my picture section includes an MC slide show with "next/previous" buttons.
is there any way:
1- to make this MC calls JPG pictures from a directory.
2- make them autofit inside the mask.

when I try to play my slideshow I click play and it goes so fast you don't see a single pictue then it goes back to the first one?? I don't know how to really fix this? This is all the code it.

I'm trying to put together a sideshow using a modification of load_images.fla (a sample file supplied with Flash) combined the the 'Kirupa Menu with Slider' tutorial ([URL]) The slideshow uses a 'next' & 'previous' button to click thought the images. In addition to this I have a separate slide menu navigation (currently just numbers 1-7), with a rectangle highlighting the number of the image being viewed. I would like to move the rectangle to show which image is being viewed, when the 'next' or 'previous' button is pressed. The follow code shows the actionscript for the 'next' & 'previous' buttons....

I am looking to create a flash based image slide show, but have some restrictions. Can't use XML to store the images, b/c this is going into powerpoint, and the client uses an older version which doesn't support external files. Also, this won't be advanced by a button, click, but will need to be timed between transitions. There is voice-over, music involved so the transitions times may not all be the same. I did a Google search, but every example involved XML and/or button controls.

When the user clicks or rolls back to any of the original 5 buttons, that subnav closes up.Does anyone know of a good tutorial for this type of nav or have anything I might be able to dissect and work from?

View 5 RepliesI am using currentSlide.gotoNextSlide to change between slides, however I can't make it stop playback on load of each slide.I have a motion tween with I need to NOT play automatically when the slide loads... but no matter how many iterations of stop(), gotoAndStop(), etc I use, nothing will stop the clip from playing when it is loaded!

I am just learning AS3 and am reading up on instantiating and object.The code from the Quickstart book makes about 75% sense to me, as it covers syntax in the previous section. However, like every damn intro to code on the planet, it throws in new, unexplained syntax:

Line 1: I get var=myMC is defining a variable.. I don't however understand the colon. What does the colon do and what does MovieClip mean? I'd assume that new MovieClip() is a method.

In my asp.net application,I want to show the .ppt file using the slide show manner.
That's to say,user can upload .ppt file to my server side,then other people can browser these ppts in the page ..
Since I have googled "embed powerpoint in web page" ,it seems that there is not a good idea to implement this and support the cross browser,so I thought the flash.

I am having an issue with getting a header to slide over to a new picture every 10 seconds or so. I have it set up so far that there are three buttons on the left and when you click on one it goes to the corresponding picture.
My question is how can I make it so the pictures slide to the next witout hitting a button on the left. So I need it to slide when a button is hit and to slide when nothing is hit. If anyone could show me where I need to go from here it would be awesome. I have been trying to using intervals but I am what you would consider an amateur so it must be above my head.

this fullscreen slideshow with random pictures which will be the background of a client's web-site. I have everything working, the preloader, the imaging loading and transitions.There's one thing however that's happening and I don't know how to fix it. What's happening - naturally - is that the previous image is still there, in the background, and I would like that to be removed, I would like to have the previous loader, or just the holder movieclip to get off stage, but I really don't know how to add that to my code.What I was thinking was something in the lines of a for loop. Something like creating the picture's holder inside that for loop so each will be like, picHolder1, picHolder2, picHolder3...and so on. And with that, on completion of the preloader I would remove something like "picHolder -

I'm having an issue with the UiLoader, I think. I am using a UiLoader to show the portfolio section of my website. When I click on portfolio there is nothing there. Brought UiLoader to stage from the component panel> in the component inspector I set the source to Portfolio.swf> Test movie> it works great. In dreamweaver I draged the swf from the folder panel and placed it in a table> uploaded it to the site> go to the site, and there is no portfolio section. See the site here -> [URL]. I noticed when I made changes and uploaded to the web then went to the site I have to delete internet history files to get the swf to reload. What do I do about that? Off the top of my head I thought about changing the swf name everytime I make any changes, but I'm sure there is another way.

I need to create a slideshow so that when a user clicks an arrow - an image will slide off the screen and another image will move onto the screen (as if there is a long strip of images that move on and off the screen).
I have the images as a long continuous strip, and they should slide onto the screen with each click of the arrow. Then at the end of the strip of images I would like them to quickly bounce back to the beginning.
Something similar to what I want to do, only done in Flash[url]...
I am building a slide show in Flash 4. I have a series of slides that I want to automatically advance from slide to slide in order after 10 seconds. Is there a slide control in flash for this? Is there an actionscript for this?
View 2 RepliesI wonder if anyone can shed some light on why an xml slide show should speed up each time it is reloaded. I have downloaded an excellent slide show tutorialand being new to As3 I very basically attached and removed the downloaded slide show on and off the stage with a simple button which fired the code:addChild(); to make the slides appear and aremoveChild();to remove them. This worked fine until I quickly realised that each time the slide show was re added it had doubled in speed until after a few re loads it was wizzing through
View 5 RepliesI have a slide presentation that was created in Flash CS3 and I now need to get it into Quicktime format. I have been able to get the export to movie function to work but the resulting video is only the first slide no matter how long I set the "After time elapsed:" setting to in the QuickTime Export Settings dialogue box. This makes sense because the slide show requires the user to press the space bar to proceed to the next slide.

I have built it on a transition extension. i have it working, but all the images are loaded into the library, given a class name to reference them and the rest is done based on the class names.in the as3 code a array has been set up all the class names listed like this:

I have taken it a step further and created a xml file listing the url to the photos i want to load in but this is where i am lost the urls are being read successfully in, so the code can access the urls but im not sure from there how I actually import the images in, or how to assign each a seperate class , does the addchild command assign a class name that i can add to the above array?
I've created a series of images that fade in and out. When i run the movie the transition from the last picture which fades out to the first image is not smooth. it transitions from a faded out image to a 100% opacity image

I have about 5 movie clips (MCs) and I want to play all of them one at a time automatically. How do I accomplish this with as 3.0? I'd like to be able to add/remove MCs from the slide show occassionally and I 'd also like to be able re-arrange the play order of those MC as well . I am learning AS3.0.

Basically, I want to have a seemless, progressbar-less, slide show with pictures that fade in and fade out. This is going to be used for a wedding photography site by the way.
