ActionScript 2.0 :: Suppress Dialog Box And Just Automatically Accept?

Mar 25, 2007

When using the getCamera() method, Flash displays a dialog box requesting permission to access the camera and microphone. Is there anyway to suppress the dialog box and just automatically accept? I just want to display a local feed, I'm not going to be saving any of the video via FMS or anything like that.

Flex :: Suppress Warnings For One ActionScript File?

Aug 31, 2010

I've got an ActionScript 3 source file (.as) that has hundreds of untyped variables. This file works perfectly although it outputs a warning for every untyped variable which gets me ~800 warnings clogging the Error panel in my IDE.

Although warnings are helpful in my other source files, I want to suppress warnings for this one .as file, because I'm in no mood to specify data types for them all.

I'm using FlashDevelop 3 on Windows 7, and compiling an AS3 AIR project using the Flex 4 SDK.

Flex :: FHow To Suppress Flash Migration Warnings

Mar 31, 2010

In Flash Professional CS4, I get "migration issue" warnings when I use mouse/keyboard input handler names such as onMouseDown, onKeyUp, etc., even though I have added event listeners for them. These names are perfectly legal for functions, but since these were automatically fired in ActionScript 2.0, we are now (albeit sensibly) warned that their use is no longer automatic in AS3.I understand the purpose of the warnings, but they aren't useful for me. I want to suppress these warnings, but without suppressing any other warnings, which I generally do find useful.I found a flex-info.xml style document in the Flash User Data dir.[userdatafolder]/Adobe/Flash CS4/en/Configuration/ActionScript 3.0/FlexInfo.xml.However, this file contains a disappointing comment: <!-- Flash does not support most flex-config options. -->, and doesn't seem to respond to my directives even after restarting flash. Found an issue "Erroneous, annoying "Migration issue" warnings" on Adobe bug tracker. A fix is confirmed for the Flex SDK, but no mention of Flash...

Flash :: Flex - Suppress Only [SWF] Traces When Debugging Applications?

Aug 10, 2010

m working on an Adobe Flex application that loads lots of Flex Modules and other Flash sub-applications and Flash resources. Each time one successfully loads the flashlog.txt and Flex Console show a trace like "[SWF] filename.swf - [filesize] bytes after decompression". Specifically:[SWF] Main.swf - 1,361,299 bytes after decompression [SWF] core/Core.swf - 516,390 bytes after decompression

I don't want to disable traces because I am debugging, but these traces are rather noisy. How can I suppress only the [SWF] loaded traces?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Suppress Error #1009? / Null Object Reference?

Mar 11, 2009

This might be alittle complicated to explain but I'll try to do my best.I have a basic setup of 3x4 isometric boxes that you can drag and sort around on a grid. This works just fine. Each box is a instance of a custom class of mine called Kiste (which consists of several sub-objects).hile sorting I have to use a procedure like this to get the parent Kiste-object of the dropTarget as droptarget will always get me the "lowest" object possible instead of the topmost:

Code:
function whileDrag(e:Event):void{
var dt:DisplayObject = dropper.dropTarget; // Dropper is a empty Sprite that is constantly

ActionScript 2.0 :: Function Won't Accept A Parameter

Jan 28, 2010

Essentially, I have a function with three parameters, that works fine when I type in the parameter values. The function is tweens(MCname, targX, targY) and it runs properly when I use tweens(btn1, 150, 200) for instance. I need the function to move 6 different movie clips, one at a time, and I am using a variable (Counter) and an if statement to tell the function to run again after one of my tween classes finishes. The code all works, and it will run six times with the same clip if I just type in one of the movie clip's instance names as the MCname parameter.

BUT, if I try to use a variable (BTNname) to serve as the MCname parameter, it will not work, making it so I cannot apply the function to my 6 different movie clips. I put a trace on the MCname parameter, and it returns the correct value (btn1, btn2, btn3, etc) but it is not moving the corresponding movieclips. I've tried a number of different methods, but nothing will work.[code]...

ActionScript 3.0 :: Textfield Won't Accept Certain Input

Jun 21, 2010

I'm having a weird problem with AS3/CS5: I have a textfield, and I'm playing around with focusing on it at various points. At one point,I set focus to the textfield (which only accepts 1 character), then add an Event.CHANGE listener to it. This works fine, except when I type the letter 'a' (or 'A'). Nothing happens until I click on the text field and type 'a.' I don't have to do the second click with any other character, and before I do the second click, the cursor is blinking in the box. Not sure what to do...

ActionScript 2.0 :: Function Won't Accept A Variable Parameter?

Oct 22, 2009

For the record I am running Flash CS4, but am using actionscript 2.0 (its just what I know, and I don't feel like learning 3.0)-So I'm making a contact list, and each of the names will be clickable to bring up more information. There's going to be a lot of names, so I'm trying to keep the actionscript concise. The code is shown below in a simplified form, but essentially I have created a variable for the hexadecimal color, and I have created a function which will change the text color of each of the name buttons. This works, I have tested it. But, I don't want to have to tell the function to run for every single name button

(eg. changeColor (option1 , testColor);
changeColor (option2 , testColor);
changeColor (option3 , testColor);
etc..)

SO - I tried to create a for loop that would run the changeColor function for each button without typing it a million times. The one below should run from "option1" to "option5" for instance. I originally tried entering the equation "option" + i as a parameter, but it did not work. So I tried the code below where the for loop creates a variable which is assigned the value option1, option2, etc. as it runs through the loop. I added the trace code, and it is showing me that MCname is holding the correct value. However, the changeColor function still refuses to insert the MCname variable as a parameter. The testColor parameter is a variable, and that will work, so why not the MCname one? I also tried replacing the MCname variable with the name of a button (option1) and it runs fine. I just don't want to type in every single option name for the entire list.Sorry for rambling, but I'm trying to fully explain the situation.. If the code is all correct, why won't the changeColor function accept a variable for the first parameter? Is there a way I can get this to work without having to copy and paste the changeColor(option, Color) code for every button (there could be over 100 options)

CODE:
var testColor:Number = 0x33ff00;
function changeColor(buttonName , myColor:Number){

Did they just created a bunch of frames on the timeline and every time someone writes the right words on the prompt it takes them to the next frame?And how do you create a prompt itself to accept the commands and guide you around the game?

Data Integration :: Flash To Accept Value From A Database?

May 11, 2006

Is it possible for flash to accept value from a database?There is a database storing values "postions" and "descriptions" (there are 2 coloumns named so to store the values).In flash I want to accept the values entered in these 2 coloumns. How to go about it? If I create 2 dynamic text boxes with variable names "p" and "d" respectively and an "accept" button on the scene, what script should I add to the button so that these text boxes accept the values?

so my 2 queries are:

1) how do I send the value from the database to flash?

2) how do I accept the same in flash?

you know any reason why a function won't accept any number higher than 4? This is all I'm doing. Works for 0-4, but once I hit 5 or higher, I get "A term is undefined and has no properties." I can't see an explanation for it.

Actionscript :: NumberFormatter In Flex That Accept Pattern As A Parameter

Jun 28, 2011

I need to write a method doing a formatting of numeric value given a pattern as one of the parameter, in actionscript.

For example:

a. 12345.00 using format pattern ###,###.## resulting 12,345.00
b. 12345.00 using format pattern ##,##,##.## resulting 1,23,45.00

Initially, I thought that NumberFormatter able to do that, but after reading documentation, it seems you are not able to accept pattern.

how to implement this ? I'm using Flex 4.1
