I created a movie that is 39px in height and does not play. It seems as though any movie that is under 40 pixels in height does not play. I have tested this on miultiple computers with CS5 on them.
View 7 RepliesI am trying to build my portfolio which is coming along fine.
I do however have a problem.. I want the site (SWF) to scale according to browser size.But, I want to implement a maximum and minimum width and height.
I dont want it to scale so that it is bigger than my stage size (1365px x 845px), and I dont want it to scale so that it can be smaller than for instance (800px x 600x). And I also want the SWF to be centered at all times.

You'll notice that the pictures will shrink, but won't scale above their obvious 100% size. I tried looking at the page source, but I didnt understand much. Looks like they have used Actionscript for the resizing/aligning.
I understand liquid layouts and I've built many liquid layout projects, but how do I set a minimum height to lock to, that will use scrollbars.I know I can set a minimum height by putting an if statement in the resize function, but how do I apply scrollbars when the website is that size i.e. under 600?

View 2 RepliesI have a really basic question using the pen tool in Flash. Is there a minimum amount of segments (or something that I'm not doing) that need to be drawn in order to close a polygon shape created with the pen tool. I've found in many instances I seem to be closing the polygon and yet when I go to fill the object it won't fill. I then discover that the beginning and end points are not "joined" together (as in Illustrator).
View 4 RepliesI need to export an animation from flash as a PNG sequence. I'd like the exported PNGs to be as small as possible so I'm checking off minimum image area instead of full doc size. But this had no effect it still uses the full doc size. I can export a single image and it works then. I deleted anything that could be altering the size. I even tried it with a simple scene with just a box and it still uses the doc size. I can scale down the doc, but that is very time consuming and won't allow for easy iteration so that's not an option. Is this a bug, does it just not work?

I know this. However a client wants it so we have to do it, simple as that.Does anyone have any ideas on how this can be achieved? I've been in touch with the creators of the flash video player I'm currently using and they've confirmed it isn't possible with that flash video player.
View 1 RepliesI play games on Pogo and have never had a problem with their Flash Games until released Daily Hot Shots. It doesn't load fully and I've done EVERYTHING I know to do to get it to play. No errors show up. I can play ALL the other flash games but this one. When I right click, the name of the site's owners do not show up....I have the settings showing though Not all of the game loads and that's the problem. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling....tried a different browser and have the same exact problem. THIS GAME WILL NOT PLAY.

I have a completed Flash, but I need to change the stage height. Is there anyway to do this with out have to touch every cell. I have a ball that moves across the the stage, and I don't want to redo the whole thing. I've tried selecting all and moving the items, but it doesn't work.

All graphics in this animation area greater than the stage, so I could extend the stage size to 1200 x 450 px.
So, my miz size for the movie is 1200x330 px and max size is 1200x450 px.
Is there a way to show the movie at minimum size or maximum size based on the browser window heigt?
note that the movie is put iside a table in my html file.

If you resize the browser window the flash movie (and only the flash movie) will be shown in different ways. If the browser window is higher enough the whole flash movie is shown. If the browser window is not higher enough, the top and the bottom of the movie will be cut. Of course there is a trick that cuts the movie only to a specified minimum size.

Let's call it FunGraphics_Art, it's set to export, and it extends MovieClip.When I edit the symbol in Flash and I hit control-A, the properties panel tells me that all of the content has a height of 72 pixels, positioned at 0,0.The content consists of a few (classic) textfields, and a couple of Checkbox components and a few bits of vector art.All the content is on a single frame, no layers.So far, so good. I export my art as a .svc and am able to use it all in code just fine. However I then add the following bit of code to my .as file..[code]Somehow, there's something strange going on that's causing Flash to think my exported symbol is about 75 pixels higher than it actually is. I've looked around for invisible "blank" textfields, but haven't found anything yet.
View 2 RepliesI've created a dynamic text field, and set autoSize to true, so it can grow was tall as necessary. I then want to use the _height value to size a container graphic (speech bubble). Here's the (simplified) code:

Returns 19.6 followed immediately by 35.2. It's as though reading txt._height causes it to recalculate, so it's correct the second time. I also tried the textHeight property, which also seems to get recalculated after _height is accessed. This sequence, for example:

When I publish my FLV video using Flash CS3 and the "SkinUnderAll" option...the player controls are not visible unless I change the height & width in the html file Flash created.But, Flash shows the height & width 3-times in the html.
Question-1: Why 3-times? What does each of the 3 Height & Width references do?
Question-2: How should I modify the code to be able to see the entire video and the player controls?
It seems if I change all 3 everything just gets bigger and bigger.
1 - I import it into Flash CS3 on a PC w/XP Pro using... File | Import | Video take all the defaults and choose "Skin Under All" as the player option.
2 - In "Properties" panel at bottom of screen Flash shows the video as 640x480
3 - I then click File | Publish to publish the video. Flash creates all my files for me.

4 - I then put the folder with the files on my website.
5 - The video plays but the player controls are not visible.

7 - I try changing the 550x400 to 640x480 in all three places... no good. Even at 1000x1000 the entire player is not visible. Everything just gets larger.
What are each of the 3 references to Height and Width in the html file Flash Creates and which should I change to simply show all the player controls?
I am trying to reference to top level (stage) width and height of the main stage for the placement of something located inside a movieclip on the stage.

I have a swf file that I need to convert to my PSP. I have looked on the internet and found many programs but they are all trial and you must purchase to fully complete the conversion.I only need this for a one-time presentation, thus I do not desire to go out and buy a program.
View 1 RepliesSo i've made my .swf files. The only thing is they all play at full screen when i play them using my web browser. I need them to play at 548 x 408. when i open the .fla and go to properties it says the size IS at 548 x 410 but it can't be if its playing full screen.

I have installed removed and reinstalled the latest Flash. I have even physically removed the Quicktime plugin (from the library/internet plugins) and the Quicktime application (from applications).
View 1 RepliesI bought a Flash Portfolio program from Flash Components and followed the tutorial for setup and when I click index.html within my flashport folder, from my local PC it works perfectly. Now when I upload it to my website and try and run [URL], or [URL] a small portion of it loads (just my name and a blank screen really) and stops. So it works when I run the it from my local machine, but doesn't work from my website. Can anyone provide and thoughts or comments?

I am able to successfully use the "Live View" function within CS4. I am also able to successfully preview within IE and Firefox. I've put all files in the appropriate location on the remote server. All files are in my /wwwroot/, except the two files that are in the Script folder, which is in my root. My domain host claims flv files are supported, and Adobe technical support eperiences the same behavior as I, they can play locally, but not remotely. Adobe technical support claims the cause of the problem is the remote server.
I have a series of videos in the project I am working on and I do not want them to auto play once loaded, I want the user to click the play button to start, how do I do this? I am using AS2 on CS3, the video is on progressive download from the server, I tried a couple behaviors, but none did what I was going for.
View 7 RepliesI have a 3,5 MB .swf file on my webpage it works perfectly well in firefox. But in internet explorer it doesnt seem to play. My guess is that IE uploads the whole .swf file before playing it. Can anyone here tell me how to let it work in IE as well?

View 1 RepliesI published a Flash movie in CS4, which includes the following ActionScript 3.0 code to allow people to click the movie to open a new web page; but it will not play from the web server...however, it plays just fine from my local hard drive in Firefox and IE 7.It is an html file with an embedded .swf and I made sure to copy over the swfObject.js, AC_ActvieX.js, AC_RunActiveContent.js, expressInstall.swf, and swfobject_modified.js files to the correct directories. The address is: [URL] and as you will see, there are no errors...just a blank page. I even tried changing the script from:

I am trying to embedded a SWF file into dreamweaver. It plays fine in dreamweaver and when you preview it in Firefox or Safari, But when I upload my HTML files and SWF files it does not play and displays the following message "content on this page requires a newer version of Adobe Flash Player".
