Flex :: 'Root Folder' Name In Flas Builder 4.5 If Java Web Application Is Deployed In War File?
Nov 13, 2011
I am trying to develop one simple application using Java, Flex and Blazeds. I am using Flash builder 4.5, blazeds 4 and JBoss 6.I have created 'Dynamic Web' application in Eclipse, added blazeds related file in WEB-INF/lib and in WEB-INF/flex folder. I have deployed this web application in JBoss using Eclipse, so this application is getting deployed in war file. Then I tried to create new 'Flex Project' using flash builder 4.5 and I am stuck in 2nd step where we have to configure Root Folder, Root URL and Context Root.As my java web application is deployed in war, there's no folder to which I can set Root Folder.
Why does FlexBuilder insist on a main class in the root of the source folder? By insist I mean that if I create an Actionscript project called MainTest. A file called MainTest.as will be placed in the root of the src folder. if I now create a package/folder called some/package and place the MainTest.as in it (and adjust the package statement accordingly), I cannot select the project to use this as the application class in Properties/Actionscript Applications as the package is empty as far as Flexbulider is concerned.
So there is a restriction that a main/application class cannot have a package other than the root package. The mxmlc compiler and FDT do not enforce this restriction so why does Flex Builder?
I'm new to flex. Now I'm writing an flex application. I plan to split my application into some MXML files(Application as the root tag). How can I switch from one mxml to another?BTW, what is the best practice for design large flex application? Just one MXML Application and many MXML component or many MXML Application?
i have uploaded a simple 1 page website with the flash video sitting outside of the root folder of the site itself. i have pointed the flv playback components to the video and published it and uploaded it but the video does not appear on the pages.
I have a great idea and I want to build a flex application around a .jar file. Is there a way I can go by embedding a jar file into the flex application?
I have an html file which I want to use every time I debug my flex application. I don't want an new html file to be generated every time. How can I do this?
I have two applications: a client in flex and a server in Java. When I deploying the application inside flex builder with the tomcat server inside as well, everything works fine. But now I'm trying to deploy in apache tomcat outside the flex/eclipse builder and I have a problem.I think the problem is with relative/absolute paths but I do not know how to resolve it.In my Java application I have to access a database and a get a file from it. I use a properties to set a path where I want to download that files like this:pacs.ruta=C:\resources\And then I need to access to that file so in use this code:fin = new FileInputStream(pacsRuta+""+f.getName());where f.getName() gives me the name of the file so I get the path of the file with the path I set in pacs.ruta and the files name.
I do not know why it does not work. I tried to put pacs.ruta=/resources/to associate with a folder in my application but It does not work.Could someone give me an advice? Do you think it is the problem? Because the whole application works fine deploying in a tomcat server outside the flex/eclipse builder but when this code is called the application does not work.
I'm programming Rich web applications with Flex and Java on Flex Builder 3 using blazeDS and SharedObjects. Now I need that my program will use configuration file.so, I need that my Java class will read it at the first time but the default path of java to read and write files is c:program filesFlex Builder 3 and not my application directory inside the tomcat webapps directory How can I read the config file from the java class without write the path hardcoded in the java?
I have created a simple "Hello World" Application using Flash Builder Burrito SDK. I have tested the result in the emulator it is working great. After that I deployed the application using "Export Release Build Option" and entered valid certificate details and created the .apk file. I copied the .apk file into the device and i run the application. I am unable to run the app. I have tried these in 3 android supported devices and in each of these I am getting different error messages.
I have mentioned the device in which I have tested and the error message I got while I tried to install the app (.apk file). HTC Desire - "Error while parsing the package of the application" Samsung Galaxy Tab - "Error while parsing the package of the application" LG Optimus one (LG P500) - "Application not installed"
I have created a New Mobile Project in the flash SDK and added simple label "HELLO WORLD" in the view section. Before deploying I have installed Adobe AIR 2.5 in the device. I need to know whether any restrictions are there for applications developed using Flash Burrito Preview Release. (whether by default all android mobile version more than 2.1 will support it?) Also when I try to install "Tour De Mobile Flex" apk in LG Optimus, it is saying "Device not supported" message. How do I overcome these problems to run the apk file without any problems.
How do I import a class that resides outside the root folder of a fla file?
From root I should go back two folders to get the classes I want, which by the way is TweenMax. I don't want to copy these classes to every website's folder.
i have situation in which i have some library projects, say
"DataProcessors","Lib2"
, included in my lets say "MainProject" (a web project) placed on directory
"E:in-debugMainProject.swf"
, when i build the project it automatically place all the libs .swf in its "E:in-debug" folder, but when i debug or run the project it it gives loading error that
I have a db file Resided in Flex Air Bindebug Folder,Here i want to Move/save this db File at another location let say In mydocument/or any Folder, I am not able to do it's programatically.
In Eclipse (and Flash/Flex Builder) you get the option with Ctrl+Shift+F to do a file search and look for a regular expression. Would be a real handy thing to know.
I want to find the word negate if it appears in a Flex/java comment like the following:
the problem is as so: I have a java server running on tomcat 7.0 and having the library Gson 2.1 on it. I have and object to be encoded into json that got an attribute which is an array and might be an empty one.
when I send my json object via the response writer to the Flex Builder 4.5 in the Network Monitor view in the response type I get unknown. well, I have done my research, and discover that this is a known issue.[URL]..
adobe said that with Flex Builder 4.5 this issue will be fixed. but apparently it ain't so.
I tried with flex and java in the backend. In this, I am able to upload files till 100 MB using remote object (blazeDs) where we will read the file as byte array and send it to the java method. If the file size exceeds after that, then I get the run time error in IE.
I could play MIDI file where "filename" is a String type with "asd.mid" value. However, I tried to sent AIR's nativeprocess command to Java, it shown "could not read" error.
I am newer with flex technology.I am creating a chart using ant file & .mxml in eclipse my 'ant' file executes properly but it gives following error when i opens a .swf file which is created auomatically:
Flex Error #1002: Flash Player 9.0.115 and above is required to support signed RSLs. Problem occurred when trying to load the RSL
And the problem is that messanger.swf is able to pull request if the web application is started as ROOT in tomcat webapps. I mean it can only be access by this url localhost:8080/. If i try to move webaplication to another folder - for example to localhost:8080/myApplication messenger.swf would not work properly sinse i have to change root_context as well.
So my question how to dinamicly determine context-root in run time, without hardcode it as option of compiler ? I want my .war application work properly regardless of it position in webapps folder(url).
I'll ONLY recieve an "Error #3000: Illegal path name" if I try to open a file which is placed inside the app-folder of the air. If the file is somewhere else outside of the app-folder it works.
private var file:File = File.documentsDirectory; public function download():void{ var pdfFilter:FileFilter = new FileFilter("PDF Files", "*.pdf");
[Code]....
When i try to get the same file and copy it to another place it's doing fine.
Why that? Something special to do if i wanna open files which are inside the appfolder? It also don't work in debug mode - bin-debug.
I'm building an AIR application which will be used to edit slideshows for another app (also built by me, but not in AIR). The slideshows and other data are defined in several xml files which are in the other application's program folder. When trying to load these into my AIR app I get the following error:
fault(mx.messaging.messages::ErrorMessage)#0 body = "" clientId = "DirectHTTPChannel0"
I have an Adobe AIR application for Android. Using for this AIR 3.0 and Flash Builder 4.6. I need to make MyANEFile.ane - which must include 2 external .jar files: Flurry.jar + Tapjoy.jar. But when I made .ane file - it does not work. How can I add this 2 jar files to my main application jar file to make .ane file properly? It shows me such errors in dalvik:
I am using AIR to make a little installer. How would I go accessing a file in there application data folder for all platforms? When trying to access it directly it works just file.
I was running my application from Flash Builder 4.5.1 without any issues. (It is a Flex application that connects to .Net Web Services). However, something has changed recently in my configuration or project, because when I try to run the app with the play or debug button, I just get a grey screen. I can't even stop on any breakpoints. Eventually (maybe 30 seconds), a message pops up like so: 'The Flash Builer failed to connect to the running application. Please make sure that you are running the debug version of Flash Player...'
Can I create an application with Flex Builder Trial ( that I have just downloaded ) and use that application on my website ? But all of you that use Flex Builder have the licence?
