IDE :: Flash - White Spaces At The Top Of The Window?
Oct 19, 2009
when i open up my swf file , there's always white spaces at the top of the window. but when i open up my .fla file, everything is in place. How can i remove that white spaces?
I have a text box that is about 300 pixels wide and can't be any wider. I also have a lot of text, so wordWrap and multiline are set to true. Works great! Only problem is that the text wrapping creates a lot of unused white space in the right margin of the box. This white space takes up a lot of room and looks kind of rough.
Is it possible to have Flash automatically hyphenate the text in the box to avoid the big white spaces along the right edge of the box?
Most of my experience with XML has been with image galleries where I have mostly stored information into attributes, but now I'm making a simple news display with XML. For practice. And the problem is here and I can't seem to solve it. You see, this is my code.
It doesn't actually display (empty line), but there are two empty lines that are selectable before and after the text. This boggles me, since I set ignoreWhite to true. I'd like it to display just Man, I rock, without any empty lines before or after that text. Sure, I could edit my <update> node so that the node and it's chlid text node are in the same line, but I want my XML to be easily readable. And it's strange that everytime I use a line break (with return of course, in notepad) in a text node, Flash displays that as two line breaks. So does anyone know what's with those two lines before and after the text and why does it make two line breaks where there is one in my XML file?

I have an online application that loads a variety of different languages. I have one main interface file that loads the appropriate language that is needed for the end user. These languages are being loaded from a txt file encoded using UTF - 8. Most of the languages are displayed fine in the dynamic text fields that are all embedded in Arial. The issue I have recently run into is with the French and Czech languages. In both languages the white space that follows a number is always removed. For example "20 minutes" would be displayed as "20minutes". Then in the Czech language I am also loosing spaces after certain letters, such as "a" and "v".
I have a flash movie that has a thin white line on the left side which comes and goes as you stretch a window. Does not show up in any other browser. [URL] Same thing occurs in another site [URL] The flash movie is the same width as container div.
In the 4 * 5 array that makes up a colour matrix, what do ALL the values do? All I have found is basically this: 0, 0, 0, 0, 0 <-R 0, 0, 0, 0, 0 <-G 0, 0, 0, 0, 0 <-B 0, 0, 0, 0, 0 <-A What does each thing do?
I'm using the weather.com web service to request current conditions for a location, and am parsing the current temperature, feels like temp and current condition icon to my Flash application. The Current Temperature and Feels Like Temperature nodes are nested within NowItems -> NowItem while WeatherToday is further along in the feed. I've written the following in AS3[code]...
Is it possible to configure Flash Builder 4 to indent using spaces instead of tabs?
I've enabled Preferences > General > Editors > Text Editors > Insert spaces for tabs but it still inserts tabs. I've tried editing files with no tabs but it still inserts tabs.
What's strange is that Insert spaces for tabs works in Eclipse but not Flash Builder, which is built on Eclipse. Perhaps there's a bug in Adobe's portion of Flash Builder.
I'm running Flash Builder 4.0.0.272416 on Mac OS X 10.6.
I am working with a function that converts csv data to a multi-dimentional array. I am then going through the characters to find specific situations in the way the strings are handled in the array. One example is if I have a string like - "this is a string, yeah" - then I make sure not to count the comma in the string because it is between quotes from that string. Anyhow In the following function I have some how lost my spaces in the results.Instead of getting "this is AS3" I am getting "thisisAS3". Spaces seem to only be available in the strings that have quotes.
function CSVtoArray(csv:String):Array { var inQuotes:Boolean = false; var field:String = "";
I'd like to be able to click on each of the buttons and have the background color change and also have its color name loaded in the dynamic text field. E.g. Clicking the white square would change the background color to white and should also display the text ''white'' in the dynamic text box. I've sorted out the colour changing part with the following code:
I was just on the phone with Macromedia Technical support.Im using arabic language in one of my projects. Arabic is a right-to-left language.I'm usng it in the textarea component. Im facing two problems:
1) The words are displayed okay, but I can't align them to make them appear from right to left...
2) At the end of each sentence, the last word is chunked, and the rest is appeared in the next line.
For example, the sentence "Adobe purchased macromedia" is displayed as:
Adobe purchas ed Macromedia
Like that. Obviously, flash cannot detect the words (or rather the spaces between them).
I am really tired of searching a solution to make my site to a fullscreen flash site..What i want to make is a site that fills the screen without extra spaces and all..The funny thing is it is working fine in swf but not in html..When viewed in html there is a big white space to the right..I have tried several solutions for this line making the html "width and height to 100 %" and scale mode to " noscale" It didnt work I tried changing the html code itself like this:-
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html> <head>[code].....
When using SOAP web services in Flash Builder, I am able to use the web services tool and test making service calls without any issue.I can pass strings that contain spaces, double and single quotes with great success. when I write code to send a string containing spaces or quotes, the web service doesn't return a success response. If I remove the quotes and/or spaces, success.I've tried wrapping the string in tags, but I don't know what else to do.
I need to trim away away all the extra spaces that a users types into my input text field. I know that there are a few ways possible, but i'm not sure how to go about doing it.
I am preparing a presentation DVD... DVD will contain wmv video, user manual and another flash exe file... So DVD interface will contain three elements; user manual, a flash exe file and video.. Flash video window will be short-time video, playing like 5-10 seconds then repeats itself... My question is, how could I accomplish to put video window playing certain amount of time then repeats itself, in main window? I need as3 fla example, which could be so useful for me..
I created a Flash application that reads POST data from a form. A user clicks the button, and the data gets posted to the flash app in a new window (_blank). Now takes the data and then spins a wheel to give users a prize. If they don't win a message pops up letting them know they didn't win. If they don't win, clicking the OK button needs to close the browser window.
I've tried a number of solutions and it seems that the only way to get this done is to launch the window with javascript and then use ExternalInterface.call('window.close'); to close the window from within the Flash actionscript (3) because otherwise the window won't close (I've tried just using window.close and window.close() with no luck)
I understand how to launch a new window with javascript, but I don't know how to simultaneously launch and POST data to that window (the Flash application has to have the POST data. Is this the best solution? Is there a way to close a browser window easier than what I'm describing?[URL]
I have an asp page that will open a new asp page in a new window that contains a swf file with a button.hen the user clicks the button i want to close that window and reload the parent window.
This is a combined Dreamweaver/Flash question. I have added to a webpage a flash movie, once I navigate away from that page and then back again I get a white flash when the Flash movie page loads. I have looked through the forum history and tried some various fixes, such as changing the .swf's background color, didn't work, add code in dreamweaver which embeds a darker color, nada.
Why is there a white flash between the two clips when they are in consecutive frames on the timeline? I also get a white flash if I loop a flash movie.
i have an html web site withe flash movie there is white block for a few second before the flash movie is up ow do i get read of it? can i make this white clock to be black or to have a clock the time until the flash movie is up
I'm trying to compress a video into an flv for my flash file. When I compress the video using flash video encoder the video shows up white but I can see the audio. The original version is compressed using H.264. I don't know enough about codecs to know why its not showing video.
Working in Flash CS4. When I publish my flash movie it opens fine on my computer but when I copy the folder with all the contents to another computer the skin show up fine but I get a white box where the movie should be. The same goes if we try to place it on a website.
When I'm in flash should I be going to File Publish or File Export SWF To be placed in a website.
My question is when I publish my flash movie it opens fine on my computer but when I copy the folder with all the contents to another computer the skin show up fine but I get a white box where the movie should be. The same goes if we try to place it on a website.

There is a white space above the flash file. My file is 360 pix high, but I need the default bar at the bottom. So I set it to be 400. But the extra 40 pix got shared by the bar and an unwanted white space on the top.
If I set it to 360, no space, but no bar either. In either case, there is an extra 2 pix double lines on top. I want to remove the space and double lines.
