Flash :: Player In Windows 7 - No Streaming MP3s?

Just installed Windows 7 RC (7100), and got the latest Flash player for IE8 and Opera. My site [URL] has a music player I created that plays (streams) MP3s from a Flash Comm Server I run. The player works fine with Flash Player version 10.0.22.87 on other platforms, but not in Windows 7. Once you pick a song, it should start immediately. Even clicking the play button doesn't work. The symptoms make me think there's a problem establishing the netconnection for streaming. Wondering if anyone else has Windows 7 specific problems with Flash player?

I've read Microsoft added streaming of some kind in Windows Media Player for Windows 7, could it be interfering?

I'm building a Flash mp3 player to handle streaming mp3s served by Amazon CloudFront (which uses Flash Media Server). I'm using an FLVPlayback 2.5 component to do most of the heavy lifting (I tried an all AS3 method, but any stream automatically stopped within 5 - 10 seconds of playing). When I trace out the FLVPlayback's totalTime property, I get NaN. This is causing the seek bar to simply not work. This only seems to affect mp3s, as when I load an FLV I get a real value for totalTime. Does anyone know why this is happening

I'm working with some other developers at my office on a multimedia player interface that displays ads and MP3s/FLVs from a user-controlled database of content.Turns out, in our v2 iteration that uses Flash 8 and the related video player, MP3s don't jive. Is that right? We're just now migrating to Flash 8 development, particularly for video, and we were suprised to see the functionality we had for MP3s with the MediaPlayback component go away. Is there a better way to integrate the Flash 8 video player with audio than what we did before?

I was testing out different load times and encoding properties for my mp3 files to be played through Flash and came upon something weird. The files I encoded with a Resampling rate of 32000hz when played through my xml MP3 player are sped up enormously; it was as if I changed the tempo to something it shouldn't be. I have a position / duration field and the duration of a 30 second song shows up as 21 seconds and the music played reflects that time change in terms of how fast the song is played.

I have a mp4 file which is to be used in an application. Currently i am in the stage of figuring out the technology to be used for this job. I am familiar with flex and am hoping that i be able to use it for the application. But i can not figure out a way to play the file in flex. I have been able to play the file only in windows media player and that required the installation of three codecs : Mp4Audio.ax, Mp4Video.ax, Mp4Src.ax.
As i see it, it will be very convenient if i could embed a windows media player plugin in flex or i could specify the audio and video codecs in the flash player

I am trying to do: [URL]. This is a little webpage I'm building as I learn more and more flash. I am at a point where I need to link .mp3 files to the buttons on the "Dan's Top Songs Playlist". If you like, you can download my flash file here: [URL]. I am working with ActionScript 3.0. The buttons in the Media Player are all instances of the same button. How do I tie each button to a different .mp3 song to play when clicked (and stop when another song is clicked or the pause button is clicked)? Because of the size of song files, I'd like to stream it. Also, is there any way to use the "repeat" symbol to just play all the songs in order and the "shuffle" symbol to play them in random order?

I have just created a Flex 3 project. I understand from the flex-config file that the mininum requirement for Flex Builder 3 is Flash 9 or above. I have Flash player 10 on my machine but when I launch my application in firefox. it gives the following error:
C:Programs Files (x86)Mozilla FirefoxpluginsNPSWF32.dll
Flex Builder cannot locate the required version of Flash Player. You might need to install Flash Player 9 or reinstall Flex Builder. Do you want to try to run your application with the current version?

For ages we have used the Flash Object in a .NET app for managing the development of eLearning. The embedding is done (I presume) in much the same way that IE embeds flash object (e.g. using a COM object which maps back to Flash10c.ocx)We are testing our application on Windows 7 RC 64-bit edition but the .NET application is unable to instantiate the Flash control, raising a "Class not Registered" error. Although the OS is 64-bit, the .NET app and Flash object are 32-bit and should work together without problems. I have confirmed that the IE browser (32-bit version) on the Windows 7 (x64) does indeed instantiate Flash files OK.

I have received a CD Rom with an .exe file on it. I only have an old Windows XP box (from 2001) but it doesn't play on it Is that possible? Do I need to find a vista box?houldn't these flash exe files be XP compatible? I have a ActiveX control hosting a flash-player which is in turn running a flash file trying to access data from a web-address.
In an old Windows Application version of my application everything works fine and the flash file is able to access the web-content.
However, in a newer Console Appliction version of the application it can no longer access the web-content.
Is there some kind of difference between a Windows Application and a Console application in terms of security/permissions that might affect an ActiveX hosted flash-player?

I have problems with flash games and some advanced flash applications.Problems occurs regardless of browser.My computer is next:CPU: 2.8GHz hyper threadRAM: 1.5 GB (3 pieces)GPU: Nvidia 7600 GS Gigabyte.When it runs some flash game e.g. Facebook Pet Society, CPU load goes high as 80 to 100 %. I have been trying to experiment with Flash's support for multilanguage documents. However, whatever locale I set in Regional and Language Options on Windows XP the swf file always assumes an "en" locale. I simplified the document down to:import flash.system.Capabilities;trace(flash.system.Capabilities.language);And this also always gives "en".I read somewhere (not in Adobe's documentation!) that Capabilities.language gives the language of the Flash player. Is this correct? If so, is there anyway of retrieving the locale that is set in Regional and Language Options?

I'm struggling with a flash file that I want to play two different sound files when the appropriate buttons are pressed.I've gotten it to the point where it will load without any errors popping up, but instead of playing the second sound when I press the button for that sound, it plays the first sound again. Here's the code:

It's streaming RTMP, and I'm trying to get my video to seek correctly if the user clicks on the groove bar (gray bar under the green progress bar) Currently it does not seek and gives me a NaN on my duration variable and an error on my progress bar width variable, which is puzzling me.
For some reason my videoDuration variable is coming up as NaN when used inside of my seeker function, also I'm getting a null object reference error when trying to trace out playerCntrls.progressTotalW which is the total width of the groove bar[code]...

Has anybody had Flash player debuuger suddenly stop working for no reason whatsoever. What I've found so far: - No exception screens popping up.. in ANY browser. Reinstalled debugger version of flash player, no go. - Flashbug not showing in Firebug - No trace calls visible in FlashDevelop - Flash IDE behaves normal.. all trace calls visible - Firefox updated about the same time but problem seems to be on a wider scale This started approximately, on Sunday 8th Januray (or saturday).

I am trying to create a menu, similar to a dock menu but that just magnifies the images when rolled over (rather than overly crazy carosels or massively zooming docks. and secondly...the dock menu would link to separate flvs that are on a streaming server. I've never worked with one before and wonder how to connect them to my flash. I'm trying to create an flv player, sorry, shouldve said earlier... but one that only plays 6 vids (linked to by the magnifying dock menu).

I'm looking for a Flash video player that is able to stream m4v files on all browsers. Example file: [URL]
Unfortunately, I can't convert the format since it originates from 3rd party servers. I can't rely on HTML5 video since not all browsers support this format and the encoding it contains.
I've already tried several players such as JW Player, Kaltura, Video JS, Projekktor, and more. Testing them with Firefox and IE, some of them couldn't play the m4v file at all, while others downloaded the entire file before starting to play it.

I have an activex display that is custom-built and displays video from an IP camera. However it doesnt show on all browsers. I was then adviced to use flash/actionscript to stream a jpeg that the camera drops on a remote server with ip address (just example) 80.247.23.12/container/live.jpg.
However the file name is constant. how can i use flash to stream this live jpeg and make it appear like a streaming movie. I don't know how to go about this at all.

After I updated Adobe flash player I noticed that videos I streamed did not play correctly.A video will begin to play but part way through it will freeze. It will indicate that it is buffering but it never finishes buffering and never continues to play, even if I refresh it.This occurs for several sites such as youtube, megavideo, and wisevid. This occurs for every browser I have tried (Firefox, IE, and Opera.) I also realized today that now iTunes cannot not download video either. When I try it says that parts of the files seem to be corrupted. I have uninstalled and reinstalled flash several times but that has not helped. I am using Adobe 10.1 (under version test it says it is WIN 10,1,53,64) and I have Windows 7
