IDE :: How To Accept HTML In ComboBox For Russian Language

We had a good functioning website, but suddenly I had to make a version in Russian. Text loaded in dynamic textfields work very well, but then there's the combobox in flash... Our combobox refuses to show cyrillic characters. Data is all coming from a database. It only now showes the text in the combobox as "&#..." But, when I copy this code into a html-editor as dreamweaver, I see in preview the word in Russian! SO, does anyone know how to set a combobox in flash so that it accepts html?

I have embedded fonts "Frutiger 45 Light" inside my Flash library and hence into swf. This works correctly. Now I am loading texts from an XML file where there could be Russian language of texts. Flash loads it perfectly no problem. BUT when I try to assign text to a field.text property, it does not show me correct texts. It shows only some texts and most of other texts is disappeared. I've been experimenting with MXML- and spark-textarea (and richtexteditor)when I copied some formatted texts like Test tes1 from MS Word 2007 and paste them inside the flash textarea , the formattings are gone (I only receive the plain texts)But when I do the same to the Jwysiwyg (a jquery wysiwyg text editor), the formatting doesn't disppear.Is there a way to make flash textareas receive formatted texts without destroying the formattings?

I am modifying a English language Flash movie to display in Russian. In English everyhing works correctly however not when I use the Russian xml files.
I have then created a complete set of external Russian xml files (utf-8) encoding. However, whilst the Russian body text appears to display correctly any text associated with an xml tag (Eg. Button, Title, heading just doesn't show.
I have searched and searched for a solution but just can't find one. It can be done just don';t know what the fix/error is/

I'm having some trouble understandig this. What i'm doing is using a very basic urlLoader to send text to an ASP. Everything works just as expected using English and Swedish, but if i try and send some Russian (cyrillic) Flash throws an error 2032 on a script working flawless up to this point. Am i missing the obvious here? the first one to admit never worked with russian thext in this fashion before, does it need special encoding or is there something i need to do to make this work?

I've actaully got all of this working.All I need now is to make the comboBox text HTMLtext so that I can use the HTML tags to color the text different colors or bold them.It might be important to mention that I need to change only some of the things listed, not the entire list. So if my list on the comboBox is "item 1", "item 2", "item 3", "item 4", I only want "item 1" in bold and colored red.

I'm using Flash CS3 and want to create a custom ComboBox. I've followed the steps outlined in "Editing component skins in a new document" (http:/[url]...), but every time I get to the step where I drag the ComboBox Assets folder from the HaloTheme.fla library into my library, if I test movie at that point my combobox has become an unclickable white rectangle with no label, button or anything.

I'm trying to set a specific list item in a mx combobox to have a custom item renderer, the problem is that I cannot do this via mxml, it needs to be done via actionscript at a later stage, eg: combobox gets created, combobox gets populated, user does other tasks, combobox needs to set one or more items in the combobox to have icons (via item renderer)..
I can do this via the onChange event, but it only applies the icon when the combobox is opened and there is a slight delay so you can see the icon being added.

I only allow PNG and JPEG files to be uploaded which I defined for all windows computers using the FileFilter via the constructor. The problem is that mac systems (or unix in generell) don't only use the file extension but also read some file type in the header of a file I think.

When first connecting, it pops up asking to accept one of those x.509 certificates and you must accept it with a mouse click in order for the certificate to be saved in firefox. Essentially, I have a function with three parameters, that works fine when I type in the parameter values. The function is tweens(MCname, targX, targY) and it runs properly when I use tweens(btn1, 150, 200) for instance. I need the function to move 6 different movie clips, one at a time, and I am using a variable (Counter) and an if statement to tell the function to run again after one of my tween classes finishes. The code all works, and it will run six times with the same clip if I just type in one of the movie clip's instance names as the MCname parameter.
BUT, if I try to use a variable (BTNname) to serve as the MCname parameter, it will not work, making it so I cannot apply the function to my 6 different movie clips. I put a trace on the MCname parameter, and it returns the correct value (btn1, btn2, btn3, etc) but it is not moving the corresponding movieclips. I've tried a number of different methods, but nothing will work.[code]...

I'm having a weird problem with AS3/CS5: I have a textfield, and I'm playing around with focusing on it at various points. At one point,I set focus to the textfield (which only accepts 1 character), then add an Event.CHANGE listener to it. This works fine, except when I type the letter 'a' (or 'A'). Nothing happens until I click on the text field and type 'a.' I don't have to do the second click with any other character, and before I do the second click, the cursor is blinking in the box. Not sure what to do...

For the record I am running Flash CS4, but am using actionscript 2.0 (its just what I know, and I don't feel like learning 3.0)-So I'm making a contact list, and each of the names will be clickable to bring up more information. There's going to be a lot of names, so I'm trying to keep the actionscript concise. The code is shown below in a simplified form, but essentially I have created a variable for the hexadecimal color, and I have created a function which will change the text color of each of the name buttons. This works, I have tested it. But, I don't want to have to tell the function to run for every single name button
(eg. changeColor (option1 , testColor);
changeColor (option2 , testColor);
changeColor (option3 , testColor);
etc..)
SO - I tried to create a for loop that would run the changeColor function for each button without typing it a million times. The one below should run from "option1" to "option5" for instance. I originally tried entering the equation "option" + i as a parameter, but it did not work. So I tried the code below where the for loop creates a variable which is assigned the value option1, option2, etc. as it runs through the loop. I added the trace code, and it is showing me that MCname is holding the correct value. However, the changeColor function still refuses to insert the MCname variable as a parameter. The testColor parameter is a variable, and that will work, so why not the MCname one? I also tried replacing the MCname variable with the name of a button (option1) and it runs fine. I just don't want to type in every single option name for the entire list.Sorry for rambling, but I'm trying to fully explain the situation.. If the code is all correct, why won't the changeColor function accept a variable for the first parameter? Is there a way I can get this to work without having to copy and paste the changeColor(option, Color) code for every button (there could be over 100 options)

I'm trying to get into flash game developing (without a programming background) and for my first project, I thought creating a simple game like Text 4 Dead (or Don't **** your pants) to be a good bet.Unfortunately, I don't know how to start it. Anyone has any idea how the developers of the mentioned games did it? Did they just created a bunch of frames on the timeline and every time someone writes the right words on the prompt it takes them to the next frame?And how do you create a prompt itself to accept the commands and guide you around the game?

Is it possible for flash to accept value from a database?There is a database storing values "postions" and "descriptions" (there are 2 coloumns named so to store the values).In flash I want to accept the values entered in these 2 coloumns. How to go about it? If I create 2 dynamic text boxes with variable names "p" and "d" respectively and an "accept" button on the scene, what script should I add to the button so that these text boxes accept the values?

you know any reason why a function won't accept any number higher than 4? This is all I'm doing. Works for 0-4, but once I hit 5 or higher, I get "A term is undefined and has no properties." But if I just put the number 5 in there, it all works just fine, so it's not an issue with the xml.. for some reason the function just won't accept anything higher than 4. weirding me out..... I can't see an explanation for it.

When using the getCamera() method, Flash displays a dialog box requesting permission to access the camera and microphone. Is there anyway to suppress the dialog box and just automatically accept? I just want to display a local feed, I'm not going to be saving any of the video via FMS or anything like that.

I would like it to accept that second rollover only when the first one is finished. I mean, I want the first to be finished before it accepts another rollover.
