I'm searching for at least simple Open Source Flex mxml actionscript Table creator and editor?
I need it to be able to create simple tables and generate some text (xml or HTML ) representation of thair contents
I need to create an application, the main срфддутпу will be to work with graphics. The application will contain the basic operations with geometric shapes and creating your own shapes.When creating, I would like to rely on ready-made examples of graphic editors. To do this, I'm looking for examples of open source projects.

View 7 Replieswe're developing an app that should be able to open specified file with default editor application. (so if it is .doc - it suppose to be opened by MSWord or openOffice)
But I also need to wait until user will close the editor, check if it was changed (by size and date), and upload it to the server.
So the following steps:
1) find def editor
2) open file
3) wait it be closed
4) do smth after that with the file.
now results of my research:
-> opening by def editor is simple: file.openWithDefaultApplication();
but there is no way to know that editor is closed (maybe by checking that file is not locked in timer???)
-> i can start the native process and pass file as parameter BUT looks like the code NativeApplication.nativeApplication.getDefaultApplication(file.extension); does not work for any extension :( - it doesnt work for "rtf", "doc" but works for "pdf"... and [file.openWithDefaultApplication()] works fine with any file!
I am trying to figure out how to open a pop up window in my Air application, in a secondary Window, instead of the main application window.I am using the ReusableFX components, which include a custom DataGrid with filtering and other capabilities. The filtering feature displays a pop up window via PopUpManager when you click on the top of a column in the grid.
PopUpManager.addPopUp(this, FlexGlobals.topLevelApplication as DisplayObject);
The problem is that the pop up window opens in the main application - I am assuming because of the 'topLevelApplication' reference.So, I need a way to open this window in the current Air "s:Window". I am assuming I need a way to walk up : this.parent.parent or this.owner.owner - though I have tried that and it did not seem to work (it said null reference).OR, is there a way to get the current top most window / component (NOT the main application / window)?
Update:I decided to create a new project for the component, and add in the Air libraries. Now I am able to access the "NativeApplication.nativeApplication.activeWindow" call. That gives me the correct Air window. However, it does not seem to be working:
PopUpManager.addPopUp(this, NativeApplication.nativeApplication.activeWindow as DisplayObject);
My popup does not appear. I am assuming because "activeWindow" is not actually a DisplayObject?(so how do I get the DisplayObject if that's the case?)

View 4 RepliesExcuse me, I'm afraid I'll show my ignorance here,I'm trying to update my music site, and am happy with the look I get when I preview in IE from Dreamweaver, but when I upload to my site online, IE chokes up and the flash object never shows up, as on the iphone iOS 4.3 safari browser, and Firefox renders the object, but too far too the left.
Basically, when I have href text of various song names in cells on a table with a background image. When a song name is clicked, I'm attempting to have songs from my soundcloud account show up and play in a cell on the table, using an iframe. This is sort of working locally in IE, but nowhere else (see above). The code I grabbed from soundcloud is a flash object with a number of parameters defined that I am not able to utilize in my current method of just using the src="http:samplefile.com" part of the ofject code, not the other object parameters.
I've also tried creating separate html pages that have the full object code and nothing else, and then having my text in my table cells call these html files to show up in the iframe--that's actually working in IE, and though the location is off, in Firefox, but not on an iphone. Does MXML get compiled down to as3 and then converted to flash bytecode? Also, is there a significant performance penalty to compiling mxml vs compiling as3?

I would like to be able to specify my own custom properties for the component as well as access the existing public subcomponent properties via MXML. For instance I might want to adjust the font color or style for the label and text input. toy component which aggregates both a label and a text input:

View 1 Repliesi have a Air Project in which i have added three extenal source folders. but when i reopen project or strat flash builder again i get icon on those folder like this but when i open the configuration for that project and try to validate the path and adding it again i get message like this but the path is valid. proof is this pic what could be possible error,,, is there any way that i when ever re-open project i get no warning and able to navigate through the linked source code. now i am doing it
1- deleting on of the linked folder
2- again adding that folder.

I should probably say what I'm trying to do.... The idea is to create a Facebook app that lets friends communicate (and meet new people too) in real time over web cam.
