Let's say you have the following xml document. Now how do I access the name thumb here is my loop. Also I want to store the value in an array but I don't want the xml tags to be stored in there as well. How do I get rid of the xml tags with assigning the data to an array.

I need to convert that to work in Flash but I cant change the XML. I figured that I will have to parse through things line by line and strip out values of ***.xml and the ID# but I have no idea how to construct a link that will load, retarget the myText object and then jump to the anchor in XML/html format. Are Anchor tags allowed?
i am using loadvars to load url encoded data from a php file.
when i trace the output it shows that the variables have been retrived successfully.
now i need to use the values by assingning then to a variable. i cant seem to get this going

I'm having an issue with TextFormat tags that are appearing in textfields. Here's an overview of what I'm doing: Basically, I'm trying to grab the text from a textArea component: (myText = myTextArea.text")
Because I want to retain formatting, I have the textArea set to be html. Thus, myText becomes the text you see below
So the myText data is then stored in XML, but later when I try to access it, it fills that same textArea component with the literal code rather than the formatted text. How do I take that TextFormat string and convert it back to it's original form? I've

I am making a site in php, however the menu in header is made in flash.Until now working, taking variables from php, but now is the site of two languages and having to take an array of php (texts in the menu (flash) must be read from the php file). I would like to be able to dynamically populate a dynamictext field (assuming that's the best component to use) with anarray of data from PHP.I have attached my PHP code and my Flash Code.The PHP code is working fine and generating the array.The first part of the AS code is working as I can see thepop-up window with the PHP array in it. There's a page showing all the artists my client worked for and when you click on a song title, this title is passed as a variable to a PHP page then to a Flash page. The Flash page contains an actionscript music player which then looks for the right audio file in the database and plays the song. Everything works great except for the dynamic text field which displays the song title. If the song title contains an apostrophe or a single quote, the Flash dynamic text field then shows the apostrophe.[code]

I don't understand why the Data Management system that sets up CRUD won't allow this extra parameter. It says it can only have one input: item. I can get all records, but when I try to create, update, or delete I get an error.
Or is there another way I can pass the tablename variable to the php file before I call any functions?

I know I can strip the doublequotes, but don't want to go that route if I can avoid it. I've tried replacing to double quotes with hex codes before passing the text via parameter to my flash file, but the text string always cuts off at the hex code, the same as if the double quote were present in the string. To ensure proper saving without surprising the user with a permissions dialog unexpectedly, I'd like to request unlimited data storage on first time app launch - Joey Lott shows how to do this in the Actionscript Cookbook... request=mySO.flush(1024 * 500);
My question is,Can I perform this permissions request with the user a single time with a generic app SO in global fashion, so that the permissions would be set for any SOs created during the use of the product (all written to same SO directory),or do I have to request
permissions for each and every SO created? Since the latter would be unacceptable from a UE standpoint, that means stuffing all app data into a single SO which doesn't seem so great from a data config perspective...

Whenever the xml.load(success) returns false I have the Flash email me a debug report. For the life of me I can not find a common thread between all of these people having problems with the Flash. I don't think it's a cross-domain issue because it works for most people, and I have the crossdomain.xml files where they should be.

I have an Access Database (doesn't need to be Access, I can phpAdmin or mysql, whatever will work) that has a list of names. I want the user to open a Flash form and have the names load up into seperate input boxes for each name. The user can then change the names, move them, whatever, and then save the record. I want it to just overwrite the record. I donlt want create a new record. I cannot, for the life of me, figure this out. I have tried to find some tutorials but nothing makes sense. Is ASP a good way to go? I have been struggling with this for a week now.
