How To Get Amazing Animated Purple Line Effect

I am using FLASH CS3 and need to find a way to make an animated line using FLASH CS3 like the example I found here, (it is the purple line effect in the area of the top near the camera lens): [URL]. It is the purple line. As you will see the creator has a purple line doing several movements. I only need to know how it is done. Like this example mine will have an image as a background. Therefore using a large square as a mask will not work, similar to the example. How I can achieve this effect?

so maybe this animation is not that cool. But line 'draw-on's like this are quite common and I cannot find an easy way to do this in flash. I have tried masks, but (as far as I can tell) the line path is too complex for a mask. I have tried animating it using shape hints, but flash just gets hopeless confused as to how I want the line to animate on. I could export this as an swf out of AfterEffects, but the file size seems way too big for what the animation is. I have begun to realize that maybe this type of animation is often achieved using actionscript.

I want to create a mask from an animated line. I found out pretty quick that you can't use a line to mask, only fills. So, can I convert the line to a fill as it's being drawn? Or do I need to put multiple instances of a shape along my line at intervals?
I keep seeing requests for an animation of writing. I figured it would be easier to have the text in one layer and use the animated line as the mask. It sounded good in theory.
I've attached my test that shows the line being drawn. I was playing around with some different objects to use as masks and that's how I saw that lines can't be used as masks. I wish they could.

I'm trying to animate a line by drawing using tweenmax and lineTo, but flash seems a little confused about the coordinates of things. The lines are also drawn a little shaky. Here's my code:

What I'd like is the ability to draw a line with the drawing tools in Flash, and have that line appear onscreen as if it were being drawn. I don't think there's a way to do that with the animation tools (I'd like to give it a go, but I have no idea, once I've drawn a line and converted it into a symbol, how I could access the anchor points and whatnot of said line to then do some funky stuff with curveTo, or whatever better solution is out there...

How can I Create an animated Bar Chart or Line Chart type of component in flash programmatically, which should depends upon an incoming XML data, the chart should have the basic criteria like, Chart Label, Item Tooltips, background grids (without using any image). there are many flash with obviously too complicated video effects thsat impossible to create in Flash itself even with most advanced actionscript. I purchased couple of samples and it turns out its just sequence of images from the video i guess. So my question what video programs are used to create this and what effects packs are availible for flash or that video programs i rather buy stack than pay per each.

I have been tyring to export an animated banner, in animated.gif format. it's a simple animated text with no gradients. it should go on top of a graphic which has some gradients and is multi-coloured and with effects (the colours are similar to the one/i used in the page) as you can see here the text looks a bit funny.url...

Am I completely hallucinating or what ? That's several years I'm working with Flash, and today, i want to do the simplest animation ever, and it just doesn't work....I want to mask an animated clip with an animated mask (a shape animation), but every time the mask arrives at a keyframe, the clip restarts to the frame 1 !!I added a piece of code to see at which keyframe it is blocked, and at every mask keyframe, the code says 'TypeError: Error #1009: null property..

I really like the text effect Pom used in the footer contest, and would like to use the same grid-type method of creating mc letters but with a different effect. i understand how to change the parameters and shapes of the letters, but can't seem to figure out which piece of code is purely for the explosion effect. basically, i want the letters but with the 'Repel' effect from[URL] here is Pom's AS:

It's a bit of decoration to go behind a logo. When the dMove var is commented out I get the appropriate line of squares fading in and out at random spots along the x = 78 axis, but when introduced nothing appears at all...

I'm trying to work out how to create a simple demo that works as follows: A ball falls from the top of the stage.Player is able to draw a line anywhere on the stage. The ball will bounce/roll along the line such that the player can guide it at will. I don't think the coordinate rotation will be a problem for me but I can't figure out how to transform a line drawn by the player into a hit detectable sprite -- or realkly any way that I can get those line coordinates into my coordinate rotation routine. To keep it simple, I'm just working on the first part of the problem, getting the line to where I can hit test or know its position.Here is my code so far:

It always traces 0,0 instead of my current line coordinates - and even those I don't think would be sufficient.

in Flash CS4 I have static text like: Line1 and line2 It's in 9 point Arial Regular as a device font. If I set the line spacing below 3.9 the second line dissappears from the compiled SWF file. It still shows in the FLA file. The same thing happens at 6pt but NOT at 5pt or less.
