View 2 RepliesI would like look for an open source image resize and uploader for a web application. Preferably leveraging on W3C speficication and try avoid need client to install any application.
Target uploading images are limited to 1 ~ 3 and resizing in terms of width & height only.
Eclipse has a built in functionality to find unused variables (and methods too I guess). Flash Builder 4 is built on top of Eclipse but it doens't have that functionality. Do you know any plugin to achieve that functionality? Also, if you know any other kind of plugin besides SourceMate to improve Flash Builder let me know.

I'm using Eclipse and I'm wondering what the best Eclipse/Java/Flexbuilder code review tool is. If it matters we're using SVN as our SCM. Here are the following I've come across: Jupiter - seems like it's been around for awhile it looks like there is only a single developer on the project and the documentation mentions rather old versions of Eclipse IBM's Collaborative Code Review plugin for eclipse - seems like its a proprietary code review tool so not sure it will be supported in the future (or have the ability for a community to assist in development). Eclipse COLA real-time shared editing - Not really a code review tool but more a way to view/edit files peer-to-peer style allowing code review like collaboration. I'm currently researching Flex visualization components for demoing purposes and am wondering if anyone in the community has had success building on top of any current open source projects. I'm currently looking at axiis but am wondering if anyone has found anything similar that worked well for building custom visualization components? I have the source folder from a friend's Android app and I am going to do all of the design for the app. If I could import the folder that he gave me from Eclipse, it would be easier to create a nice UI for the app.
Is this possible? If not, can I load the XML files into Flash Builder to make the UI? EDIT: To clarify, I have a project file that I can open in Eclipse. I want to edit the appearance of the project using Flash Builder without interfering with the application's functionality.

It's not too much of an issue as I have set the correct one again, which works fine most of the time, but not when I am editing the incorrect one and hit F11 - it attempts to run the project via this incorrect class. Our project badly needs to move to Flexmojos4 to get a fix, but this requires Maven 3. Our project makes extensive use of Maven and we really love it, but have configured it very heavily. Between a dozen modules we probably have 50+ pages of XML configuration.

I have an application on Google App Engine that is made of Adobe Flex [and Java] components. The app has buttons to do tasks related to the app, including an "Open" button, which allows the user to open a .XML file, which then gets converted into data/content that's displayed in the app GUI. Then I press the "Run" button and it calculates stuff related to the inputted data/content. Also, my datastore is setup using JDO. I'm using only GAE. I'm NOT using GWT.
Based on the nature of the calculations (algorithms) I'm running, I would benefit from being able to open an XML file and then click the Run button on my app simultaneously on lets say 5 different versions of my app that I have uploaded to app engine. The 5 versions would be identical.Is there a way to create, say, an HTML page where the user would provide a link to the XML file (or open/load it from their disk) to be processed, then press "Go," where then the XML file is passed to all 5 versions of my app, then "automatically presses the Run button" on each?I can do this manually at the moment by going to each version-specific URL for my app, but it takes too long. Do you have any suggestions for how I would go about setting up such a script?
EDIT: Motivation for the problem: It's not XML processing time that I'm worried about. I currently have 2 algorithms that compute the number of particular types of "special points" that exist in an inputted XML file which contains large amounts of data. The difference between the two algorithms is that the 1st searches until it finds every special point. Then it stops. The 2nd searches and stops when it finds the first special point it comes across. Using multiple instances of this 2nd algorithm, one has the potential of finding all the points faster than the 1st algorithm.
In Eclipse (and Flash/Flex Builder) you get the option with Ctrl+Shift+F to do a file search and look for a regular expression. Would be a real handy thing to know.

i've installed the Perforce Eclipse plugin successfully in Flash Builder 4.5.however, the only problem i've run into is that whenever i open a ActionScript file (either one that is or isn't checked out) there is no syntax coloring - it's simply a white background with black text.
i've changed themes so that i have a dark background with different colored syntax but Perforce also removes that coloring, although this time it's the dark background with all white text.
