I have a completed Flash, but I need to change the stage height. Is there anyway to do this with out have to touch every cell. I have a ball that moves across the the stage, and I don't want to redo the whole thing. I've tried selecting all and moving the items, but it doesn't work.
View 6 RepliesI have an html page that loads a swf that loads an AS 3 animation with 4 dozen 60k jpgs that rely on the tween class to move them across the screen.
I'd like to start the empty stage at 10px, and after the jpgs load, animate the height to 142px, pushing down the html underneath and run the parade.

View 6 RepliesRight now my stage dimensions are 980 X 800 px. I need to cut or "crop out" the bottom portion of the footer because its height is too long. So I changed the stage dimensions to 980 X 600 px (and changed the corresponding dimensions in the embed tag in the index.html file to match). Doing this seems to cut out the bottom but at the same time adds space to the top and seems to distort the overall spacing. Is there a simple way to crop out the bottom of the stage (just like cropping out a section of a photo)?
View 5 RepliesI didn't find that my flash is larger than the browsering area on screen until I publish and preview it in my browser but I do want all the content to be displayed on the screen. All I need to do is to move everything up for about 150 px.(in other words, to shorten the stage by 150 from the top but I can only cut the stage from the bottom ) Is there a way I can change the position of the stage like what I can do to the artboard in AI?

I've tried several software to change the video dimensions but as far as it seems all of them keep the same height-width ratio than in the original video. Is there any software that would allow me to change the height and width without keeping the same height/width ratio as in the original video file?

I'm trying to edit an HTML that uses swfobject to load a flash file.
What I'm trying to do is to reduce the size of the SWF file.
I've tried editing the height and width parameter within the swfobject(), but that didn't work.
I tried reducing the width height in the HTML css, but that also didn't work..
How can I pass a 'width' or a 'height' parameter to the swfobject so it will actually load the swf in a smaller or 'zoomed out' way?
I am looking at the SimpleButton entirely wrong. Here's what I'm doing (inside of a MovieClip):

the close_btn.width and height remain 0. Am I supposed to just rely on the DisplayObject members of the SimpleButton completely and ignore width/height/x/y or what?
I want to change the height of a textfield to 60 pixels, without changing the size of the text, and still keeping it centered. When I want to change the size of the texfield, I can change the length, but the height is unfortunately locked. Any ideas? My center section has a MovieClip called info_txt, and I'm trying to make it high 20% of the center_mc's height. I do this, but I also load a text in that field (info_txt) with XML, and when the text (xml) is loaded and placed in the textfield it doesn't go multiline, but stays nowrap.

In flex the width can be set to 100%,but in flash it seems I can only set the width/height in unit of px.
Is there a way to set the stage to 100% instead of xxx px in flash?

I'm a total beginner at ActionScript, and I'm running into a big problem with a Flash banner I'm writing. The problem is that my Stage width and height appear to be much smaller than the width and height specified in my <object> and <embed> tags of the HTML. My goal is to get the Stage width and height to be equal to the <object> and <embed> width and height, so that I can make commercial banners with full-size backgrounds.
The width x height specified in the <object> and <embed> tags is 400 x 300. To force the Stage to be 400 x 300, I've added a 400 x 300 TextField as a child of my main Sprite object. As a diagnostic, I even printed the Stage's width and height as part of the TextField text content -- which confirmed that the Stage thinks it's at 400 x 300. I've tried different things to get it to work. I've tried playing around with the Stage's scaleMode property, using all the possible different values, but still the problem persists. Still, when viewed on the web page, the width and height of the Stage appears much smaller than the <object> and/or <embed> tags which contains the Flash content area. I know this because I'm using colored backgrounds as a diagnostic.

I'm using Flash CS4, as3 and adobe air file. I have an application with 3 scenes, first scene to login, second to set up, and third to see an video. The problem is that, when I put a component in the second or third scene, if a change any property in the component inspector, any property it gives me error. So put the component and I change property by code in as3. But I'm doing things with FLVPlayback component, and now before enter the scene gives me error, the solution will be to get the original properties, but I don't remember, I could install other time Flash CS4, but I can do that for any component, better know the solution.
For example, I have an as file who is the class named p.e. MyMainclass, and in the scene3, I put FLVPlayback, who default values it's the last I used (I don't remember default after installation), if any code in as3, it gives me this error:
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.

I remove this component, I put another one I never used, it doesn't give me error, I change any property in the object inspector, p.e. color, it gives me error, I change to original property again, and then No Error.
I was wondering if any of you can spot the error in my code? I got a bunch of objects called 'jelly' that are gonna bounce around my screen but the problem I got is they don't bounce at all! they just run straight off. And yeah I'm very new to actionscript, can anyone see what I'm doing wrong here?

I created a movie that is 39px in height and does not play. It seems as though any movie that is under 40 pixels in height does not play. I have tested this on miultiple computers with CS5 on them.
