Apr 29, 2011I can still create the video and the files and it all works in dreamweaver when I preview in iexplore. When I put the files and the page into the host server it shows the skin and no video. If my paths are wrong I do not know where to check them. I need help MY whole career is on hold until I know how to do this like clockwork/ I need step by step with creating and changing paths and uploading using cpanel or dreamweaver. getting the files made and uploaded is easy part. I have been here before and cheers to the help. I really need an in depth answer about how to do this from start to finish. I have looked at all tutorials and they all make it seem so easy but dont show anything on paths. If my video works in dreamweaver but not online live what is wrong? I am lost and on edge lost many weeks of sleep over this simple process.

Feb 21, 2010I purchased a flash website template and am in the process of editing my main.fla file. In order to get listed on an advertising website with a higher rating, I have to place a reciprocal link to them on my site. However, I cannot figure out how to place an html link/banner on my site for other businesses. If I paste the html code in a text box, all that shows up is the html code rather than the image and link it is meant to generate.

Jan 30, 2009I've been working on my first full blown flash site for a few weeks, tackling problems as I encounter them, and I've learned a lot...but sometimes the simplest things I cannot figure out for the life of me. All I am trying to do is have some flash banner SWF files play within the portfolio page of my site. I don't want them to open in a pop up or anything just play within the page when the link on my site is clicked. I figured it would act like a movie clip and I could just drop it onto the stage, but when I do that it doesn't look right, loops continuously, and is not interactive. How can I make this work?

Sep 1, 2008I'm a front end designer, so I don't have much experience with coding and I'm having a lot of trouble finding a solution to this problem. What I want to do is take the value of $MyState in the php code below and get a flash file located on the same page to recognize the value..
PHP Code:
$MyState = $_GET['MyState'];
MyState is defined dynamically through the address bar, i.e. http://www.mysite.com/mypage.php?MyState=Something
The value of MyState is constantly changing so doing a loadvars from mypage.php won't work. Is there a way to loadvars and get the value of what is in the address bar? _url also does not work. _url is seen as mysite.com/myflashfile.swf.
Or does anyone know of any other ways to get the results I'm looking for?

Actionscript 3 :: Read All Values From Properties File That Match Certain Key Pattern?
Mar 12, 2012I've got a properties file with two distinct key-value pair patters like the following;name.name.name.key = valuename.name.fullname.key = valueAccessing them one by one is fine if the key is known.What I need now, though, is to access ALL values from say name.name.name without knowing the keys (integers to be exact). The values then have to be added to an ArrayList to be displayed in a List.The keys are completely random, so I don't know the range beforehand (I can't and don't want to hardcode the range of range of keys for each single properties file), so simply looping through a previously defined range isn't what I need here. Also, the keys are not successive.
How can I do this with AS3?Just for clarification as this seems to be a little confusing;I do not want to parse the properties file. I rather want to solve this using the methods AS and Flex already provide.The ResourceBundle class already has a method that outputs the content of the specified bundle. However, it contains all values. What I need is just a subset of values that match a given key pattern.Edit:To make this easier, I can drop the key pattern matching and create a new resource file with a distinct pattern. Now I only need to get all key-value pairs (I need both the integers from the keys and the value) from that resource.

May 21, 2010I created a banner with 9 in and out fading pictures. Also the navigation buttons are located in this banner. When I click on the navigation buttons in the banner and the next page is loaded, the banner starts playing at picture 1 again. Same goes for the navigation outside the banner. Is it possible to make the banner continue when you go to the nexte page? So when I click on a button while picture nmbr3 is showing and I get the next page it still is on picture nmbr 3 and not starting at picture nmbr 1 again.

I've managed to get the services link to do what I'm after but that is because it is positioned straight after the opening animation in the timeline - that is to have the banner fade out and the bottom line drop down to allow room for the content. From the home page I want each of the links, when clicked, to fade out the banner and drop the banner line down......THEN.......if home is clicked from any of the other pages I want the banner line to move back up and the banner to resume (in my case this is frame 279)
