View 2 RepliesI want to build a community website with videoconferencing functionality integrated. I would prefer to provide this from within the browser, so I'm looking for a Java- or Flash-based solution. Also, it would be nice to spare bandwidth by having the clients stream their audio and video data without using a central server (like the way Skype works, for example). Is there a reasonably mature open-source project that meets these criteria?
View 3 RepliesI would like to know how to build a flex based flash file and handle it through java but the open-source way. I would like to learn using flex to develop webpages. Is there any way to implement it using eclipse IDE.
View 3 RepliesI would like look for an open source image resize and uploader for a web application. Preferably leveraging on W3C speficication and try avoid need client to install any application.
Target uploading images are limited to 1 ~ 3 and resizing in terms of width & height only.
I need Open source lib for Audio based generative art (Flash/Action Script)Something like or easier than Very Interactive People example
Something more strictly formatted and more 2d than Mr.Doobs examples
I need to find a flash video player that is free and open source. I love flowplayer and jwplayer but we fit into their most expensive licenses. It will cost us over $1400 to license flowplayer for our use. We don't have that right now.
I just need a flash player with a basic javascript api that is truly free. I have been googling for hours and nothing so far.
It would be a huge plus if someone knows of a chromeless youtube player that uses the youtube as3 api. I don't have time right now to code an entire chromeless player complete with all the controls and a progress bar.
I have an application on Google App Engine that is made of Adobe Flex [and Java] components. The app has buttons to do tasks related to the app, including an "Open" button, which allows the user to open a .XML file, which then gets converted into data/content that's displayed in the app GUI. Then I press the "Run" button and it calculates stuff related to the inputted data/content. Also, my datastore is setup using JDO. I'm using only GAE. I'm NOT using GWT.
Based on the nature of the calculations (algorithms) I'm running, I would benefit from being able to open an XML file and then click the Run button on my app simultaneously on lets say 5 different versions of my app that I have uploaded to app engine. The 5 versions would be identical. Is there a way to create, say, an HTML page where the user would provide a link to the XML file (or open/load it from their disk) to be processed, then press "Go," where then the XML file is passed to all 5 versions of my app, then "automatically presses the Run button" on each?I can do this manually at the moment by going to each version-specific URL for my app, but it takes too long. Do you have any suggestions for how I would go about setting up such a script?
EDIT: Motivation for the problem: It's not XML processing time that I'm worried about. I currently have 2 algorithms that compute the number of particular types of "special points" that exist in an inputted XML file which contains large amounts of data. The difference between the two algorithms is that the 1st searches until it finds every special point. Then it stops. The 2nd searches and stops when it finds the first special point it comes across. Using multiple instances of this 2nd algorithm, one has the potential of finding all the points faster than the 1st algorithm.
I need to develop a browser based application that record the user screen, much preferably on flv. Also doing that with java would be perfect. That's exactly what they accomplished at [url].... , with just a javaWS app.

View 2 RepliesI want to know if some of you guys that have worked with BigBlueButton have found or have used a file sharing module. I've seen it on some basic documentation but still nothing concrete.
View 1 RepliesI'm on planning/modeling phase to develop a remote desktop sharing solution, which must be web browser based. In other words: an user will be able to see and interact with someone's remote desktop using his web-browser.Everything the user who wants to share his desktop will need, besides his browser, is installing an add-in, which he's going to be prompted about when necessary. The add-in is required since (afaik) no browser technology allows desktop control from an app running within the browser alone. The add-in installation process must be as simple and transparent as possible to the user (similar to AdobeConnectNow, in case anyone's acquainted with it).The user can share his desktop with lots of people at the same time, but concede desktop control to only one of them at a time(makes no sense being otherwise).
Project requirements:All technology employed must be open-source license compatible. Both front ends are going to be in flash (browser)Must work on Linux, Windows XP(and later) and MacOSX.Must work at least with IE7(and later) and Firefox3.0(and later). At the very least, once the sharer's stream hits the server from where it'll be broadcast, hereon it must be broadcasted in flv (so I'm thinking whether to do the encoding at the client's machine (the one sharing the desktop) or send it in some other format to the server and encode it there).Performance and scalability are important: It must be able to handle hundreds of dozens of users(one desktop sharer, the rest viewers)We'll definitely be using red5.My doubts concern mostly implementing the desktop publisher side (add-in and streamer):
1) Are you aware of other projects that I could look into for ideas? (I'm aware of bigbluebutton.org and code.URL...)
2) Should I base myself on VNC ?
3) Bearing in mind the need to have it working cross-platform, what language should I go with? (My team is very used with java and I have some knowledge of C/C++, but anything goes really).
[URL] but as the link is provided but no contacts available, I cannot check out this issue..basically, I went through the codes and able to understand but coming to this point, on the top right corner of the rect, the day number do not appear as it appears on the site..when I do trace, the text is there, but swf is not showing it.
View 0 RepliesAre there any off the shelf components for adding a screen sharing feature to my app?I've built real time text chat for a group chat room - now I'd like to have a button where a user can share their screen with the other members of the chat. Basically, I'm looking for a way to add this feature as easily as possible:

I'm currently working on a Java/Flex project and I'm looking for a way to generate some parts of my Actionscript code from my Java files. One of the goal is to generate the AS valueObjects from the JAVA transferObject as well as some AS code to access the serverside function asynchronous. And other important point is that I want to be independent of some IDE. The code generation should run from Maven or Ant and take the Java source code as input.I looked a little bit around and found stuff like SpringROO, Groovy-GRAM, AST in eclipse,..
View 6 RepliesQuick question, has anyone ever come across either a web cam API or an open source alternative that can be easily integrated to a site without having any Flash or ActionScript experience.
I should probably say what I'm trying to do.... The idea is to create a Facebook app that lets friends communicate (and meet new people too) in real time over web cam.
I am looking for an open-source iTunes style media player that I can use as a base for functionality I would like to develop. I am quite keen on Flex/Air, or C# or Java will do for languages.
View 3 RepliesNeed to customize the scrubbing code for an flvplayer. I'm aware of the OSMF project, but I need to target FP9.
View 2 RepliesI'm trying to learn more about flash, and have found a couple of useful sites. However, I'm having trouble working out how to use their source files, and wondered if anyone here might be able to help please.url...I can't work out how to compile it - I know I need the Five3D files (url...), but even when I download that, and then create a .fla file in the same directory, nothing happens.I am probably missing something very obvious, but I can't work out what to do.There is a .fla file, but there is NOTHING in there that links to the .as file - there is no ActionScript at all I can see if the FLA file, that links to the .as file.
View 2 RepliesI am looking for a Flash based image uploader with resize and possibly rotate function. I have checked many possibilities, and the very best in simplicity and unser experience I found is Kroppr at a very affordable €29/license. The downside is, it comes with encrypted PHP code to bind the product to a subdomain. That is understandable, but while I'm perfectly happy to pay money for a tool as great as that, and ready to sign all sorts of legal agreements to protect the license, I am not ready to use encrypted PHP code, especially not from an outlet that doesn't even have a postal address on its web site.Does anybody know an Open Source or commercial solution that comes close to Kroppr and ships with source, or allow for full customization and free definition of the server-side backend?[code]The server side technology would preferably be PHP.
View 9 RepliesI have an ArrayCollection we'll call "Items". It is essentially a flat collection of hierarchical data (each item has Parent and Children properties). I want an AdvancedDataGrid to display the data in hierarchical form, so essentially I could just do this and it would display fine:
// Note: RootItems would be an ArrayCollection that is updated so only the
// top level items are within (item.Parent == null).
var hd:HierarchicalData = new HierarchicalData(model.RootItems);
[code].....
I can code things fine myself but I've never used anyone elses code components to build something. I need to make a magazine that has a page fli effect and someone pointed me to Rubens flex book component (I'm assuming I can use it with flash). I've downloaded the zip file but I'm not sure how to actually start making my book. Everything is in different folders, because I assume they all are interlinked and are specificied with their paths within their classes.
I'm thinking I need to make a fla and then a document class and link that to the fla. But what do I put in the document class?
