The admin guide for flash 8/9 suggests there's a .msm (merge module) for windows? I'm not seeing a merge module for flash 10. Does such a thing exist and if so where?

View 2 RepliesI have a mp4 file which is to be used in an application. Currently i am in the stage of figuring out the technology to be used for this job. I am familiar with flex and am hoping that i be able to use it for the application. But i can not figure out a way to play the file in flex. I have been able to play the file only in windows media player and that required the installation of three codecs : Mp4Audio.ax, Mp4Video.ax, Mp4Src.ax.
As i see it, it will be very convenient if i could embed a windows media player plugin in flex or i could specify the audio and video codecs in the flash player
"The specified module could not be found C:/Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Adobe Version Cue CS4/Client/4.0.0/VersionCue.DLL" is the message that comes up everytime I have Adobe Flash CS4 installed and right click near any file, just not in open programs. After right clicking and having this annoying message pop up, it restarts Windows Explorer. Whenever I uninstall the program everything's fine, however I want to use this product (free trial) but none of my downloads and installations of it (at least 5) have worked! I check for a VersionCue.DLL and I can't find it, also when I choose things like Action Scriptt 3.0 and 2.0 or any other selection at the start up menu, it freezes and quits!

I am trying to host a flash object inside an CAxWindow, I have managed to insert a shockwaveflash (SWF) and its working fine. I am trying to find all available API's that are available in the flash ocx. I am unable to find any documentation for the functions in the IShockwaveFlash interface.I know that Adobe doesn't have a documentation for using flash in VC++ but I was wondering if anyone can point me to a place where I can find an UNOFFICIAL documentation for flash.ocx or code samples as the only API that I could find and I'm currently using is "PutMovie".
View 2 RepliesI've tried downloading the newest Adobe Flash Player 10 on IE8 on my Windows Vista and it's not working.It downloads but when I go back to hulu.com it says I still have to download the latest version. I've tried unistalling and installing it (several times)... I've made sure that Shockwave is enabled under Internet settings... I've also tried unistalling IE8 and reinstalling without the updates... and still nothing.I even tried installing Flash 10 on IE7, still nothing worked.

I have just created a Flex 3 project. I understand from the flex-config file that the mininum requirement for Flex Builder 3 is Flash 9 or above. I have Flash player 10 on my machine but when I launch my application in firefox. it gives the following error:

Flex Builder cannot locate the required version of Flash Player. You might need to install Flash Player 9 or reinstall Flex Builder. Do you want to try to run your application with the current version?

The player works fine with Flash Player version 10.0.22.87 on other platforms, but not in Windows 7. Once you pick a song, it should start immediately. Even clicking the play button doesn't work. The symptoms make me think there's a problem establishing the netconnection for streaming. Wondering if anyone else has Windows 7 specific problems with Flash player?

The embedding is done (I presume) in much the same way that IE embeds flash object (e.g. using a COM object which maps back to Flash10c.ocx)We are testing our application on Windows 7 RC 64-bit edition but the .NET application is unable to instantiate the Flash control, raising a "Class not Registered" error. Although the OS is 64-bit, the .NET app and Flash object are 32-bit and should work together without problems. I have confirmed that the IE browser (32-bit version) on the Windows 7 (x64) does indeed instantiate Flash files OK.

I have a ActiveX control hosting a flash-player which is in turn running a flash file trying to access data from a web-address.
In an old Windows Application version of my application everything works fine and the flash file is able to access the web-content.
However, in a newer Console Appliction version of the application it can no longer access the web-content.
Is there some kind of difference between a Windows Application and a Console application in terms of security/permissions that might affect an ActiveX hosted flash-player?

However, whatever locale I set in Regional and Language Options on Windows XP the swf file always assumes an "en" locale. But when I am dispatching event from Module1, I am able to listen that event in that Module1 but I am trying to listen that event in another Module2. I am not able to listen that event in that Module2 through Parsley.

I am building a photography web site with flash and I found a really cool slide show extension plug in (www.slideshowpro.com) were can easily upload and update my portfolio slide shows.when I publish out to HTML, I test it in a browser and I get this warning when I click on the photography page.I read in adoby help and it said flash developers can allow communication between sites with this AS code Security. allowInsecure Domain ("nathan44. slideshowpro.com");so I added this code to my actions layer on the firs frame in "scene 1" and to the actions layer in the photography section. But nothing changed i still get this warning when ever I publish out to an HTML, when I just preview with control + enter i can view the sideshows fine.
