View 8 RepliesI'm having a problem with recording a live webcam stream. The last few seconds of the stream is getting cut off.
The recording is stopped with the following piece of code:
vid.attachCamera(null);
vid.clear();
ns.attachCamera(null);
ns.attachAudio(null);
ns.pause();
What could be causing this? Is the stream cut off too soon? Is the client unable to send buffered data to the server?
Currently we have a swf file application that runs in a browser and takes the live video stream from the camera on the computer and streams a live sorenson spark stream to the fms 3.5 server.
Question is: How to live stream vp6 from the browser/swf file on the camera computer, instead of the sorenson spark. (We seem to be stuck only on sorenson spark).
Only just getting started on this whole domain of learning, so go easy!If I set up a P2P video/audio chat (similar to the sample VideoPhone thing on the Cirrus site), can I get the stream from both parties to send to a server at the same time so that I can record it? If so, would I have to use a FMS to stream it to and perform the recording (and if so which version could I get away with)? Are there any (preferably free, or just tutorialised) solutions for the recording side of things?
Currently it seems like the only option for doing the P2P thing is to use Stratus/Cirrus unless I use FMS4 Enterprise.
how effective this kind of situation can be, in terms of quality of the stream and recording? Does any of this make sense?
I've had FMS running on my local machine for a while and have had a little experience writing FMS apps, but I've just tried recording audio for the first time using the standard vod application and I keep getting a "Write access denied for stream" error. My AS3 code is copied and pasted for various examples and am confident that it works.
I'm running Windows XP service pack 3 & FMIS 3.5.
I've had a look at the vod/media directory and under windows->properties the read-only attribute is ticked. Every time I un-tick this it reverts back to being ticked. I've googled this and MS say that most programs ignore the read-only attribute and that it only really applied to files. I've also tried the MS fix for setting the read-only attribute via cmd and still no joy (doesn't fix read-only attribute or FMS recording the audio after setting via cmd).
I've also tried our dev server install of FMS (running under linux) and am getting the same results.
Here's my AS3 code...
private function initApp(event:Event):void
{
removeEventListener(Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE,initApp);

I have got success in making live streaming with telecast at different pc. The application which I have made has the features: I' am publishing live stream using the connection like: nc.connection("rtmp://10.8.4.56:1935/live"); publishing the stream like: ns.publish("mycamera","live"); now, on other pc I am running the file for telecast using the following code: making connection with server: nc.connection("rtmp://10.8.4.56:1935/live"); playing the live stream: ns.play("mycamera"); vid.attachNetStream(ns);
Now, that was for the live stream for publish and view. But I want little more than that.I want to record the live stream at the publish end simultaneously. I have tried the code at publish side like: nc.connection("rtmp://10.8.4.56:1935/live"); ns.publish("mycamera","live"); ns.publish("mycamera","record"); But it is giving me error: NetStream.Record.NoAccess when I am changing the connection point to tmp://10.8.4.56:1935/dvr", t is giving me the result but then effecting the live telecast.

I have an application where it records stream from my webcam, stores it in fms 3.5 application folder.
Recording is fine, I am using camera.setMode() method to set the width and height properties for the recording.
for eg: cam.setMode(388,284,15,false);
But when we check for the recorded video i am getting the widht and height as 352 , 264. even after changing the faovare boolean to false.
how i should set the camera so that the recorded video is of same size which i have given.
I have Flash Media Streaming Server 3.5 (not Interactive) running on RHEL5.5 x86_64 Linux.All is working well, however how do I prevent unauthorized access to connecting to the live stream and streaming content?How can I setup the server to require a user and password to stream live media to the server?I am new to this product and I have been reading some documentation but I have not found a clear cut answer on how to force a username and password to connect to the server to stream live content only.I am using the Adobe FMS Apache install, what files need changing?[code]I want to lock down a person from connecting to the server on the public internet and starting a live stream?Can this be done with a user name and password?

My Encoder is setup with three streams: Vid: 500 kbps - Audio: 48 kbpsVid: 800 kbps - Audio: 48 kbpsVid: 1500 kbps - Audio: 48 kbps I start the encoder and everything looks fine in the log. In my browser (Safari or Firefox) I go to my html site and the stream starts after 6-8 sec. But anytime with the lowest bitrate 548 kbps and nothing look like the stream is switching to another bitrate. I tried it with the smil playlist and the result is the same. Only the lowest bitrate is plublished.

I'm very new to FMS and I have been experimenting around with it as a part of my job. I already have the encoder, FMS, and my AIR application all talking, so that portion is going well.The problem that I want to tackle next though is to have the FMS server record the live stream to it's hard drive. All of the guides that I've found talk about how to make a DVR stream, but that's not what I want. I want to be able to have the live stream, and then separately I would like to have it recorded.
View 1 RepliesMy Purpose is to record live streams on server side and play recorded files later. What I have done is -
1. Copied All files of applications/live in some safe location.
2. Copied all files from samples/applications/live to applications/live folder. (Deleted main.far from live folder)
3. Restricted SWF and HTML to mydomain in these files - allowedHTMLdomains.txt and allowedSWFdomains.txt
4. In main.asc I added these line in the end
var mystream;var intervalID;
[Code] .....
5. Then I restarted FMS and tried streaming using FLash Media Encoder. I was able to live stream and then i stopped it.
6. A FLV File was recorded in application/live folder with the stream name that i used in encoder.
I am able to view live video on my domain as well as some other domain, that means allowedHTMLdomains.txt and allowedSWFdomains.txt did not worked. Another issue is that I am not able to view recorded video after I stopped encoder but I was able see live video before stopping. I am using jwplayer to view the video and using flashvars streamer (rtmp://xx.xx.xx.xxx/live) and file(abc) to view the live and recorded video.
when i try to live stream with FMS! I can stream video with Flash media live encoder to the server but when i create the player to recieve the livestream from server,i can not recieve the live stream,can anyone give me a step by step tutorial of how to do it?
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to stream a HDS live multi-bit stream, it seems to push to the FMS but my player doesn't display the stream.Are these settings and files correct? The documenation is confusing on what and which files need to be edited and/or created.
Encoder settings:
Bit Rate: 150,500,700
FMS URL: rtmp://myserver/livepkgr
Stream: liveevent%i?adbe-live-event?liveevent
FMS 4.5
I see the following directories being created when I start encoding and each directory has a single file with a .stream extension in them. Are these correct? fC:FMS-HOMEapplicationslivepkgrevents\_definst_liveevent1[code].....
I'm recording a stream from a webcam as an f4v file using FMS 3.5. The file is created in the live folder, and i can stream it back to the client no problem, however when I try to play the file in Adobe Media Player (or anything else) it won't play. I've used the f4v post processor which claims to run successfully, but with no joy.

View 1 RepliesI am trying to record a H264/AAC streamin FLV format on my FMS server and all I get in the recording is the metadata but no media content. Is H264 recording only supported in F4V?
View 1 RepliesOur team is developing an application that allows users to communicate via their own camera, and make a record of all user's cameras that are in the same room. However we have come across an issue with our FMS 4 server. The issue is that sometimes when a user records all streams in a room at one point the recording process for particular streams suddenly stops but at the same time streaming is still working. For example, 2 users were broadcasting and one of them was recording their streams. At the end of the recording there were 2 flv files, however one of them was only a quarter of the actual length. The logs for the damaged stream were:
- publish stream at 10:48:38
- play stream at 10:48:38
- record stream at 10:48:44
- unpublish stream at10:53:11
- stop stream at 10:53:12
Total length of the flv file should be more than 4 min but actually it is only 1 min 12 sec.
I'm creating application where user can record voice message, problem is that recorded file is passed to other encoding servers, that requires both video and audio streams to be present.
how can I use static image to emulate webcam and attach it to NetStream?
ns = new NetStream(nc);
ns.addEventListener(NetStatusEvent.NET_STATUS, watchRecording);
//ns.attachCamera(cam);
ns.attachAudio(mic);
ns.publish(fileName.text, "record");

Although I don't have access to application on WOWZA server I can negotiate with some one to add few lines and recompile it. So server-side solution in java is also an option here.
I'm running FMS 4.0.2. I have a server side script that will record a stream that is playing on a remote server. This script was running fine on FCS 1.5. When running on FMS 4.0.2 the stream starts recording fine, but after a few minutes it stops on its own with no event notifications on the stream. No NetConnection or NetStream events are registered. I thought it might have been been an issue staying connected to the remote server.
But then I wrote something to publish a stream directly to this server, and have a simple server side script record the stream on the same server, but the same thing happens - it stops after a few minutes with no notifications. Again the code works fine in older versions of FMS/FCS. This has obviously proven problematic that I cannot record a stream longer than a few minutes. The problem occurs both on streams published via the Flash Player (Sorenson Spark) and the FMLE (H.264).
Has there been any further discussion regarding restricting who can stream to FMSS (not FMIS or the development version).
I found this article, but I don't know if this was ever fully resolved:

I don't want just anyone to connect to my server to stream live. I want to restrict by IP address, authentication, or any other means.
'URL missing from Media tag' on FMS4.5 HTTP Live Stream playback.I have spent a whole day trying in vain to publish f4m live http streams from FMLE using FMS 4.5, and almost everything I try results in the error .The F4M document contains errors URL missing from Media tag...in both Flash Media Playback and the fms videoPlayer app.Other people seem to have seen this and solved it, but I've found nothing that helps. I have tried to publish a single stream, and with multiple bitrates. For the latter, I followed the Adobe video tutorial as follows:
Multiple bitrate live

I'm publishing 3 streams from FMLE, using
FMS URL: rtmp://[serveraddress]/livepkgr[code]..........
Beside Flash Media Encoder, can I use a live stream from Windows Media Services?We have live streaming with Windows Media Server, but now want also offer to mobile devices, but we dont re-encode the entire streams (tvs) again, it would be great if we can use a stream from windows to tunnel it to flash media server.
View 1 RepliesOne server - is streaming server with Flash Media Interactive Server 3.5that host the application with asc files in FMS application directory.Second server - is the IIS web server that host thehtml,aspx,swf etc.. files.So basically i heve swf file on one server that have to connect to live streaming via rtmp on different server with different ip address.I did not find any clear explanation on this crossdomain rmtp issue.ys only HTTP can use crossdomain.xml policy filebut not rmtp.So what policy security procedure need to be done in order to enableswf file hosted on one server to connect and show rmtp live cam broadcasting from another server?
View 2 RepliesSomebody I know can't watch because they have a proxy server.The nc.connect() call to get the live stream fails because it goes direct from AS3 to FMS and doesn't go through the proxy server.

View 1 RepliesMy rtmp client connects to the server ok and rtmp data flowing ok for about 4hours, in the wireshark trace I can see that the server just stops sending data roughly after 4hours. The server version is 3.5.1, and I also try it on a 4.0 server the data stops coming from the server as well after 5+hours. There are no errors or any indication of session disconneciton in the diagnostic logs. I have also looked thru the settings in applicaiton.xml and server.xml I just don't see any obviious reason for the issue. I do send rtmp Acknowledgement to server after the client receives "window size" bytes, and the client sends ping response to server.
View 1 RepliesWe purchased Flash Media Streaming Server Interactive edition in order to have the security featuers of not allowing unauthorized connections streaming live content to the server. Is there a document with procedures that details how to make this happen, the allowedHTMLdomains.txt does not work when you place in IP ranges that you do not want connecting. I need some help just to figure out a way to keep someoen from connecting to the server and not streaming live content. Has anyone configured this in Linux because the documentation is mainly for Windows. Any help/advice would be great since this seems to be a common problem for anyone who runs Linux.
View 10 RepliesI'm new to Adobe Flash and I'm just trying out the Flashe Media Server 4.5 to stream live video on a local machine. I'm using a FLME 3.2 to capture the video from my digital camera, which works fine, and I can connect to the server with no worries as well. But I have issues streaming the content in the Sample Video Player that comes with the server.
