Flash Datagrid Change Cell Color Depending Upon Updated Data

I have a datagrid in my Flash app whose data keeps updating quite frequently.On every update, I need to change the cell color of only those cells whose data has changed.That too, if the updated value is less than the older value then the cell color should change to RED else, GREEN.I have tried using labelFunction, cellrenderer, etc. But to no avail.By no means, I am able to access the present data in the cells to compare it with the new data.
I have a multi-column DataGrid that I've populated only three of the seven columns with data. One of the columns are editable. The other three are not editable. What I intend to do is have the user enter data into the editable column. Once the data is entered, The other three empty non-editable columns will populate based on calculations done to the value in the editable column.The problem is that when I enter data into a row of the editable column, the data isn't being reflected as entered until I try to add a new row. Is there any way to get the value being entered into the cell right after it is entered without the user having to enter a new row?
I'm working on simulating a diagnostic tool and I'm using a dataGrid as part of the sim. I'm populating the dataGrid with an xml file. It loads and runs fine.I need to change the values of the dataGrid cells when the user presses the buttons. For example, if a cell row 0, column 0 has a value of 51, it needs to change to 45-88 when the user presses a button.
I am creating Flex application.When enter data in data grid cell that time i want to check that cell value is less then 20 and if it not then change that cell's back color to red.
i have a simple datagrid having 2 columns named as image and place. where image column has mx.controls.Image itemRenderer and place is simple. my requirement is to change itemRenderer of image cell when it will be clicked. i means to say when user click on any image from image column than i want to show that image path in editable mode and when user edit that path then the selected cell will start displayed the updated image.
I have a Flex DataGrid where one individual cell needs to be rendered in a different way from others. Specifically, for one row of the grid, one of its cells should be hidden.
The DataGridColumn is set out like this in my .mxml file:

but that doesn't work - in fact it messes up the display in a rather entertaining fashion (one of the other cells in the row gets an extra checkbox.. I suspect it may be possible by using a custom ItemRenderer class but that seems like a lot of code overhead for a fairly simple case.
simple (?) question: what's the easiest way to programmatically change the style of an ADG cell most recently clicked by the user? Important note: I'm assuming cells not to editable and the selection mode to be singleRow, i.e. the specific cell needs to render differently from the standard highlight that comes with being part of the selected line.
I have a flex data grid. It contains two column Maths Mark and English Mark. If Math Mark >English Mark for any row then it will set that particular row color as Green.
I am working on a problem since a week soon, but I still couldn't make it work as expected. I have a DataGrid which has HBox with a CheckBox an a Label as itemRenderer (see Code below). When I tap in to the Cell the standard itemEditor pops up and lets you enter the content of the label. Thats the standard behavior. I works fine except for 2 problems:
If I enter to much text, the horizontal srollbar pops up, and the cell is filled with that scrollbar. As you see I tried to set the horizontalScrollPolicy to off, but that doesnt work at all... I tried to do that for all the different elements, but the failure is still existent. When I have filled more than one row, there is an other mistake happening. If I tap on a row, the datagrid selects the one below that row. That's only if one line is already selected. If I tap outside the datagrid and then, tap at any row the itemEditor of the right row will show up... Is there anything now wright in the setup of my set data method?
Is there any way I can change the text color in my datagrid? I am looking for the simplest solution possible. I want to change all of the text to red instead of black. how to accomplish this?
Does not want to work for me. Tracing the expression in debug it is returning "XMLList (@11e55e8d1)".
The datasource is an XMLListCollection. tracing the expression myDataGid.selectedItem I can see the studentID node and it has a value.
I see that starting with Flex 4.5, Adobe recommends that we use the spark.components.DataGrid class as an alternative to the mx:dataGrid which I am not at all familiar with or where to start to learn. I have this mx:dataGrid all setup and otherwise working and would prefer not to have to learn something new.

This list have to have their names in different colors (gold and white).Upon mouse roll over they go on a "light green" color (JUST the text) and return to their regular state on mouse out.It used to be easy on AS2 since I had access to specific tutorials about that, but now on AS3 I feel completely lost.I've managed to get the text colors by a code I found that sorta "cheats" by replacing an inhibit class inside the datagrid forcing it to accept html code. I have two tables: Person {pID, pName, deptID} and Departments {deptID,deptName}An SQL statement like this gets me the name of a person and the department name:

The above works fine. I have a Flex DropDownList that is populated with deptNames. When I click the submit button, I am able to obtain the ID of the selected department without problem:

From the comment above, I see that adding person will indeed add the attributes of the person object to the datagrid, except that one attribute is a foreign ID (deptID) from departments.
I am using a datagrid in flex and need to render each cell with a different style.What could be the best way to set a style to a perticular cell in datagrid/advanced datagrid (flex)?
I think one possible option can be extend the datagrid and override the drawRowBackgroungd function. Apart from this can i use some custom item renderer or some property similar to label function of a series, there it used to return label here we need a style.
I'm building a Multimedia Player front end and we have some action features we'd like to include. Some of the features are like: add to favorites, bookmark and rating.
For rating and add to favorites I just need to some how send a variable with the value to the server. Do you have any tutorials and or suggestions to approach this?
I don't need to know how the back end works, i just need to know what to pass in the flash and how to send out the updated variable back to the server.
Is it possible to "read" a text from a website that is updated from javascript like currency-quotes on this website directly from flash/AIR?It would be very time consuming to load the whole website each time. Therefore it would be nice to interact directly with the javascript.
i am working on an aplication using flex,adobe air...i have a datagrid with a XML as my dataprovider...during the execution of program my XML is updated....after XMl is updated and saved my datagrid should also get update..I have used Dataprovidername.refresh() method but it is not working.
I have created a datagrid with 2 columns. The first one is the normal text data and the second column contains buttons for each cell. What I want to do is retrieve the text information when the corresponding button on the same row is clicked. How do I get this information? I am unable to use selectedItem because I do not want to select the correct row before pressing the button.
