View 2 RepliesI'm attempting to upload a video via the YouTube api. I can authenticate everything fine and formulate the request just fine but the body of the request with the binary video data I'm having an issue with.
What's the proper way to encode the file data and add it to the body of the urlRequest?
My best guess was:
public function getFileStreamBytes(fileName:String):String{
var byteArray:ByteArray = new ByteArray();
var returnString:String = "";

Is it possible to record the audio from a users microphone, let them review it, then upload it to a server all from within an .swf in an .html page?
I have not come across this out on the web, so that is why I am "what if ing".
What I want to know is if it is possible to record a sound clip using a microphone and then upload it to the server using a swf applet in a webpage. Im an experienced java/javascript programmer but just starting out with flash/action script. What technologies will I need to do this? Can I do this simply using simply an swf file and an apache/php or jsp page?
View 2 RepliesFrom a web page, I'm looking to record audio from the user's microphone and then upload the file to a server to be stored as an MP3. My solution is built using .NET.Most similar apps that I've seen use Flash on the client and presumably Flash Media Server on the server. We don't have the kind of budget for FMS. I'm looking for a free/open source solution.I've also looked a bit at Silverlight 4 since it supports recording WAV audio but I'm not clear on how to tackle the uploading and encoding to MP3 bit.Ultimately, I need to record audio from the microphone and then be able to store the file on the server as an MP3 file. Free (or at least cheap) is required.
View 2 RepliesWhat i'm trying to do: create an app that will record the mic and upload the recored track to a server. I thought that it will be simple: record, automatic save the record to a temporary file, upload the file to the server and erase the temp file created...but is not. I can't figure out how to save the file without using the save window.
View 5 RepliesJust wondering where I could get a flash video player that enables the user to embed the video like youTube functionality.URL....
View 3 Repliesby following a tutorial on [URL], I was able to display a youtube video in flash, but the problem is that the video doesn't have a control menu. Just wondering if there is a way to make one, either it is customized or some default menu provided by youtube or flash.
View 0 RepliesIn my CS4 flash document I have created a media gallery. It's a very simple interface that has mouse overs on thumbnail pictures, and then the larger picture will fadeUP in the center of the document. (With use of framelabels in the timeline).
In the same document, I want the user to be able to click on a video thumbnail, and that video plays back in the center of the document. Several questions: If the user clicks on the thumbnail "onrelease," the time line goes to the player, is it possible to stream this video from a youtube clip into my media player on the screen? If not and I have the document in a fl4 format, is there a simple process to have this video open? (I currently do not have the document in fl4 format).
I would like to know if it's possible to capture a users webcam in flash and directly upload it to YouTube without a backend server setup. Or if there are any third party providers that support this service. I see YouTube offers a live streaming API, but it seems it's only available for selected users.
View 1 RepliesIn the cosmicpanda update for youtube, you can go from a video page to the video creators profile page while your video is still playing in flash. Does anyone how Youtube accomplishes this? I would like to know if it's possible to keep the flash state of a site constant while moving from page to page on a site.It doesn't seem as if the flash is reloading, so I don't think that they are just saving cookies for the current video time and starting the video at that point when they refresh.I would assume that they're using ajax, but the application of this feature is really clean. The URL gets correctly changed to the users' profile page's URL. The back button still works as it should. (I can press back and forward between video page and user profile page and the video continues going clean and never drops.)
View 2 RepliesI am testing a flash to run video on my web site [url]... it loads the skin but not the video. I have tested the page in a browser from my computer and it works but it does work when loaded from the web. When I test the page on my computer in internet explorer it gave a blocked content warning but worked when I allowed blocked content.?

View 4 RepliesI'm putting together a portfolio for an interview mon, and I use a portable dvd player to show my 3d animations, but I also want to show a flash game I made and I was wondering whats the best method of showing it.I can't lug my comp in there, and just printing and mounting screenshots seems a waste when I have the dvd player sitting on the table already. I've been trying various desktop recording software, but so far everyone I've tried has horrendous framerate issues, well, not terrible, but not something I wanna show at a job interview.
View 1 Repliesi have to record a video from the webcam and generate a video file from this ( i really cant figure this thing out )
View 2 RepliesI was making a player which calls videos from youtube and displays it in my flash playback component. The script loads the videos fine but when i want the flash to load the same video ID from an external XML data source, it loads the youtube player API but not the video. Here is the code
Security.allowDomain("www.youtube.com");
Security.allowDomain("*");
var my_player:Object;
var my_loader:Loader = new Loader();
my_loader.load(new URLRequest("[URL]"));
[Code] .....
This script loads the video from youtube.com with an specific ID which i have defined at
my_player.cueVideoById("53OyPYa7SEI",0)
Later I defined and XML file called "videos.xml" where I passed the youtube link and tried to call the video from that xml file in flash. But the problem comes there. Here is the xml code
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1" ?>
<videos>
<VIDEO url="[URL]" id=1/>
<VIDEO url="[URL]" id=2/>
</videos>
How to call the video from an XML file?
Looking to use Flash to record a video diary. Just need to be able to record the video and audio from a webcam to a local computer for later playback.

View 2 RepliesI want to create a simple app the will run on a PC as a desktop application - not on the web. What I would like to do is have it show a webcam image on screen (yup, i can do this bit), then when the user clicks a button, the video and audio from the camera is recorded and saved to their local machine (eg. the desktop). I'd prefer it to be an flv or f4v file, but any video format would do for now. I've seen examples of video being recorded only (basically grabbing a jpeg/png of each frame and using these, but this has no audio!) I've also seen mention off flash media server, but as this app will be going on over 100 pc's with no network/server connection - I cant see how the cost would work!! (100 x licences -
View 1 RepliesI hava an application that captures video from webcam and renders some additional elements on its display (augmented reality).Now I need to record this video and stream it to FMS.
View 3 Repliesthere is a way to record the stream of webcam without use media server or similars servers? with flash or air can do that? record both audio and video?i found a air class that record video capturing bitmap data of each frame and saves to a byte array but no record audio
View 3 RepliesIs there still really no way to use the Flash Player, whether embedded in a web page or as a projector, to record video files to a local directory on a user's computer?I understand that this is potentially a security nightmare, but I thought Adobe had worked around those issues.
View 2 RepliesAm trying to record video from my webcam.
here is my code
[code]...
When i click record_btn, flash asks me permission to access my webcam. If i alow in the screen i am able to see live video. But I want to store the video and replay it.
I noticed that AS3 is able to take a snapshot out from a webcam & save it as a .jpg but is AS3 capable of recording a video with a webcam and save it to a local disk/network server? any video format is fine with me as long it can be played with window media player.
