May 22, 2011I have two applications: a client in flex and a server in Java. When I deploying the application inside flex builder with the tomcat server inside as well, everything works fine. But now I'm trying to deploy in apache tomcat outside the flex/eclipse builder and I have a problem.I think the problem is with relative/absolute paths but I do not know how to resolve it.In my Java application I have to access a database and a get a file from it. I use a properties to set a path where I want to download that files like this:pacs.ruta=C:\resources\And then I need to access to that file so in use this code:fin = new FileInputStream(pacsRuta+""+f.getName());where f.getName() gives me the name of the file so I get the path of the file with the path I set in pacs.ruta and the files name.
I do not know why it does not work. I tried to put pacs.ruta=/resources/to associate with a folder in my application but It does not work.Could someone give me an advice? Do you think it is the problem? Because the whole application works fine deploying in a tomcat server outside the flex/eclipse builder but when this code is called the application does not work.

May 17, 2010I am using Flash builder 4 (SDK3.5) to create my flex program.I want to deploy this program and load it to a tomcat server.I configure my "flex server" root folder and other parameters in the project properties.The problem is, that i don't know how to make it generic. e.g. my friend's tomcat is installed in other directory on the computer. I know that in eclipse i can run the server and tomcat from the IDE. I can't see how i do it in Flash builder plugin for eclipse 4.

Jul 31, 2010I have downloaded Eclipse - Helios and it is working perfectly. I am having a little trouble understanding the Flex functionality with Eclipse. Is it possible to download a Flex plugin or whatever it is called free of charge to develop and compile mxml and actionscipt files without having to purchase FlexBuilder 3 or 4 at a price of $600. I am under the impression that Eclipse is a free download and and Flexsdk is a free download. Can't they be put together into one tool? I cant afford the $600.

Flex :: Debugging Dictionary In Eclipse Builder Plugin?
Jul 16, 2010I've noticed that when debugging using the eclipse flash builder plugin, one cannot drill in to the key set / values of a flash.utils.Dictionary in the Variables view. Even after selecting the "Show Logical Structure" button. Does anyone else run into this issue? Is there anyway I could see the see all of the keys / values when debugging (apart from writing a loop to do this or manually testing possible keys in the Expressions view)?

Aug 31, 2010where does Flex builder 3 plugin output error messages? I'm trying to import wsdl however i keep getting an "unable to load wsdl" message.
Ive tried creating a trusted certificate in the jdk cacerts file however no success and could do with seeing what is actually the problem. I have looked under the Program Files/Adobe/Flex Builder 3 plugin/ folder but cant find anything which has been updated in the time frame ive been seeing the exceptions.

Oct 5, 2011i've installed the Perforce Eclipse plugin successfully in Flash Builder 4.5.however, the only problem i've run into is that whenever i open a ActionScript file (either one that is or isn't checked out) there is no syntax coloring - it's simply a white background with black text.
i've changed themes so that i have a dark background with different colored syntax but Perforce also removes that coloring, although this time it's the dark background with all white text.

When running the SWF file on the PC the application runs perfectly, I have also tested this in adobe Device Central and it works as expected. When I install this application to my android device, a HTC Desire HD, I get a screen with 5 dots, seems like a loading screen.I created the application using the following command

Java :: Write Log Files In Webapps/application Directory On Tomcat?
Nov 29, 2010I write a flex + java application using the blazeds framework. when i write log files in my java classes the default path is the java path on the server. I want it to be my application at the tomcat/webapps/application directory when i write it hard-coded it failed (maybe bacause of permissions) but, i want it to be general (not hard-coded) so, what do i need to change in my java code in order to write files in my webapps directory? maybe it just an xml configuration?
