItem to populate the grid.
Is there an issue being that the datagrid.selectedIndex parameter is bound to the XML components?
Test FrameRate in combination of browsers, flash plugin versions on Win32
Expect:
Framerate to be close in most cases
Observed:
I am seeing a 25% decrease in framerate under IE7 using Flash10b.ocx(10.0.22) and 50% decrease in framerate using Flash10c.ocx(10.0.32). PLugins under FireFox, Safari and in Mac OSX don't exhibit the same slowdown.
I would like to get help/confirmation on a performance problem that I see in Internet Explorer. The Adobe and Flash community is great on the Internet but I have been surprised to see no information on this, just a few reports about movie playback on 10.0.32 vs. 10.0.22.
My guess is that in IE flash plugin is passing draw calls to Win32 and that this is slow.
Instead of drawing each time on the bitmap using draw, cache the draw calls to a bitmap and use CopyPixels. When I do this the performance is the same across browsers, within 10%.
I have a website with a Flash banner. This has worked fine in all major browsers (IE7/8,Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera) for some time, but when I upgraded to IE9, the banner is displayed with a 1 pixel shim on the right-hand edge, which is throwing the layout off.know past versions of IE would display line breaks as white space and I wonder if that's what's going on here. I'm using the AC_FL_RunContent() function to display the Flash file.I'm not sure where to look to debug this, but I'd like to fix it sooner rather than later
I'm trying to use the Facebook Actionscript graph api but I seem to be having problems in IE (other browsers like chrome and firefox seem okay so far).
From what i can tell, it's logging in fine and returning the user id but when i do a lookup on that user with Facebook.api(_user, handleUserRequest); I get an error.
Is there any known problems with the Facebook Actionscript graph api that affects IE only?
i am accessing flash content in IE.I am getting this error all the time.Error - Alternate HTML content should be placed here. This content requires the Adobe Flash Player. Get Flash
If you'll visit the site lab.buffspec.com SPECIFICALLY using Internet Explorer 9 and select a gildan 6.1, a hanes 6.1 or a gildan hood and then click on the get pricing button you will see that despite updating the quantity the total price isn't shown. This happens in Internet Explorer 9 only for these 3 shirts, the others work fine. And this behavior occurs only in IE9, the site works fine in firefox and chrome. When I select Developer tools in IE9 and go the network tab and start capturing, I find that the request shows '(Aborted)' and the initiator tab shows '(Pending)'.
I have a preloader with the following code stop(); this.loaderInfo.addEventListener(ProgressEvent.PRO GRESS, onProgress); this.loaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, onComplete); function onProgress(erogressEvent):void { var loaded:Number = e.target.bytesLoaded; [Code] ..... It works great with Firefox and Safari on a mac but when viewing in internet explorer on a pc, the loader does not work at all.
i'm developing aplication in which there is one section for games....bt in games which i have put there, this games open internet explorer when user clicks on buttons in games. also there is restriction that i can not modify the buttons in game ..I dnt want this games to open web browser whn button isclicked..
The attached AS3 file is a simplified implementation of the Karplus-Strong plucked string algorithm, and demonstrates the use of the SampleDataEvent.SAMPLE_DATA event to synthesize audio on the fly. This will run all day long in Mozilla Firefox (Windows) or Safari (Mac). It crashes in IE6 and IE7 on Windows XP/Vista (you may have to give it some time, it probably won't crash immediately).
I'll try my best to articulate the problem here. I have a client who is using IE6 on a hand-held device. They need an AS2 scripted file for Flash Player 7. I have the following script that serves as a welcome screen. It plays the welcome movie, then pauses for 4 seconds, then proceeds to the "intro" frame to begin the next movie.[code]...
It works fine on every browser I've used in-house. For some reason, however, the client says it gets hung up and won't proceed to the "intro" frame to play the next movie. I've tried eliminating the initial stop(); script, but then it doesn't play the movie at all and just goes to the next frame.
