May 27, 2010I'm trying to find something that will let users upload multiple files to a website. The requirements are that it let them easily select multiple files (preferably with something like check boxes) and that it displays a preview of the images they select.
I'd prefer to only use Javascript or Flash if possible, but Java is also an option (this needs to work on platforms where Silverlight isn't available). So far all I've been able to find are things that use the native file selector (which doesn't show previews on Windows, and makes it unclear that you can select multiple by holding ctrl). I'm not sure if the preview requirement is even possible, but it's the most important.
Java :: Select Single File Or Multiple Files To Download?
Sep 30, 2011I'm currently working on a Flex3/blazeDS/Spring/Oracle project. My requirement is display a list of files from an external FTP server in a grid, user can select single file or multiple files to download, and if user selects multiple files I should tar the files on the FTP server and download the tar file from FTP server to user disk. As per my understanding on the File Download in Flex we have 2 ways to do it. 1) File Reference 2) Using navigateURL and call server side JSP/Servlets to download files.
1) For FileReference we need to download the data first and prompt the user to save the file by clicking on some button. We cannot prompt the 'Save' dialogue without the click event for Security reasons in Flex (Workaround). But my client hates this process because its two steps and he want it in one step like normal file download with only 'Save' dialogue. Then I tried the second option.
2) navigateURL. Open a new windows make a post url request for to JSP/Servlets and prompt the 'Save' dialogue. The problem I am facing here is the pop-up window does not close once the download is complete. navigateURL does not return any reference to the window to close the window. I even tried different content types and headers and java script but none seems to work. The window closes when it is a single file and not for the tar or zip file. I would like to download the popup window for any type of downloads. I am using IE7.

81.88 is the first position where two Cuepoints are set on the same point of time. I named them 81.88a and 81.88b in After Effects but it wont make a difference. Each of these points has some important parameters (cornerpoint data) so that i need them all.

Sep 27, 2009i'm trying to create a multiple file uploader using FileReference. The user should be able to select more than one file but i don't want to use FileReferenceList for this. So instead the user opens the Browse dialog, picks a file then opens up the Browse dialog again, picks another file etc.
To make this work i'm trying to copy the FileReference object into an array, but this isn't really working. Here's how i do it:

Dec 30, 2011I am trying to create a multiple file upload flash application to be called from an External Interface, but it isn't working.
AS3:

When I run the script and comment out the fileRef parts and uncomment the alert call, it shows the alert, also when I comment out the ExternalInterface call, leaving only the fileRef parts, it shows the file upload dialog.
When I run it as intended, I get the following error:

Oct 28, 2009we have java and flex projects at work. We currently have 1 base pom that contains the configurations we want to use for both projects. Problem with this is: flex projects inherit configuration for javadoc and pmd for example, which they do not want.
I want to do this a bit more clean and have a real base-pom and then a java-base-pom and a flex-base-pom. But how does this work in a multimodule that has both a flex part and a java part?
We have plugins to our own application where we use the following structure:
my-plugin
my-plugin-client (flex)
my-plugin-server (java)
The my-plugin just contains a pom.xml with section. I would use the my-plugin pom.xml as a parent to both, but then I cannot also use the java base-pom or the flex base-pom also as parent.

There is only JUpload, but it's old and became buggy recently. I believe both Java and Flash can do this: select a folder at client's HD and download everything there.

Jun 16, 2011I want to create a simple animation of a game so you can see the playout of a game. It should be an animation in which you just see the game Tic-Tac-Toe played. I have the states of the games in a description. So player 1 marks a cell = state 1; player 2 marks a cell = state 2 etc.. I currently have the game parsed in a ruby program; it will be easy to display just one state (like in the image), but how do I create an animation from it? Is there an easy way to do this? I'm open to solutions in every language but it shouldn't take to much time to implement. I want to show such an animation in a presentation.

Apr 15, 2012I am writing a Red5 application that provides 1-on-1 video chat to a Flash client over RTMP.
Unfortunately most tutorials I was able to find were sketchy at best and the documentation of Red5 itself tends to be vague when it comes to API concepts and intended usage.
In short, I am a bit stuck and looking for hints on Red5 ApplicationAdapter implementation. Gnarly details are as follows:
First of all, the connections come in two flavors: visitors and consultants. A visitor should be able to indicate which consultant it wishes to communicate with. A consultant simply gets connected to the requesting visitor as long as the consultant is not busy servicing another. Obviously, every RTMP connection has two-way traffic: both sending and receiving video. From the standpoint of the server, connections bring in a bunch of video streams that get their receiving endpoints assigned by request. Since several video conversations can be in progress simultaneously, the main task of the application is to handle the mapping of visitor streams to consultants and provide a list indicating each consultant's state (busy/available) via AMF.
So, all in all, I have a pretty good idea what I am aiming for but how to achieve it with Red5 is still a bit of a mystery.
What is the easiest way to establish the connection type (visitor/consultant)? Which API classes should be used to implement a persistent, globally accessible list of active connections for reporting the state of each consultant? How to switch receving endpoints dynamically when the goal is to connect a specific visitor to the selected consultant?

Aug 17, 2011I'd like it to display a question on one page, then have a next button which takes the user to another page telling them if that question was correct or not, and if it is correct they can move on to the next question (by clicking another next button) and if they got it wrong, have to go back and answer it again. However I have no clue how to do this! which includes a quiz. Would it be a better idea to create the quiz in Flash or something and then embed it into my Java application? Or just do the whole thing in Java?

Dec 19, 2010how to structure the comms of a blazeds/flex game. What I'm trying to achieve is to have x no. of games occuring on the server each of which will contain 2 to 6 players. i think this will involve segmenting a feed, by creating a subtopic. eg game A gets filled with Player A + Player B, a dynamic destination gets created on the server side, and the new destination id gets returned to the clients. Not sure if I have that correct - to give some further background - the main server side code for a 2 player setup is here

Jan 26, 2012I am trying to create a datagrid in FLEX. The trouble is that I want it to be 100% dynamic - i.e. columns & data.
Basically I need to populate the datagrid via a result set from a database query, this data will be gathered via a standard java spring jdbc dao layer. The query is as generic as 'select * from tablename', so the result set can change from query to query.
My plan is to convert this result set into some form of java object, my initial thought is a Map of some kind that will contain the column name and values for a row.
The bit Im struggling with is that I need to convert this result set into a ActionScript object (via graniteds) that I can then use to populate a datatable.
I have seen lots of examples on how to dynamically add columns to the datagrid, and tie in the data via the datafield object - but Im stuck as to how I do this if I dont know how many columns I will have or what the column names will be.

ShockWaveFlash ActiveX In VB6?
Nov 22, 2002In VB6 the main form loads a full screen .swf animation played by the ActiveX control ShockwaveFlash. If I rightclick on it (the control while playing) a small rectangular form says "About MacroMedia Flash Player 5" then the second form should be loaded (when animation is over) but Runtime error 401 says "Can't show non-modal form when modal form is displayed". I know the cause of this error and can fix it. But do you know a way about how to make ActiveX control ShockWaveFlash itself ( thru its properties maybe) not respond to right-clicks at runtime?

P.S No reason to right-click there, but as you know users can do anything.While the animation is playing mousepointer is set to invisible, yet still the error.

But how do you create the actual menu? If you can't do it with AIR, then has anybody tried to recreate/mimic it manually already and could you please share the properties (colors, transparency, any gradients?) and transitions (sliding in/out) you've used? I've found some guidelines already, but any Flash-specific tips/properties (like which easing to use for sliding transitions?).
Buttons - Loading Without ActiveX?

It looks great.I added it to the HTML of my website, but everytime you load the page, you have to download the ActiveX control...How is it that people have drop-down-button-menus that are flash-based, yet they don't make you download the ActiveX control? Should I just scrap my buttons and try to use CSS, or HTML, or Javascript?

Oct 18, 2010I am trying to put a Flash ActiveX control into a Windows Form but I am running into a problem: a lack of documentation. The best I have found is a site called "F-IN-BOX" that has some documentation but much of the API is still a black box. For example, some property will take an integer or a string and provide no clue about what it wants. Another exanple is the FlashVersion() function that inexplicably returns 655361 on version 10.
Incidentally I'm having the same problem with Apple's Quicktime OCX. I've searched both sites and Google and I'm starting to wonder if either of these companies provide documentation for any of their products. Does anybody know where I can find documentation for either of them, even if it's the unofficial variety?

Professional :: Cannot Set FlashVars With Flash ActiveX 10.1.53.64
Jul 19, 2010My external container isn't able to set FlashVars since I upgraded to Flash version 10.1.53.64. What's the matter ? A simple for loop didn't list anything in the loaderInfo.parameters object (for (var val:String in loaderInfo.parameters)).
It didn't happen with any older Flash version.
Environment:
Windows XP SP3
Container: Excel 2003, set FlashVars through VBA code
Flash ActiveX version 10.1.53.64
