The code below works great except the user has to right click the video and then left click "play". Is there a way to add the control bar via param?

I supplied a flash ad to a digital publication, the magazine ones where the pages flip. My ad has different pages you can view when you hover over the top tabs. On each of these pages are words or buttons that you can click on to direct you to a URL. I used the simple code (Actionscript 1.0, Macromedia Flash MX) below to achieve this:

I'm trying to upload images generated in my Flash application to an album on Facebook.This was working earlier in the year, but revisiting the code I now get the following OAuthException:#324) Requires upload file am using the most recent version of the ActionSccript Facebook API. If I have a main.swf which loads, for example, outside.swf, is there a way to make outside.swf useless if run on its own, but working when loaded via main.swf? The purpose would be preventing people from running parts of a presentation on a CD, forcing them to use only the main.exe projector file. I tried making a Boolean variable called "allowed" in outside.swf telling the movie not to play if it's set to false, and then tried changing this property from main.swf after loading it by calling loader.content, but it didn't work.

I have a simple class file for buttons. on Rollover the movieclip plays frame no 2 and on Rollout it plays frame no 11. This is working fine. Now I want to disable the current button on click/release and enable others. I don't know how to get the other buttons because the this keyword always refer to the current button that is rolled over of clicked.

I have some multiframe swf file and I want to have control of them. For example, I can use gotoandplay and gotoandstop functionality.
I tried something like: var m:MovieClip = new movieFire() as MovieClip; but it turns out when I tried to get totalFrames, m.totalFrames, it gives me zero, and gotoand* functions don't work either. How can I correctly control the swf file embedded in actionsript 3.0 (No Flex component)?

how to put mp3 which is just speaches done, be put alone in a flash file. Do i have to import sound? I wanted to be able to put 3 different mp3 files in flash and have people able to click on any sound and hear it. Be able to play and start and pause a sound. Is it possible are should I use something other than flash. Are should I convert to mp3 into another format and put in flash.

We use subversion, which works great for software projects. We also have a lot of flash projects, which we don't use any kind of source control. Each flash project contain quite a few images. The time frame of each project is a couple weeks, but few can go upto a couple months.
The number of files we create contribute to quite a bit of file size. To keep repository size at a minimum, we want to keep the latest version only and wipe out previous history once a project is finished. History is useless to us after a project is finished.
It looked into subversion, but it doesn't allow to remove anything from the repository. I need to perform this workaround here.
One easy way is creating a separate repository for each project. When the project is over, save the latest version to archive and wipe out the repository. The number of active projects is about 50 - 100. Is there any issue with creating one repository per project?

I am working on a project which there are two .swf file play side by side simultaneously. I need to use one of the file to control the animation in another file.
If they are in same .swf it should be easy. I can just use:
gotoAndPlay("frameNumber")
but there are two .swf now. (lets say movieA and movieB) I think I should use something like:
"LinkToMovieB".gotoAndPlay("frameNumber")
"LinkToMovieB" should be the link to movie clip in the movieB file.
my problem is how do I get the link to movie B's movie clip. or there is other proper way to do this task.

I have decompiled the movie to see its inner workings, but I know nothing about Flash, so I'm mostly in the dark. I have a flex application and have embedded a flash (SWF) file into it using <mx:SWFLoader>. There is an "Exit" button on the Flash file. I want to be able to handle the button click event on the flex application.
So when that button in the flash file is clicked, I want to perform an action in the parent flex application.

I'm trying to create a flash animation where the user can click and drag ingredients around a kitchen, following a recipe, in order to make a meal.In the situation I am working on now, multiple ingredients need to be dragged into a frying pan, and then a timer appears counting down a specific time to cook those ingredients.Does flash enable me to drag a set number of ingredients (movie clips) into a frying pan (movie clip), with any unwanted ingredients being returned to their starting position and have the knowledge to start a timer when it knows those ingredients have been added? (it doesnt matter about the order that they are added)

As mentioned in release notes to Flash Player 11, developers added LZMA compression support.
Question is how can one enable this support? Maybe there's an mxmlc option? Or more steps?
Simply setting -swf-version=13 and switching playerglobal.swc in sdk didn't work for me.

Is it possible to configure a flash SWF so that it not only is transparent, but also let's users click through to the HTML below?
The scenario: Imagine a horizontal drop down menu. That menu is a transparent SWF. For it to have a drop down I need to set the movie dimensions for something like width: 1000px; height: 250px; Those 250px will overlap an html slider. Users won't be able to click the slider because the flash movie has a higher z-index.

Is it possible to enable the user to resize an object in the flash movie?
What I want is a box for example, that can be dragged and dropped but also resized both vertically and horizontally. For example the user is able to drag the bounds of the box in a direction thereby making the box bigger or smaller. The mouse should also change to tell the user that he/she is enabled to do so.
