Data Integration :: XML LoadMovie - Getting Undefined Error Message?

I am in the middle of making an xml driven menu. Each button has an image which loads from an external folder and 3 dynamic text fields. The content for the text fields is taken from an external XML file and I would also like the image to be defined in the XML file. The problem I am having is when I use the code attached below .I get the following error message; :
'Error opening URL
'file:///C|/Documents%20and%20Settings/barry.gee/Desktop/undefined'
However when I manually enter the image url as commented out in the attached code the image loads fine.

I found out that if XML file's attribute contains German special chars (chars with umlaut, like:..) then I get "undefined" answer when I try to read an attributes value. I tryed to change XML file encoding to: "UTF-8" and "iso-8859-1" but still no luck. "system.useCodepage = true;

The flash movie in my server (www.mydomain.com) is trying to access data from a different domain (www.otherdomain.com). I've placed the crossdomain.xml in the webroot of the otherdomain. I am getting flash error on accessing the data from otherdomain. When I tracked the HTTP request sent, it shows only one request with URL: https:[url]....
INET_E_SECURITY_PROBLEM.Its clear from this result that IE is not able to load crossdomain.xml file from otherdomain.The same application works in Mozilla Firefox and failing in IE6.

When creating a new presentation with Flash CS5 on Windows 7, I am able to add audio to the library, but get a virtual memory error when I try to then add the audio to the stage. The error says: "There is not enough memory to complete the operation. To increase available memory, close open documents or quit and increase virtual memory to allow more memory for Flash."This happens even when I am running no other programs. I have 145 GB of free space, 4.00 GB of RAM. Initial size of virtual memory is 6141, and maximum is 7000. I have an AMD Anthlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor, and a 64-bit OS. Other applications run fine, and I was always able to perform this step (drag audio to stage from library) with CS4 on XP. I got a new computer at the same time as CS5 and since then have been unable to use Flash.

I am running into an issue with passing variables from Actionscript 3 to PHP.This is a very basic program just for testing purposes to find out if this will work.Here is the Actionscript 3 coding (One button named 'btn_Submit' and one text box named 'txt_User' are on the stage).This is a very simple attempt to input text into an 'Input Text Box', upon pressing a submit button, it should pass the text to a php file named 'test.php'.The .swf file and the test.php files are both located in the same directory on my webserver (main directory for subdomain 'www.testing.budgetmylife.net')For the URLRequest parameter, I have even tried just ("test.php"), without success:

I have a video player that is currently using XML for its video library which is all fine and dandy. Now I have some developers working on a CMS type page in PHP that is going to hopefully pass some sort of information to my player that will let it know where the video is stored on our server. Is there a way to do this without using FMS? If so does anyone have ideas where I can find the information for it.

Using a script for an mp3 player. Desktop testing, movie shows 'undefined' message. I use the original xml file and all is well. I replace one of the defined urls in the original xml with one of my own - undefined shows up. I've checked syntax, typos - none. I've checked my mp3 links - show up fine online.

I've created some error handling for external images loaded via a path in XML. Within the Flash preview it's fine and shows the full error message (and most importantly, the URL that isn't loading).
But in the browser, even locally, it doesn't out put this message!

#1006: value is not a function. at MethodInfo-43() I don't know what the problem is, or where could it be, here is the problem code, but first a brief description: Every 3 seconds 3 enemies will be created with a random position, the enemies can't be appearing on top of the other so I check if they collide with any previously added enemies, if they do I assign other random coordinates and check again until there is no collision (I'm using the collision detection kit CDK for the collisions[URL]..the first 3 enemies appear correctly but afterwards the error appears and the next time the program enters the generation part the enemies begin appearing in ridiculous numbers.

i am currently trying to learn ZendAMF, but i have a hard time troubleshooting which makes learning it quite hard. Is there a way to make the PHP file throw an exception that gets traced as an error message in AS3 (not Flex), the only error i seem to be able to get is "Error #2044: Unhandled NetStatusEvent:. level=error, code=NetConnection.Call.Failed", but it tells me jack ****.
i have gotten ZendAMF working, i just want to know how i can make error handling better, so that as an example can use PHP to tell flash that no results were found, or that the typed text was invalid. Is it better to use AS3 to check if the field was filled properly?

I'd like to create one empty Flash movie that is essentially a placeholder for externally loaded content I can change through XML. This content would just be able to randomly load 1 of 3 photos, with a button linking to a website within each of the photos on page load. If the user refreshes the page, a new photo with it's link would appear, but I understand since it's random,having 3 images the same image is likely to reappear, but I can always add additional photos and links.
Does anyone know of a tutorial that might lead me on the correct path to create this? I've found some tuts, but they've been different than my need.

We want to be able to upload over 100+ files (if needed) to a server along with desc + keywords. I see that Flash 8 has the neccessary tools to handle file uploading, but my question is, can we have it act as a Stand alone FTP program so that we can utilize the fastest user upload, or will we be confined to the settings in the server INI settings.IE MAX_UPLOAD_TIME,MAX_FILESIZE, etc. If possible we want to avoid using the HTTP upload as it is noticeably slower. So if we can use flash to utilize user BW to upload, then that would be ideal.

I got a music portfolio web site running PHP, MySQL and Flash. There's a page showing all the artists my client worked for and when you click on a song title, this title is passed as a variable to a PHP page then to a Flash page. The Flash page contains an actionscript music player which then looks for the right audio file in the database and plays the song. Everything works great except for the dynamic text field which displays the song title. If the song title contains an apostrophe or a single quote, the Flash dynamic text field then shows the apostrophe.[code]

Im trying to use dynamic SQL tables on my PHP server so I need to pass the table name to the PHP script. I don't understand why the Data Management system that sets up CRUD won't allow this extra parameter. It says it can only have one input: item. I can get all records, but when I try to create, update, or delete I get an error.
Or is there another way I can pass the tablename variable to the php file before I call any functions?

Im new to placing external data into Flash. I just got CS3 and Im trying to use Flash to dynamically load XML data via a FlashVars call in the HTML.
The problem is I have followed the very straight forward AS2 Help files for using FlashVars and URL variables.I have placed the code directly from the Help file into the Html between

I'm trying to read some data in from a sql source, some of which contains double quotes embedded in the text. I know I can strip the doublequotes, but don't want to go that route if I can avoid it. I've tried replacing to double quotes with hex codes before passing the text via parameter to my flash file, but the text string always cuts off at the hex code, the same as if the double quote were present in the string.
