Professional :: Get Adobe Flash 10 To Work On IE8 On Windows Vista?
Jan 31, 2011
I've tried downloading the newest Adobe Flash Player 10 on IE8 on my Windows Vista and it's not working. It downloads but when I go back to hulu.com it says I still have to download the latest version. I've tried unistalling and installing it (several times)... I've made sure that Shockwave is enabled under Internet settings... I've also tried unistalling IE8 and reinstalling without the updates... and still nothing.I even tried installing Flash 10 on IE7, still nothing worked.
I have Windows Vista 32 bit and not terribly computer savvy.Hulu works fine when I use Firefox, but it's not working on IE8. I need it to work on IE8 in order to stream video from hulu on our Wii through PlayOn TV.
Hello Every Body. I have a problem launching flash cs5 and cs5.5 on windows vista home premium edition. When i launch it, the register screen appears(the one that tells the trial time left) but the flash main window always stays black (or white)and is not responding. I had it working about one week ago and i can't figure out what is the problem .It tried reinstalling couple of times without succes. I also tried deleting the left flash cs5 program files after uninstall but it didn't work . I would need your advice. Here is the screen as it appears:
I am currently having a problem when launching the trial version of flash cs5.5 . The screen that says the timeleft at my trial comes up but the flash cs5.5 screen stays black and is "not responding". About two weeks ago, it worked, so i don't know what is happening. All my other programs work. I tried to reinstall it, to delete the left flash cs5.5 program files after the uninstall and many other things, but it dosen't work. Here is a screen capture of the flash cs5.5 blackscreen. notice that in the frame of the window it tells" not responding".
Hi, I have done pdf creating program for my client and uploaded it to server that works on PHP5 and MySQL. In Vista it works perfectly but on MAC it writes: Couldnt open the file. It may be corrupt or a file format that Preview doesnt recognize." But if I save the same file on Vista and send to my Client on MAC, my client can see it normally. so its some kind of downloading/creating .pdf on MAC issue. I know that there are separate files for MAC but how can I compile them on Vista and will it work both on Vista and MAC.
Does anyone know where flash stores shared objects in windows vista? I've been looking all over for them and I can't seem to find where it stores them.
I have Windows 7 64-bit running on a Dell Studio 1558 with Internet Explorer 9 32-bit. Adobe FlashPlayer 10.3.181.14 is installed. All was fine (i.e., videos played well; e-cards displayed well) up until a few days ago. Now, videos won't play (the screen remains black) and e-greeting cards won't open. I have re-installed FlashPlayer several times. Shockwave Flash Object is enabled.
From an Adobe Air application, I need a function to launch the Windows Virtual Keyboard (c:windowssystem32osk.exe). I tried the Native Process, but it didn't work when telling it to execute cmd.exe /C osk.exe. How should I launch the keyboard application from an Adobe Air application?
Please can someone help thsi old guy who needs to get flash working on his computer.I have Vista 64 bit and run Firefox as my browser.Should I uninstall Flash and try an older version - but which one?
Several months ago I created numerous flash files that use a wingdings checkmark. Recently I had to update these files, and now every single one of them displays as the Arial equivalent (umlauted u). It shows as the umlaut in FLA and in SWF. Selecting the unlauted u, looking at properties confirms the font is set to wingdings. Copying a wingdings checkmark out of another app and pasting into Flash, it immediately overwrites to the umlaut. In fact, changing it to any font just makes it a slightly different umlaut.
The easy question is, "What changed between when it worked, and when it doesn't?" and the answer is I'm not sure. It's the same Flash installation, same machine, same OS, etc. I've tested this with co-workers. Those who open the exact same file on XP machines see the checkmark. Those who open the exact same file on other Vista machines see the umlaut. I have an XP machine to my left, and a Vista machine to my right, and I'm seeing both a checkmark and an umlaut off the same FLA.
Anyone know of a skinnable audio player (or something similar to Windows Vista audio control in task bar) that i can embed in my website?
A player that can be customized to use a 'speaker' icon instead of a 'play' icon. When the speaker is clicked, the volume can be adjusted or turned off. The option of being able to autoplay and set the default volume level.
I installed Flash CS5 as a Trial and when I tried to launch it the error message appears on the screen:
Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error This application has requested Runtime to terminated it in a unusual way. Please contact the applications support team for more information.
I already tried to re-install Vista again and even tried to install flash in XP with the same unsucess result.
"The specified module could not be found C:/Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Adobe Version Cue CS4/Client/4.0.0/VersionCue.DLL" is the message that comes up everytime I have Adobe Flash CS4 installed and right click near any file, just not in open programs. After right clicking and having this annoying message pop up, it restarts Windows Explorer. Whenever I uninstall the program everything's fine, however I want to use this product (free trial) but none of my downloads and installations of it (at least 5) have worked! I check for a VersionCue.DLL and I can't find it, also when I choose things like Action Scriptt 3.0 and 2.0 or any other selection at the start up menu, it freezes and quits!
I am trying to host a flash object inside an CAxWindow, I have managed to insert a shockwaveflash (SWF) and its working fine. I am trying to find all available API's that are available in the flash ocx. I am unable to find any documentation for the functions in the IShockwaveFlash interface.I know that Adobe doesn't have a documentation for using flash in VC++ but I was wondering if anyone can point me to a place where I can find an UNOFFICIAL documentation for flash.ocx or code samples as the only API that I could find and I'm currently using is "PutMovie".
The admin guide for flash 8/9 suggests there's a .msm (merge module) for windows? I'm not seeing a merge module for flash 10. Does such a thing exist and if so where?
In my Event Viewer logs on my Vista 64bit Home Premium machine - trying to install Flash CS4.Spent a few hours on the phone with adobe tech support, doing the normal things in kb408730 Running the CS4 clean script, turning off virus software, resetting the permissions for Config.Msi directory, creating a new user account with admin privs and installing there.Just wanted to see if anyone had come up with a sure fire way to get around the problem of the Adobe installer not having permission to write to Config.Msi
In my machine I have installed only Adobe Flash CS5 proffesional trial version. Now this installation is not supporting adobe.utils.Extension class in this version. I have tried with all latest updates from adobe site. My doubt is does adobe.utils.Extension class is available in licensed version of Adobe Flash CS5 proffesional?
Is it possible to capture user typed inputs from keyboard and overwrite user entered text with pre-defined words in Flex/Adobe Air? I'm looking for a functionality in Adobe Air something like "typinator" does.
Is it possible for Adobe AIR (via AS3) to write events to the OS's event log? In particular, I need an event to show up in the the Windows 7 Event Viewer. I've tried using throw to throw a custom error, but it doesn't appear in the Application Logs.I know I could create a NativeProcess to do this, but I'm hoping there's a native AIR solution.
I want to know How does Adobe Stratus work? to get an idea of how to do something like it on my own. So what net hack Stratus uses to work like it works?
I have some movie clip with two different childs on it: "instruction" and "back_anim". They have the same structure, except one thing: "instruction" have classic tween, "back_anim" have "shape tween". I'm running it on Adobe Air 2.6 for Android. On each of this childs are two labels: "show", "hide". All stop frames present. And I have such a code to controll them:
protected function fadeOut(event:Event):void { line_mc.removeEventListener(Event.COMPLETE,fadeOut); if (line_mc.hasOwnProperty('back_mask_anim')){ line_final_anim_count++; [Code] .....
But!!! "instruction" - plays well, "back_anim" - enters to endless cycle on stop frame. When I do : (line_mc['back_mask_anim'] as MovieClip).gotoAndPlay(7); Next frame after stop frame - all ok.
I would like to know, if there is any way to enable the following (at least in windows):
right-click on any file in local filesystem, choose sendTo and send the file to an adobe air application (for upload purpose for example). AIR can handle that via INVOKE Event, but how can I achieve this from the windows side - how can an AIR application register itself as a sendTo Option?
When I work on my Air Project, I used stop(); to stay in a frame(which is my menu), I built the .air for testing purposes and the frames keep looping, as in, it plays all the frames, and it won't stop as it's instructed to. I'm building my Application in Flash CS5, not Flex.
If I declare a window this way, and then call this.open(false);, the window will quickly open and then hide, and then be reshown when I actually display it, I want to do this to be able to load content and fit the window to that size before showing it.
