View 2 RepliesIn Eclipse (and Flash/Flex Builder) you get the option with Ctrl+Shift+F to do a file search and look for a regular expression. Would be a real handy thing to know.
I want to find the word negate if it appears in a Flex/java comment like the following:
// It was negated because

How can I attach an AS3.0 Flash Builder 4 project to a FLA file and a document for compilation? Currently I have a AS project full of files which I can't build. What should I do?
View 2 RepliesI have an AIR project that I was working on Flash Builder 4.5 which now I'm trying to import to my updated Flash Builder 4.5.1 and it is prompting me to fix some paths before the import is completed. I'm kinda clueless what I should put in those fields.

I am trying to migrate a project from Flash Builder 4.0 to Flash Builder 4.5. After Flash Builder prompts me to choose my new SDK, I choose 4.5, Then I get the following error:" error "The required skin state 'disabledWithPrompt' is missing".
View 1 RepliesI am trying to develop one simple application using Java, Flex and Blazeds. I am using Flash builder 4.5, blazeds 4 and JBoss 6.I have created 'Dynamic Web' application in Eclipse, added blazeds related file in WEB-INF/lib and in WEB-INF/flex folder. I have deployed this web application in JBoss using Eclipse, so this application is getting deployed in war file.Then I tried to create new 'Flex Project' using flash builder 4.5 and I am stuck in 2nd step where we have to configure Root Folder, Root URL and Context Root.As my java web application is deployed in war, there's no folder to which I can set Root Folder.
View 1 Repliesi am working on a flex+java combined project.My IDE and computer configuration is as follows:
[Code]...
When i make a small change in Flex code (eg, reposition of a button...anything), and run the project on server, it does make any change on output. Actually it depends on my luck... because it makes change in output randomly.what is is happening? tried rebuild, republish, clean , restart server, restarting the IDE, restarting the computer all available feature i could think. Also, i created a simple flex project on IDE and compiled it..... everything is compiled and displayed on output.
Maven 2.2.1 unzipped,M2_HOME set and repository altered to point to different drive location in settings.xml Flex 4.0:
Installed Created a multi-modular webapp project using flexmojo:
mvn archetype:generate
-DarchetypeRepository=http://repository.sonatype.org/content/groups/flexgroup
-DarchetypeGroupId=org.sonatype.flexmojos
-DarchetypeArtifactId=flexmojos-archetypes-modular-webapp
-DarchetypeVersion=RELEASE
with following options
groupId=com.test
artifactId=test
version=1.0-snapshot
[code]....
Parent pom has swc, swf, war as modules.
Dependency is war->swf->swc.
With parent artifactId of swf, swc, war set to swf, swc, test respectively.On executing mvn on test folder(for that matter clean or anything) I get this following error.
G:Projects est>mvn -e
+ Error stacktraces are turned on.
[INFO] Scanning for projects...

Looks like its trying to download the project from maven's central repository instead of building it.
I just upgraded to Flash Builder 4 (beta 2) from Flex Builder 3 which I have been using since it came out. Problem: All the projects that were in my workspace from Flex Builder 3 did not carry over into Flash Builder 4 (e.g. in the "Flex Navigator" view if FB3). Flash Builder 4 now uses the .FXP format to manage projects, but Flex Builder 3 did not. Is there an easy way to get all my projects back into Flash Builder 4?

When i change the code into my Flash Builder 4.5 project and hit run the output doesn't show the new result but the old one, only after a while the new result is showed on subsequent project runnings. Has anybody encounter this problem? Are there some hidden settings?
View 1 RepliesI must integrate a .jar file into a flash project. The project is like this: There'll be a flash video player for a Web Browser with Play, Pause, Stop commands. I must use voice commands to trigger the player actions. I have a .jar that makes the voice recognition so I want to integrate this file with my Flash Player.Is this possible?
P.S.: You may wonder why I don't use other tools, but it's a project for University with given materials, so I really need to use Flash + this given .jar .
i've been making an app for android in java, but i'm curious about convering to actionscript so that i could use flash builder to port my app onto BB and iOS too.is this possible through some sort of automater? how hard would it be? my app is pretty simplistic in the grand scheme of apps
View 1 RepliesI'd like to write a program using the facebook-actionscript-api. The google code's website of facebook api shows that it provides .swc files for flex 3.4 or the sources.
how can I add them to my Flash Builder project ? Do I need to compile the sources ?
How can I use the swc file in my project ?
I have a flash builder project that has no mxml file.
I'm wondering if there's a way to build a this project using hudson or even ant.
I've previously built a FB project and used the following syntax in the build.xml[code]...
I'm working on Flash Builder 4 and want to export a flex project so my colleague, with Flex 3, can open it. Unfortunately, exporting a .fxp file doesn't work with Flex 3. Is there any other way to do it?

View 1 RepliesIs there a way that I can load (or export) Flex/Flash builder project in Flash Professional CS5?As it turns out we got Flash Prof for our team, but it may look like we actually need Flash builder to build lots of UI related stuff..
View 1 RepliesI am debugging both a flash cs4 project and a flash builder project, actually the flash builder project will load the flash cs4 project thru swfloader, but the system can only support one debugger at a time. So I am seeking a method to debug it simultaneously...
View 1 RepliesI will not be hosting the .swf file and I would like to include images using Flash Builder 4. The images appear in a folder in the exported version and I'm not sure how to "embed" them into the .swf (so that I can deploy the file to sites like Kongregate, etc.)
Seems like it should be simple, but my Google fu is currently poor.
Edit: Note, I would like to continue using the Flex framework, which is what I am using now.
I am developing a project with Flex, and I need to deploy my project in a form which can be used by developers who do not have access to Flash Builder. I've found references to plugins from Faratasystems, but it appears their sourceforge site is a little bit rusty. I could not find an up to date installation file that'd include FX2Ant plugin and work with my Flash Builder 4
View 1 RepliesI have a file that I've been working on, and i want to take what I have and modify it heavily, but I want to keep the original; if there was a 'duplicate' project command I would do that, but I don't see one, and wondered if there might be a way to keep it all in the same project for tidiness purposes. I'd just copy paste the directory myself but just want to make sure I'm not missing some functionality.
View 1 RepliesI was just putting the finishing touches on a flex project that loads files from a second project.
In attempting to delete a second project, I somehow deleted the project I needed. I confirmed that I wanted to delete the files. I have a backup but it is a couple weeks old now. I feel like throwing up.
I just wanted to ask:
1) Is there a way to add swc files after the project is created
2) And is there a way to link some of assets in those swc to classes (for example link a ball asset to a class the implements its functionality. You can do that directly from flash pro CS5.5, but is there a way to do it in flash builder)
I need to set the size of SWF up to 800x600. But i don't know where can i change this property. There was an idea to change stage width and heigth, but nothing happened=(
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to use the Profiler for the first time so I don't know much about it. But it doesn't seem to work.I run my project under profiler, it says it is running, but no window shows up. Nothing. I can see the project's icon down there but I see no window at all.Can this be cause by the fact that I'm using Flex 4.5? You can the app in the dock and it shows its live objects, but I don't see the apps' window and cannot interact with it. The app is just a simple 400x400 window with some black shapes in it.
View 2 RepliesI wanted to import an older FB project into the flash builder on my new pc, but I only have the filestructure. So I used 'import>existing projects into workspace'.The files seem to be intact still, but the project now gives me an error regarding an swc in the bin folder:
'unable to open 'something'in'something'.swc
I'm working with a large Actionscript project, and every file needs to have it's imports organized. I noticed that you can achieve this easily in the Java version of eclipse, but that doesn't seem to work in Flash Builder. Is there a simple way to organise imports for the entire project?
View 1 RepliesI imported an .fxp project into a Flash Builder and then observed there are 5 .mxml files in the src/(default package) directory. Silly question -- how to run each of these five files?
Since I've named the project differently than any of the .mxml files, whenever I try to run something it uses the default (empty) .mxml file named after the project. Deleting that empty mxml file didn't help anything. I also tried to clean the project, but nothing changes (although I see the directories refresh with the same contents). There are no html files in the bin-debug directory.
There must be some simple way to run those .mxml files that I'm missing.
