I'm currently working on a Java/Flex project and I'm looking for a way to generate some parts of my Actionscript code from my Java files. One of the goal is to generate the AS valueObjects from the JAVA transferObject as well as some AS code to access the serverside function asynchronous. And other important point is that I want to be independent of some IDE. The code generation should run from Maven or Ant and take the Java source code as input.I looked a little bit around and found stuff like SpringROO, Groovy-GRAM, AST in eclipse,..
As part of a nightly build i want to automate the generation of action script classes like Flex does but in an automated fashion. So I'm looking for an equivalent tool to flex builder 3's Import Web Service functionality, but accesable to a Hudson nightly build using ant.
I think i must be missing something very basic about packages and classes. I am often downloading source code from people who offer there source code on the internet. I think this is a good way to look at what people are doing and try to understand the code. Ideally I want to see the program in a .fla, see it in action when I "ctrl enter" and play with the code to change some things and learn a bit.
The thing is it always seems to be just .as files with public and private package/class code and never an actual .fla with the actual program. This is probably a really stupid question but is there a reason for this?
I'm following along the MonkeyContactsCodeGenExample guide and when I run the ant target for test-with-launcher, I get a popup saying:VerifyError: Error #1053: Illegal override of allowInsecureDomain in _MonkeyContacts_mx_managers_SystemManager.This is followed by:ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable _MonkeyContacts_mx_managers_SystemManager is not defined. These popups are from the debug flash player - the normal flash player would silently supress these errors.
It seems that these sorts of errors occur when different files or swc components are compiled under different SDKs. If so, what parts would I need to recompile in this situation?I checked out the flex project sources and have rebuilt them under SDK 3.4, and I also got the project sources for fluint and have recompiled those already. The newly compiled fluint.swc was then copied to the lib directories of the MonkeyFluintAirTestRunner and MonkeyTestLauncher projects and then everything was re-built, but I still get this error with the MonkeyContacts example.
i am working on a flex+java combined project. My IDE and computer configuration is as follows:
[Code]...
When i make a small change in Flex code (eg, reposition of a button...anything), and run the project on server, it does make any change on output. Actually it depends on my luck... because it makes change in output randomly.what is is happening? tried rebuild, republish, clean , restart server, restarting the IDE, restarting the computer all available feature i could think. Also, i created a simple flex project on IDE and compiled it..... everything is compiled and displayed on output.
I would like to know how to build a flex based flash file and handle it through java but the open-source way. I would like to learn using flex to develop webpages. Is there any way to implement it using eclipse IDE.
Does anyone know where I can get a hold of the FlexMonkium source code? I can checkout the FlexMonkey source but I cannot seem to locate the FlexMonkium source.
Please is there any open source solution that can help me to secure the source code of a project that is developed by too many developers from being copied of stolen by the team member? My Boss asked me to find a solution that put all the project in the server and allow all the developers to develop on the server from their computers, is this possible?
Is there anywhere available a software which allows to build UML diagram from AS3 code ?I found that someone started to implement that in ArgoUML, but with any results yet.Does anyone now if there is any software which can do that ?
I am putting together a presentation on flex for adobe user group that specialize in coldfusion. In my example I would like to display the text of the cfc being called from the webservice tag in my flex application. Is there a simple way to load the actual text for the cfc instead of the html that coldfusion is passing back to my URLloader variable?
I converted a .swf file into .fla file using Sothink SWF Decompiler. I can open the file with Adobe Flash Professional CS5, but I cant see the source code. The only thing that I see is the timeline layers. I want to change the background picture of the Flash and save it as .swf.
It works by reading an existing Class file, parses it, generates an Interface-like .as file for it, and saves it locally, all from within FlexBuilder. It works perfectly but I'd like to improve it by having it automatically open, modify and save the files with only a few user clicks required.Currently I'm using FileFilter, but this requires that the programmer manualy select each file to parse, and then manually select where to save the output - it's tedious.Normally I'd simply use AIR, but because of my company's security policies I am not allowed to create my own AIR applications.
According to the answers to this question here, the reason why I'm not seeing errors as I work in Flash Builder is that FB is "optimizing" them out because they aren't referenced at any point in the code execution. Is there an option to force Flash Builder to compile all files regardless of whether they're used in the software?
My ant buildfiles tell mxmlc.jar to recompile target mxml source. However, if the target mxml source file has not changed, either ant or mxmlc is ignoring the file and will not create a new swf. This is an annoyance because I'm editing files imported by the target mxml. I need it to rebuild when those files change. I'm guessing that the mxmlc is creating a cache file somewhere and comparing the target mxml (or maybe just a hash). Is this what is happening? What's the standard work-around? At the moment, I'm editing the target mxml just to cause a file change.
I've got a Java/Flex project that I'm building using Maven. After doing some research I'm using the Flexmojos project [URL] for the Flex part, and almost everything seems to work fine so far (after a bit of struggling). I'm using version 4.0-alpha-5 (4.0-SNAPSHOT didn't seem to work for me).The Flex projects isn't recognized by Eclipse as Flex projects though. If I manually change the .project file and add .actionScriptProperties and .flexProperties files, Eclipse seems to recognize the projects as Flex projects.
I'm using Eclipse and I'm wondering what the best Eclipse/Java/Flexbuilder code review tool is. If it matters we're using SVN as our SCM. Here are the following I've come across: Jupiter - seems like it's been around for awhile it looks like there is only a single developer on the project and the documentation mentions rather old versions of Eclipse IBM's Collaborative Code Review plugin for eclipse - seems like its a proprietary code review tool so not sure it will be supported in the future (or have the ability for a community to assist in development). Eclipse COLA real-time shared editing - Not really a code review tool but more a way to view/edit files peer-to-peer style allowing code review like collaboration. Check out this video demonstration of COLA.
I've programmed a Java application using BlazeDS and Flex, but i think the problem also occurs in any ajax style application. It's a monitoring application, so requests are made regularly to the server. The browser has stored a large amount of temporary internet files on the client pc even getting it saturated. How I can avoid this? I have seen some articles that say to include variables in the html header as:
I want to build a community website with videoconferencing functionality integrated. I would prefer to provide this from within the browser, so I'm looking for a Java- or Flash-based solution. Also, it would be nice to spare bandwidth by having the clients stream their audio and video data without using a central server (like the way Skype works, for example). Is there a reasonably mature open-source project that meets these criteria?
i have a Air Project in which i have added three extenal source folders. but when i reopen project or strat flash builder again i get icon on those folder like this but when i open the configuration for that project and try to validate the path and adding it again i get message like this but the path is valid. proof is this pic what could be possible error,,, is there any way that i when ever re-open project i get no warning and able to navigate through the linked source code. now i am doing it
I would like look for an open source image resize and uploader for a web application. Preferably leveraging on W3C speficication and try avoid need client to install any application.
Target uploading images are limited to 1 ~ 3 and resizing in terms of width & height only.
So inside my src folder I have my app.mxml file. I have a source directory pointed to my actionscript library. It appears that Flex does not look inside that source directory including an .as file within the master mxml file.
I could just have the main app.as file inside the src folder along with my app.mxml file but it would be nice if it could live in the actionscript library.

I have a set of sound clips to be played one after another in a sequence with couple of time interval inbetween. In my case, its a question - followed by the set of four options.
When I write the below code, all the audop files start together at same time. How can I had time delay inbetween, so that the second clip plays only after the first one is over, and the third one starts playing, only when the second option is over.
My client has asked to generate pop art images for the user uploaded images, Does any one of you has done some work related to this? is this sort of work is possible in flex, flash, as3, etc,
There is one software named pop art studio, which generates such images. we have Image magic software with us, does image magic generates these sort of pop art images? i don't have much idea about Image magic.
one solution for this would have been, if these images were our images, then we would haven taken them as the separate parts of one image, and applied color transform or any other thing on those parts, and would have generated these sort of poparts displayed in the picture , but client requires this option on user uploaded images, so all this is not possible in that case.
I am using Flex Builder 3, working on a PC. Everything was working as expected throughout my first day of code updates, but on day 2 Flex started behaving badly. The problem started when I removed a component, and then got an error that it couldn't find the specified component in some accompanying AS3 code. No problem, I updated the reference so it wouldn't look for the old missing component (a form item). When I compiled the project in debugger to check my work, it failed when it got to that part, and gave an error that it couldn't find the component I'd removed. However, my code had fixed the problem, and the error was referencing a line of code that wasn't there any more. I proceeded to change the file around greatly, and even resorted to creating a new file, changing the name of it, and then recompiling it. I did a clean compile as well, rebooted my machine, restarted Flex, but every time it gives an error referencing the bit of code that isn't even there any more. It's as if it's loading a cached project each time (both in debugger and run mode).
For reference, here's the error I'm getting: ReferenceError: Error #1069: Property Winter Cost not found on views.PopupUsage and there is no default value.Well, the file "PopupUsage.mxml" doesn't even exist any more and is not referenced in my project at all, but it's still being referenced by Flex when I compile the files. What can I do to make Flex move on and look at my code?
In ideal it must give me 5 black squares on random positions on checker field. But in fact it giving me less up to none black squares. I really stuck into this because i literally can't find answer.
