I was wondering if it is possible to blur something that is drawn dynamically? I have a dynamic line that zig zags, but when I attempt to put a blur action on to it, it does not appear blurred. Does anyone have an idea how to get this line to look blurred? (I'm trying to achieve a spray paint effect).
I have a script that's creating 2 empty movie clips and then adding thumb nails into the second one. then finaly drawing a shape and adding a dynamic mask on top
i.e. _level0.emptyClip1.emptyClip2 -->thumb1thumb2thumb3etc..the problem is, I want to add blur when im scrolling to emptyClip1 or even emptyClip2, but alas not luck. The weird things is, as Im trying to figure this out, I found that I could add blur to the thumbs themselves but not to their parent clip. I've been trying to figure this on my own for a week, with no avail.
I am looking for some help on a specific effect. I was pretty good in the old days in flash but I have fallen behind badly and the new action script and such is making my head spin a bit. The effect I am looking to do is like the FETblur, first one on the page, [URL]...
i have a problem with the line space flash creates when a dynamic text is loaded in a dynamic text field on the stage i put a dynamic textFild with istance name "profile_text". then im loadin in it a text. my text is written in the Notepad like this
[Code]...
i already set a Textformat to my dynamic text with i tryied to play with the "Leading".. but i think it something dealing with paragraph. how i can decrease spacing between paragraphs??
I have a dynamic multiline text box txt1(instence Name) which get the data form xml file.
i have other two textboxes instence Name txt2 and txt3 i want that the first line (only first line) show in the txt2 and rest of the contents in txt1 show in the txt3.
I have a Dynamic TextField defined in the Flash Authoring Tool set to be multiline (cause the app can receive data from outside and it can be either 1 line or 1000 lines) but unfortunately the flash player just renders 1 line in the TextField, of a total that would have upwards of 100 lines. I tried the following property: textField.multiline = true; but without success. I use Flash CS4
I have a line drawing that I have to animate it has curved lines like the image attached.I have tried tweening however it looks terrible and not smooth in it drawing.this is the action script I already have so far.
createEmptyMovieClip ("curveLine", 1); with (curveLine) { lineStyle (2,0xffffff, 600);[code].....

I've finally got XML information coming into my text field. Only problem now is that there for every line break in the text, Flash reads it as two line breaks, for example:
XML: Line 1 Line 2
Flash: Line 1
Line 2
I found that you can just use the <br> tag in the original text or if I'm using actionscript to input the text I can use or but what if I'm using text generated by a CMS which my client needs to be able to use?
I have a simple file that loads text dynamically inside a symbol.. How do I put line breaks in? My code is below. If I leave the text as is it skips a line inbetween.
(actionscript in flash file) loadVariables("pacific.txt", "_root.pacific"); txt file
I have a dynamic text box, displaying the text from XML file, which is created dynamically. My issue is that the text is shown in double spacing, instead of single spacing.I've been researching this for hours, and one website discussing this issue as "when a user insert value from windows platform, flash translates line brake as double space." So, when I look at the XML file, there is only one
I am trying to implement an object which is basically a simple line which grows in length over time. Picture it as starting from y= -10 and shooting down to y = 300. I want to be able to send them down at varying angles. I have already implemented and it works but I was wondering if there was a better method than what I use. Basically, I have a MovieClip which is a straight line and when I create an instance of it I give it a random rotation value between 1 & 10 and a random X location of 50-450 and y set to -50. Then I simply use the enterframe event to increase it's ScaleY by 0.01 each time. It works but the lines do look a little blurry.
I am trying to create a dynamic text field that loads data from an XML file. the XML file cannot contain html formatting, and the idea is that each word should be able to be on its own line. like:
Dynamic Data Displays Here.
Now, I've been told that the way they used to do this is that in the XML is formatted where they put all the words on their own lines. like:
<data name ="input">Dynamic Data Displays Here.</data>
when i try this, it seems to be double spacing everything.
I have a text field on the stage with an instance name and is set as a Multiline text field. I'm populating it with data from an XML file. When I test my movie...the text field cuts off the text at the end of the text field and does not wrap to a new line like the Multiline setting.I even added a line of code to say
Who knows how to get this kinda menu: [URL] to only display a certain number of items per line? (I'm referring to flash file down the page a little that says "Choose Thumbnail" on it. The source code for this flash file can be found on page 2 of this tutorial)
As you can see, it currently has 4 thumbnail images, and all 4 of them are displayed on 1 line. But what if I wanted to tell Flash to only put 3 per line (thus 3 on the first line and 1 on the second). This thumbnail image menu is dynamically loading data from XML, so if I wanted to add more images to the XML file, I wouldn't want these extra images added to the same line as they would run off the page! I need them to load under the existing ones..
My dynamic text box won't show the last line of text, no matter how much or how little text I am feeding it. The text box has an instance name, set to render html, set to multiline. My code is getting the text into the box, but it keeps clipping the last line.
I want to create a mask from an animated line. I found out pretty quick that you can't use a line to mask, only fills. So, can I convert the line to a fill as it's being drawn? Or do I need to put multiple instances of a shape along my line at intervals?
I keep seeing requests for an animation of writing. I figured it would be easier to have the text in one layer and use the animated line as the mask. It sounded good in theory.
I've attached my test that shows the line being drawn. I was playing around with some different objects to use as masks and that's how I saw that lines can't be used as masks. I wish they could.
One of my Clients wants a certain type animation on his buttons and he wont budge. here it is. a set of buttons (home - about - products - contact) with a line running parallel to them on top. when you roll over (lets say products) he wants that section of line to bend up and away from mouse. this 'bend' in the line 'unbends' when mouse is completely rolled off the button section but moves along the line if next button is rolled onto. This Isn't all. he says If possible he would like an object (lets say an apple) to move along the down slope of the line bend. however the more i think about this the less it works. so im only worried about the line bend for now. Im still waiting for him to send me an example he saw on another website i will post it as soon as i get.
i just want to convert special characters in from MS Word to simple characters. So you copy and paste what you've written in MS Word into this swf... hit a button and it converts the special characters into plain ones... problem is that when i convert it, all the new lines from MS Word disappear...
so:
Hello there. How are you?
becomes:
Hello there.How are you?
It works if you actually press enter when you're in the static text box, but if you copy and paste it from MS Word it just doesn't work.
I have my Dynamic text box set to Multiline.
So i've thought of 2 options... either there is something else i have to tick or some little bit of coding i can add... or... maybe there is a way using the split and join function that i can add a new line where ever one has been added in MS Word, though i don't know if that would be possible...
it would need to go .split(" ??? ").join(" ")
what would i use to identify the new line from the static text to convert it to the dynamic text?
Supra gave me the code a while ago to create a line between to points. Very good. But is there a way (and I'm sure there is since I've seen the effect) to create a CURB line?
I'm trying to have the user draw a line on the top layer of my scene. I've been able to get my line, but it always shows up behind everything else. Here's the code I'm using: Code: mouseOld = mouseNew; clear(); if (isMouseDown) { mouseNew = true; if (mouseNew != mouseOld){ drawStartx = _xmouse; drawStarty = _ymouse} [Code] ..... The code works fine, but how would I get my line to show up in front of everything else?
in my Flash movie (CS3) I want all text to be selectable. When I select 'static' and 'selectable', I have the following issues: Some of the text does not fit into the available (scrolling required to see the end of text) This is larger than when in Flash.
I have an XML with a node, let's say like this:Code:<ROW text="This is a line which needs to be broken right here /n to go on from the other line"></ROW>How can I break the line exactly where the /n is after I loaded this XML? Or how to change the XML to get this in the easiest way?
