I want to know if some of you guys that have worked with BigBlueButton have found or have used a file sharing module. I've seen it on some basic documentation but still nothing concrete.
View 1 RepliesI'm on planning/modeling phase to develop a remote desktop sharing solution, which must be web browser based. In other words: an user will be able to see and interact with someone's remote desktop using his web-browser.Everything the user who wants to share his desktop will need, besides his browser, is installing an add-in, which he's going to be prompted about when necessary. The add-in is required since (afaik) no browser technology allows desktop control from an app running within the browser alone. The add-in installation process must be as simple and transparent as possible to the user (similar to AdobeConnectNow, in case anyone's acquainted with it).The user can share his desktop with lots of people at the same time, but concede desktop control to only one of them at a time(makes no sense being otherwise).
Project requirements:All technology employed must be open-source license compatible.Both front ends are going to be in flash (browser)Must work on Linux, Windows XP(and later) and MacOSX.Must work at least with IE7(and later) and Firefox3.0(and later).At the very least, once the sharer's stream hits the server from where it'll be broadcast, hereon it must be broadcasted in flv (so I'm thinking whether to do the encoding at the client's machine (the one sharing the desktop) or send it in some other format to the server and encode it there).Performance and scalability are important: It must be able to handle hundreds of dozens of users(one desktop sharer, the rest viewers)We'll definitely be using red5.My doubts concern mostly implementing the desktop publisher side (add-in and streamer):
1) Are you aware of other projects that I could look into for ideas? (I'm aware of bigbluebutton.org and code.URL...)
2) Should I base myself on VNC ?
3) Bearing in mind the need to have it working cross-platform, what language should I go with? (My team is very used with java and I have some knowledge of C/C++, but anything goes really).
Is there any open source screen sharing (or desktop sharing) software that I can use to integrate into my web site? Any flash/java based solutions?

View 1 RepliesI have created a modular application. I have two modules, for example Module1 and Module2.I have loaded these modules in my application. I am using Parsley in my application. I have loaded separate different context builder in both modules.
But when I am dispatching event from Module1, I am able to listen that event in that Module1 but I am trying to listen that event in another Module2. I am not able to listen that event in that Module2 through Parsley.
I tried with flex and java in the backend. In this, I am able to upload files till 100 MB using remote object (blazeDs) where we will read the file as byte array and send it to the java method. If the file size exceeds after that, then I get the run time error in IE.

Since installing Flash CS4 (I previously had CS3) I've had a rather annoying problem that is really cutting into my productivity.If I 'Test Movie' or 'Debug Movie' and then switch back to my actionscripting window and make changes and then try to save without closing the movie, I receive a sharing violation notification.I then have to close the movie and wait for at least 3 seconds after doing so before a saI know that doesn't sound like much, but when you do it hundreds of times in a day it really eats up time and interrupts workflow.

EDIT: I need to do this on the server in Java/CF at runtime - it's got to be automatic - I'm not looking for screen-grab software.

I'm trying to find something that will let users upload multiple files to a website. The requirements are that it let them easily select multiple files (preferably with something like check boxes) and that it displays a preview of the images they select.
I'd prefer to only use Javascript or Flash if possible, but Java is also an option (this needs to work on platforms where Silverlight isn't available). So far all I've been able to find are things that use the native file selector (which doesn't show previews on Windows, and makes it unclear that you can select multiple by holding ctrl). I'm not sure if the preview requirement is even possible, but it's the most important.
I have a WebView that is loading a URL that plays a Flash file. This works in the regular Android Browser, or if I use an Intent. For some reason it won't load in my WebView. It tells me I need to download Flash Player, even though it has already been installed:

I'm trying to evaluate whether Flex can access binary sockets. Seems that there's a class calles Socket (flex.net package). The requirement is that Flex will connect to a server serving binary data. It will then subscribe to data and receive the feed which it will interpret and display as a chart. I've never worked with Flex, my experience lies with Java, so everything is new to me. So I'm trying to quickly set something simple up. The Java server expects the following:
DataInputStream in = .....
byte cmd = in.readByte();
int size = in.readByte();
byte[] buf = new byte[size];
in.readFully(buf);

After that - EOFException happens on the server and that's it. So the question is, am I approaching whole streaming data issue wrong when it comes to Flex? Am I sending the policy file wrong? Unfortunately, I can't seem to find a good solid example of how to do it. It seems to me that Flex can do binary Client-Server application, but I personally lack some basic knowledge when doing it. I'm using Flex 3.5 in IntelliJ IDEA IDE.

I have an Adobe AIR application for Android. Using for this AIR 3.0 and Flash Builder 4.6. I need to make MyANEFile.ane - which must include 2 external .jar files: Flurry.jar + Tapjoy.jar. But when I made .ane file - it does not work. How can I add this 2 jar files to my main application jar file to make .ane file properly? It shows me such errors in dalvik:
